    I've never been to the Tokyo islands but I've definitely been in a typhoon. I just remember there's a lot of sitting in the room wanting it to be over. That food looked great!

    You need to go back to Hachijojima. You missed a lot of what is available on the island. There are some great Izakaya pubs. Lots more good scenery, a good mountain and crater perimeter climb. Lots of good local food too. There is an excellent ramen shop serving spicy ramen. There is an Italian restaurant owned by an Italian. There is a great public spa. There are some great omiyagi shops too.

    An Island so rural and remote it doesn't pop up in most japan travel guides? Color me interested. I needed a new long-shot destination after making it to Sado earlier this year, though for now I've set my sights on the Seto Inland Sea (there's an art fest, perfect framework program for a trip), Southern Japan and maybe Yashima for 2025.

    Is it actually available to do ferry from tokyo instead of using plane? Kinda pretty cozy island

    • @JunkFoodJapan
      @JunkFoodJapan  Год назад +1

      Yeah there ferry’s from Takeshiba port, it’s quite the boat there, I think they also have the speed boats and don’t quote me on this but I think it’s about 1,5hours on the speed boats. I just don’t do well with speed boats so prefer to fly. There is also Miyako and Niijima islands all within greater Tokyo

    • @Neoseanner
      @Neoseanner Год назад +1

      @@JunkFoodJapan ah i see , 1.5 hours does not sounds bad since ferry boat from batam to singapore is roughly the same. Might consider this option if one day i'll go there. Thanks for the info and recommendations.

    • @JunkFoodJapan
      @JunkFoodJapan  Год назад +1

      I just looked into the ferry and that’s a good 10,5 hours from Tokyo and cost U$289. Didn’t see any info on the speedboats though I know they exist

    Nic, no offence, but you ARE damn freaking loud. For the sake of the Japanese could you tune it down a tad bit pretty please? You are representing not just your own country but also every foreigner in Japan. I do love your channel but sometimes I feel you're doing a disservice to all of us gaijins....

    • @JunkFoodJapan
      @JunkFoodJapan  Год назад +1

      Good morning Dave, I took my time to think about your message and I feel like I will first of all day thank you for your feedback. Here’s the thing, I am not giving gaijin a bad reputation by being loud, it’s what I have been doing on Japanese TV, Radio and live stage acting over the last 2 decades. It’s very Japanese style variety, and I am not being yelled at or scolded for being rude. Most places we are either outside or it’s just us as a small crew filming. I feel that many people might be in a nervous space because of the recent events with streamers. Please know that everywhere we film we have permission or have been asked to come film. I hope you can see the comedic value of my channel and keep supporting it TOMODACHI
