Farid was my moms & my uncles idol. One of my uncles sang & played the oud exactly like Farid.People would always ask him to sing Farid songs to every gathering we went to and that's how we grew up loving his music. Now our kids who are all under 10 love his music also. He was a legend!!

The master Farid is at one of his best play and he had too many beautiful pieces , we will never see one like him again . Enjoy the last century music play by the master . Farid el Atrache is one of the best oud players known, He is a singer , melody composer and also a movie star.. He was awarded so many times, Especially in Turkey in 1964 and after he said to be "the king of oud" Those takassim are taken from Awel hamsa song.. Farid is used to play oud before beginning any song.
This gentleman is just incredible. I would be scared to see what would happen if his band kicks in. I would also like to credit him for mastering the only curved neck I have ever seen on a stringed instrument! He beat Dr Suess to the punch!
