The alarm event does not cancel when the door is closed. This is how that particular detector works. So with the light example, it would never turn off. You have to add a timer event to turn off the light. The alarm can be triggered again after a short delay (defined by Sonoff). Also the Sonoff RF Bridge will only connect to a limited range of devices and not to ANY device that uses a rolling code that changes every time the device is activated. Most alarm switches eg Yale etc or even door bells eg Byron using rolling codes. I did find some cheap Remote Controlled Mains Sockets branded "Status" that work with Sonoff. They come with a Remote that you can learn on the Sonoff bridge. Then you can use Alexa to control these remote mains sockets.
I bought this exact setup - bridge, PIR & door sensor and it was delivered today. Setup went fine. Other than alarm notifications via Ewelink, how do I get Google Home to notify me when door is opened and/or PIR is triggered? (Home Mini)

My security alarm main hub does connect to wifi and the control app will send me a push notification if it detects something, but there is no way to connect that chinese app to my alexa, or IFTTT. I think this is the product I was looking for. Alexa has a skill for this ewesmart app. Thanks!

Great video, thanks for making and sharing. Couple of notes I'd add 1) what's the battery type for the door sensor? (A27 I believe). Also when pairing the PIR, there's no button to press.. just hover your hand over it! :)
Thanks for the comment much appreciated. 1) yes the battery is a A27 2) again yes there is no button on the PIR to activate the button i.e. press it you hover your hand over it.

Thanks, how do I switch off the sonoff bridge without powering down? It is working as an alarm that cannot be put off which is a pain, when I am home or has to keep going off because I am there, unplugging the unit doesn't sound right, what should I do

Hi Im John from Italy.... I'm a big fan. I am looking for a woreless battery powered external pir motion sensor that can trigger my external flood lights as a traditional sensor but I would like to create some routines to control my flood lights through a sonoff basic. hi. awesome video. question please; if i want to automate my air conditioner units at my apartment, they are already connected to the wall power directly (no plug socket). do i just need the RF BRIDGE? or do i have to install the SONOFF wifi/rf switch as well? would you know this? thank you for your time. have an awesome day. keep the videos coming!
sadly installing Sonoff plug outlet wont work as your AC needs to be run by selecting the ON button from the IR remote that comes with your AC and also i believe the Sonoff plug is rated at 13amps, your AC runs on 15amps outlet at least if not more. The RF bridge only operates on 433hz, it doesnt read IR remote. Another smart home brand named Broadlink do read IR remote but its a little pricey and you have to watch another video on the set up for that one. Hope that answers your question.
Can I learn RF remote signal of an unbranded LED Strip using this SONOFF RF Bridge and control the LED strip using the SONOFF bridge by passing voice command to Google home mini or Alexa?
DW2-RF before can be learn, but now can't,when i press other rf433 button ,the rf receive led light on, means it receive the rf433 signal, but not learning,is that a software bug?
Thanks for the comment, not all devices seem to work i tried a door sensor never managed it get it working it may be worth contacting sonoff support to see they can explain.

I know ... was trialling out new ideas at the time. I no longer bother with that.
After all the satisfaction of seeing the unboxing and setup, I was painfully waiting for you to put the door sensor back together and (hopefully) see the light turn off, unfortunately that didn't happen until the end of the video. Have to give a thumbs down, sorry mate.
With the test I was doing the light would not turn off you would have to setup another scene to say if the light is on turn off after a certain amount of time. Hope that helps.
does it work with apple home or siri?
Thanks for the comment. I've had a check and from what I have read its not supported.
Given the eWeLink app can be run on an Apple device it would seem to be supported by Apple Homekit
Thanks for the comment, I read somewhere that Siri is not supported.
@@GeekStreet can't be sure about Siri but I would imagine if it's supported by HomeKit that Siri could control. But who knows?
Would be good to hear from someone who has this working just to be sure. I personally don't own any apple products so can't check. Maybe in the future I may invest in some apple products.
Bailed at 7:00, couldn't take the looping 70s porn music. At least when it's playing over porn you get.... porn.
Lol.... I've stopped doing the music on the videos now!

Those door/window sensors are useless. They have to be too close together in order to register. They almost have to touch.
Don’t bother.
Are you sure? As I'm sure you could leave a slight gap!?
A slight gap? Yes. But my experience was the sensor had to be within 3.5mm before activation. Not much room for error.
That's pretty tight.
also they only send one signal, while open.
