    Good move getting a 250f. I'm 50 with 35 years riding, I always have a 250f in my stable. They are so much fun. Too many people get 500 or 300 2 stroke before they are ready

      exactly my thoughts! the 250 has been Plentyyyy for me and I can ride with folks who have 500's and even 300 2t's and I felt just fine really

    I love riding my 250 at around 8000 rpm. It’s fun to rev it out, but it feels like the bike is more settled in the mid range.

    • @urbexcross
      @urbexcross  10 месяцев назад

      absolutely. couldn't agree more. mid-range it definitely feels comfortable

    I picked up a 2013 250 for my son last summer. I usually ride my 450 or 300. It’s actually surprising how much I’ll just grab the 250 if I’m going for a quick tear. His brakes suck through. And the plastic fork lowers are beat and to put the new ones on you gotta drop the forks. So there’s that. But fantastic machines.

    • @urbexcross
      @urbexcross  10 месяцев назад +1

      Well said! It's fun riding a slow bike fast. And compared to the 500 and other high performance machines, it's nothing too crazy, but it's plenty for me and I really have enjoyed it so far! -Nick

    • @urbexcross
      @urbexcross  10 месяцев назад

      I have a Seat Concepts seat I can ship you! I don't use the seat concepts, and I'm pretty short, so I rock the stock seat.

      @owenwatts4894 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@urbexcross have you done any longer rides on the stock seat? How it it

    • @urbexcross
      @urbexcross  10 месяцев назад

      @@owenwatts4894 Well, dual sport rides, only a hour or so. not the most comfortable thing ever but doable. Off-road though, I'm standing 80% of the time so I don't notice at all if I off-road for a whole day. The seat hasn't been an issue at all other than prolonged highway riding.

    • @phantomshtter
      @phantomshtter 10 месяцев назад +2

      KTMs and Husqvarna and such are performance focused, not comfort. You're meant to stand on them 80% of the time. The seat is basically a 2x4. Not comfy. It's also a trade off on maintenance and reliability, more maintenance, less reliability overall versus the Japanese bikes.

    • @urbexcross
      @urbexcross  10 месяцев назад +1

      @@phantomshtterfor sure! luckily for a -not very mechanically inclined - person like me, KTM makes wrenching in their bikes super easy, well thought out, and easily accessible. which I have greatly enjoyed so far. it's been easier to work on than I thought tbh

I can shoot some videos locally here and there and just send them to you. Chop it up, edit it however you want. Mileage has been pretty good so far! I have done 4-5 hrs + in woods and trails and didn't need gas. with a few frequent water stops and scenery's etc. gas seems to last quite a while!

      My thoughts exactly. I have only been riding one year so the 250f is perfect for me and my skill set so far. I still have room to grow on it as well. that is for sure. It is kind of a unicorn. not many of them out there. I was very lucky when I found this one
