WRECK OF FAST FREIGHT TRAIN BLOCKS CANAL, CNR MAINLINE
That was the Trentonian headline in May 1961. A broken wheel caused 23 cars of the 65 car train to jump the tracks at the switch close to the CNR main line bridge over the Trent Canal.

Ive seen this footage at doc fest 10 yrs ago. Some body found some super8 films in the garbage and put them on disc.

yes i think it was a popular thing to photograph and film ..

@@seanscally2099 I wish I remeber who it was made that film. It had long shots of the derailment in colour.

Of all the home movies we grew up watching "The Train Wreck" was my brother and mines favorite. We had around 5 minutes of colour 8mm film shot from the road just north of the tracks. Still have it saved on CD somewhere.
