    I like your videos please continue .
    NB: min 25:21 , correct me if I'm wrong but if the temperature increase the conductor resistance increase by default .
    thanks again for sharing you experiences .

    Would it be possible to run another outdoor socket connected to the first one as I want to put two outdoor sockets on either side of a patio door

    White plug that was in the socket still has the paper on

    What about the holes you made in the plasterboard, how did you fix them.

    Wouldn’t it be better to fit a outside fused spur instead of the whiska box so they could isolate it and it could then have more than one socket fitted in the future.

    what type of cable is that? Just a standard 1.5mm cable ? or one with special outdoor resistant insulation?

      Thanks for the comment.
      There's no such thing as a "standard cable", I'm sure I said it in the video but it's Hi-Tuff code NYY-J 2.5mm

    When the temperature increases the resistance goes down? You sure. Would have used black pvc conduit myself

    Hello, sorry guys what type of cable you used outside, this black one. And what for mechanical protection, that is ok?
    Thank you

    Thats not a new installation that would be an alteration to an existing installation as you are making an addition to an existing circuit (Even just a minor works certificate would be fine)... Also that socket you came off, I could be wrong but it looked like there was 3 cables in the back of it, I would hazard a guess its a ring plus a spur, you just added another spur, if you check you are only allowed to spur off once from each point, you have spurred twice. I could be wrong as we didn't see the final job, I always put a fcu for outside sockets as you know eventually everything outside will leak, having a fcu or 20A double pole switch allows you to isolate the outside socket so the RCD could be reset, you could put this next to the existing socket an extend one leg of the ring so the fcu is on the ring, then the existing spur is ok and your fcu is on the ring so you are not spuring twice from a single point, apologies if you did this and just didnt explain it.. IMO you should not have been doing EICR's without the 2391, its the best way to prove competency in law...

    • @DoctorElectricYouTube
      @DoctorElectricYouTube  2 года назад +1

      great comment, thank you.
      Yes 2391 proves competency but having 2391 doesn't prove that you will test correctly as many don't bother and do about 6 EICR's a day

    • @ef7480
      @ef7480 Год назад +2

      Anyone with the skill , knowledge and competence can do an EICR. There is nothing in 'law' that says otherwise. As mentioned, even someone that does not have the 2391 can turn out a crap 'drive by' EICR. Confidence in your work is key not the qualification.

    • @steve11211
      @steve11211 Год назад

      @@ef7480 Yep, unfortunately that is correct.. However if something goes wrong and you will be required to prove competence, the person with the 2391 will be in the dock a lot shorter time that the person without it.. 2391 I agree does not mean you will do a good job but its a difficult course to pass if you don't know what you are doing..

    So have u extended the Ring for the outside socket or did you just come of a socket inside 😅for outside? I hope not 😅😅😅😅 you might have just messed up the RF circuit 😢😢😢
