Who to spot power cable wire to spin 360 if genarator spin 360(wind turbine) more than once....? Pls reply
@@vishnudev4941 It wasn't shown in the video, but if you follow the link, you'll see 30A 3 wire "sleep ring" in the bill of materials for the project there.
$5.00 Canadian Loonies ($3.67 US 12-29-2018) for this plan is so cheap. I paid it just to support the channel. I hope to build a few of these for my new off grid build in Fort Garland Colorado. Still awaiting the arrival of the Reaper 2 build...
I following your plans and started build my own wind turbine .
Thanks for new year gift .
Incredible build. You have an amazing talent, and the perfect workshop to utilize it.
Thank you James! Fantastic project!
amazing! Such a professional work
Man, what a GIFT 4 the World! God bless you.
Beautiful. Can't wait for the big boy :)
Amazing project! this is truly DIY, you even built the motor/generator yourself! It did not occur to me that you can do that!
Also, I appreciate the power output details! Thank you very much!
Congratulations ! Excellent work/video !
Awesome build, thanks for sharing
Stunning build
great workmanship
Amazing video from start to finish. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Bro now that’s the very best off grid wind turbine that I’ve ever seen before.
I love the way you got your propeller blades to look and function so sweetly.

This is freaking awesome work!!
wow man u make it look so easy... damn thats some skills u got...
Best music on a RUclips video!
Great job.
Not so many people on Earth who can do this!!!! Well done👍👍
Respect , very loud.
Nice and good job
It's amazing good job. Every thing possible when have complete tools materials and some idea
I enjoy see this video just for the work well done. Besides is a very complete and complex project. Congrats

Wow man, this stuff is of a higher level. This is not junior league. Great job buddy.
Cool, great build
A wind turbine is on my build list
Thanks! I like your channel, you gained another sub. Keep up the great work!
Love it man sweet..
Hello, I have acquired the plans previously and I was encouraging myself to make the 1Kw generator but I am surprised that the comments in the guide videos are disabled, it would be very helpful if others provide their problems so I can see the solutions that they have. are provided.
If comments are disabled, then how are we communicating right now? If you have questions, feel free to ask me or anyone of the people you see in the comments below. All of the partial build videos on this turbine were set to private at one time because this video wraps them all into one. Every video is in this one. Having them all public would only make them all compete against each other in terms of the algorithm. But setting them to private automatically removes all of the comments. This is RUclips, not me. I have no control over that. When I realized comments were gone, I set the videos to unlisted but they didn't return. Oh well. Like I said, you're free to communicate here. But my guess is you won't find anyone with any problems regarding building any axial flux turbine, whether they used my plans or not. These are excellent machines. I only charge enough for the plans to cover the cost of the website. It's a charity, really. They could be patent protected. Build it, don't build it - your choice, my friend. But if you don't build it, then we both lose on the deal, not just me. Again, as I mentioned in the build guide and the build article, I'm here to help any way I can every step of the way. I don't usually respond to comment threads, though, so if you ever do have any questions specifically for me, then you can reach me at jbiggar@resystech.com.
Nice work! I used an electric bike motor for wind turbine motor.
Ohhh Man !!!
Amazing
So cool 😎 very god Job, congratulacions
Can't wait till the reaper is done!!
Genio genio trabajo excelente!!!!
Amazing
Вы большой молодец!!! Все работы выполнены самостоятельно супер;)!
I Just bought the plans, I’m not planning on building this anytime soon but I think a work like this deserve the support; who knows maybe I get the inspiration once I get the plans....ohh just got your email with the plans !
Thanks!!
How much time does this guy have? I would understand if he would sell his pla.....aaahhh! Yeah! I see it now! But you know what? These videos are great! Kudos to you, mate! You are slowly becoming my hero! I will buy the plans for your solar panel laminating table! And maybe this one also! It looks feeaking amazing!
Very nice
thanks to your build am 1/3 way in to mine thank you
My pleasure. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
@@JamesBiggar I have a lot to ask lol but let me get all the things cut out and welded first
Very beautiful, please ask for details, blade size and blade sharpening
NICE...!!!!
Nice
Awesome! is it a big difference in your electricity consumption? .. I mean does it offset a lot of your consumption?
GOOD JOB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) 💪😎👍 ⚡💡⚡
Wow this windturbine is so nice love it 😚 do you sell them ??? IF so how much ???
Thanks so much. Woohoo
My pleasure, thanks for watching!
As always a real nice job
this is my first time accessing the channel on the notebook, going back to android, can't open videos.
keeps complaining about a tier !
Thanks Leslie! Tier? That's weird. I'm old fashioned when it comes to devices anyway, I just use a desktop and laptop.
@@JamesBiggar you see in Chrome I was in RUclips on the channel looking at the videos trying to open the one that said locked I don't know why they said locked but it says pick a tear no extra charge picking at ear and it only gave me one tear the $5 tear it was going to try and charge me for anything I might download more or less anyway after clicking away for awhile I just said flea and went back to Android don't know what the difference was I use Chrome there as well.
Also have no idea where the emotions desktop chrome are so no thumbs up.
I have not used this notebooks more than 100 hours in 3 years, so much has gone to crap. But my phone, I do everything on it, oh well
t don't seem to be there
Yeah none of my videos are 'locked', that must be something to do with the software or an app on your device, trying to charge you to watch RUclips videos. There are no tiers on my channel, no options for locking videos, etc. I can make videos private so that only I can watch them and publish when I want, but I can't lock videos and create tiers to make people pay to watch them. Just have the $5/m channel membership and that has nothing to do with locking/unlocking videos, just gives members access to the project plans (the same perk that Patron Elites get). I would contact the manufacturer and find out what's up with their device because that's just criminal imo. My videos will never be behind a paywall as long as I have anything to say about it. Unless you're using RUclips Red (now called Premium), that might have something to do with it as that's a paid subscription service for Americans, but I don't know any more about it or how it affects my channel here in Canada :/ Other than that, I don't know. If someone is charging to unlock and watch my videos through YT, I'm definitely not getting any $ from it
Very very nice. Buy the plans, but results may vary. This iteration is the original, and people will buy it. You could custom build these James.
I was thinking about how much it would cost someone to purchase plans, build all the jigs, buy all the materials, ship everything, and then the time to build it, I could probably value this rig at about 55k. Paid for in electricity in about 2-3 years. In a windy spot.
Love the music
I want to cry when you make that tapered edge of the blade....3:33
He wasted money on thick magnets and then used cheap thin steel plate, position of the magnets is a tiny problem in comparison to that, also coils shape is crapy. So dont cry about that edge...
@@Bialy_1 "“Strength” or magnetic force increases with increasing size, but not linearly;" - how is that WASTED MONEY??? ... Cheap steel plate? what should've he used? VIBRANIUM?
Coil Shape? if you know better then provide a link to an explanation or show and image and explain why you think that his coil shape is "crapy" - and if your answer going to include the word "TRAPEZOID" I'm going to LOOSE IT!!!
nice
amigo adquiri sus planos del generador de 1kw pero los videos en youtube estan privados ,como puedo ver los videos porfavor :(
The old videos have been republished.

Hello James Biggar. I will be building a steel sailboat I hope soon and my question is can I make a 3000w version but with smaller overall dimensions?
Hi. No. The amount of energy that a turbine can harness from the wind is dependent on the wind speed AND the swept area of the blades. Smaller blades = less power. With that said, you absolutely do NOT need a 3kW turbine on a sailboat. A 3 kW turbine is an off grid turbine for an avg home. Sail boats, fishing boats, etc typically only use 1000W turbines or less. Over the course of 24 hours in a windy environment like an ocean or lake with a mean annual wind speed between ~5-10 mps, that would amount to a consistent power output of around 500W and 12 kWh of energy. The avg home only uses 20-30 kWh per day. Unless your sailboat is a fully loaded houseboat, then you'll be wasting a lot of $ by installing a turbine that's 3X more powerful than what is needed. www.windatlas.ca/nav-en.php?no=11&field=E1&height=30&season=ANU
The best approach would be to tally up the total power of the equipment/appliances you want to power on your boat, and multiply that by the amount of hours you expect to run everything (realistically) to get an idea of how many kWh/day you need to produce. To be clear - if you need to produce 3000 watt hours per day, that does not mean you need a 3000 watt turbine. If the total power of your equipment is 3000 watts, that does not mean you need a 3000 watt turbine to power them, either. Like most, you won't be running everything at full power at the same time, all the time. A refrigerator doesn't run 24/7. Lights don't run 24/7, etc. For example, let's say you want to power a 150w sat tv for roughly 6 hrs every evening. 150w * 6 hrs = 900 watt hours. There are 24 hrs in a day, so from the time you shut that tv off the night before until the time you turn it back on the following night, you'll need to generate 900 / 24 = 38 watt PER hr - that's how much power the turbine would need to produce in a given consistent wind speed to generate 900 Wh over a 24 hr period. Being on the water means that wind speed would be far more consistent than on land. Once you get the numbers you need, download this design guide to learn how to properly design a wind turbine to suit your needs in the wind environment that you plan on exposing it to: renewablesystemstechnology.com/the-diy-wind-turbine-design-guide.html
@@JamesBiggar Thanks for the very quick reply. I plan to live on a sailboat I will make then that smaller version I have some mediocre knowledge of it all. I am 23 years old I am learning so thank you so much for your help!!!!. I sincerely look forward to making a sailboat. I will share the process on this platform and when I will be doing the wind turbine I would share your youtube if I may. Now I am currently collecting resources on the GFM site hopefully it will be within two years
Which of the 3 configurations in the plan did you use for the video? 12, 24 or 48V?
I want to do the 24 V version, but I dont get the amount of turns and the meassurements of the coil yet and why I have to use double wires in the low Voltage area.
I´m glad about any help :)
24V. Watts = volts * amps. If you want the same power at a lower voltage, you need to increase the amps. But that also means increasing the coil wire gauge to handle the current. A certain thickness (or more specifically a certain cross sectional area) of wire can only carry so many amps. If the wire is too thin for the current, it will burn out. But using wire that's really thick can be very difficult to turn into a compact coil without special equipment. This is why parallel strands of 14 awg wire are used in low voltage generators. It creates the same cross sectional area as using one thick wire to carry the current, but is much easier to wind. More information is available on the website.
@@JamesBiggar thx for the help!
@@JamesBiggar And how do i calculate the thickness of the coil? It s propably a differnece wheater it´s 5mm or 20. Sry for aksing again but i can´t really find any information about that :)
Hello friend, the videos of the construction of the 1Kw wind generator are in private mode, I acquired your plans, how could I see the videos, friend, I need them to guide me.
Past videos for this build series are compiled into this one video - everything is here. All you need is this video, it's the same thing. But the past videos are published too.
Follow the instruction guide, that's what it's for.
@@JamesBiggar
Yes, I only know that with videos it is more dynamic to be able to do it :)
What's diametr on turbine?
Notification squad :D :D :D
Who plays the music?
Looks like a Hugh Piggott design.
Close, but not quite. This is an early James Biggar design, inspired by Hugh and other early axial flux pioneers. More rugged frame (tubing vs angle iron, 4 stator standoff's vs 3, custom thin mag rotor plates vs heavy car wheel hubs, etc), better pmg that runs cooler and is more optimally designed for mppt controllers, sleeker blade design for high speed performance but with a much wider root for better low wind startup torque. The latest iteration is even better, more compact, one of a kind. Will produce 3X as much power as this turbine. Should be flying in a couple of weeks.
If you haven't gotten rid of this turbine would you be interested in selling it since you have built a bigger turbine? Please let me know thank you.
Hola James soy colombiano estudiante de electromecánica con enfoque a energías renovables.
Me interesa materializar el generador de 1kv pero no puedo descargar el archivo me gustaría saber los diámetros de los rotores y los estatores.

wowwwwwwwwww
Do you have a set of plans for those wind turbine blades that You can send me
Yes, they're included with the wind turbine plans. Just follow the link in the video description to download them for free before the end of Jan. 1st
James Biggar I press download on your website but nothing comes up, do I have to use a pc because I am using an ipad
Read the description.
I would use a PC - I have no idea how downloads work on an ipad. But you can send me an email request instead.
I was able to download it on a pc, thank you
Is this free for Canadians. Still cost $5 for me.
Shouldn't, shows free to me and I'm Canadian. Refresh the page or revisit later - I just published the changes not long ago so it could take a bit for everyone to see them
Let me know if the problem persists....
@@JamesBiggar Thanks, works now. May not be able to use it but maybe when i get my own property i will build the bigger bugger
@@What_I_Make Thanks for letting me know. It's a good turbine for a beginner to start with, but it isn't an off grid turbine like the Reaper. Two or three of these would suffice, but the bigger turbine would be more cost effective to build, for sure.
Copper Wire ?
Enameled copper wire - it has to be insulated.
how large?
2000 whats
"Do it yourself" my ass.

Since when is this a 'Micro wind turbine'. This Thing Is huge by home standards... LOL
Great work. Hate the music - sorry.
Thanks! No worries, can't please everyone. You'll never get a narration from me though, that would be worse than the RUclips royalty free music from the original videos that I had to cover up lol
My new video plz chak thais video RUclips Meer wind turbines
Steel plate behind magnets is too thin, half of the magnets thicknes is minimum 100% is the best(it is conecting magnets and boosting magnets strength, you can bet that you will gonna have magnetic field leak behind that skiny plates) and coils should look more like triangle because only side of the coils is producing electricity and wires need to cut magnetic field with 90deg angle to the movement...
Your joking 99%of us watching would be flat out making a model areoplane let alone even understand what you are doing.... impossible unrealistic video
