I hate scaffolding. That one looks pretty solid though. I was a TEXAS union carpenter and helped build a huge Toyota facility. They had their own safety personnel, OSHA was always there. They would move fire extinguishers to see if you were paying attention! There was NO WAY you could go high without a separate safety course from that particular sub you were working with and were tied off all the time! Still, in 7 months one guy died and and few seriously injured. We had a full stand down one morning so the President of Toyota could talk to us via satellite. They thought we were a bunch of crazy cowboys with a death wish. The even had their own, on site, police force. I’ve never seen a job site with that level of safety and protocol. The speed limit was 5 to 15 mph depending where you were on site. You could get kicked off the job for 3 violations. I saw some crazy shit that some guys barely got away with. They say construction is top 5 in most dangerous jobs. I got close a few times but I was always looking around 360. I saw at least one guy get sent to the hospital on every job. Most of what I did was big commercial projects so, you know, the odds and the idiots. Once a year they made us watch an OSHA film of construction accidents caught on camera. You watched people dying. Some tragic, some just incredibly stupid, all dead. I’m retired. Ha Ha! I do miss it.
Live in Southern Indiana and use to do cutting/tuck-pointing for courthouses, police stations, schools and our bread and butter was the hospital! Had a swinging stage on the roof year round. Caulking the expansion joints (limestone) and windows (bronze). Until OSHA nailed us without h hats, harness & liner and did I mention it was a rope pulley stage to?! Now, I work at Toyota. Thought was relevant 👍
Horrifying the risks guys like this take with their lives, at least they're out feeding their feeding their families but fck, I wish they were less complacent.
I am so afraid of heights I could feel my calves and feet tingling, I thought he was gonna fall !! And I used to hand paint signs on buildings 3-12 stories high! 🤯
There's dang things CAUSE people to fall in many situations like that. If you can tie off to something high enough to get the stupid lanyard out of your way, then they are safe. But imagine him trying to crawl backwards with a stupid man you're getting tangled up around his feet and knees, then having to bend around untangle it, off Ballance..... It would MAKE him fall
You wouldn't see that in Australia cause that is a breach of OH&S, There would be barriers with netting on the side of the scaffolding cause of the deaths that have happened in the past.
I used to do this when I was 14 years old. My uncle did this kind of projects in Mexico. He just tied me up with a rope to my waist and send me up on the structures to. Put all this metal sheeting on my own. It was crazy but, now I realized how much he thought me. Sadly nowadays. You cannot teach kids what real work is. Because is called abuse.
@@jonathanwilson8951 mf probably would have slipped out 🤣 that's not legal in the developed world and it's immoral too. I don't even think adults should be doing some jobs, let alone children! Lmao but someone's gotta do it

RUclips recommend to me this video after 2 years. Respect hard work. It's not safe though. No safety measures applied incase someone falls swear to the God death is guaranteed.
I've worked construction for well over a decade. You build the scaffolding on the ground get it to a certain height with construction workers wearing safety equipment. There are multiple types of machinery you can use to lift a scaffolding up to a second third or fourth layer that has already been constructed. The construction workers will be inside of a man lift and can bolt down the scaffolding together. There are much safer ways to do the job. They don't even have a harness on for god sakes.
No amount of money would get me doing that job!! And to the silly Pratt that commented, it's just like walking on the ground!!🤯🤯🤯 If you fall over on the ground, you get back up and you may have twisted your ankle or something, you fall off that scaffold, you'll be in a mortuary fridge within the hour!! 🫣 Use your brain!! Put on a harness and actually fix it to something!!
So glad to see you’re actually using safety harnesses but not tied into anything! Good to know that your stupid RUclips video could be used against you in a court of law if you ever try to fight the system you will lose because you haven’t followed proper safety procedures.
