🥢 PRINTABLE RECIPE - soupeduprecipe...
In my last video, I show you how to make egg roll wrapper. Today we are using it to make fried egg rolls. This probably is best egg roll I have ever had. It is delicately crispy. The dipping sauce adds so many flavors to it. It is definitely one of those foods that will be gone as soon as you put them on the table. If you make these, you will get a lot of compliments.

*INGREDIENTS (enough to make 30-40 egg rolls)*
Homemade egg roll sheets (previous video link: • Basic Recipes - Homema... )
*FOR THE FILLING*
7 ounces (200 grams) of ground pork [猪肉末]
5.5 ounces (155 grams) of peeled shrimps [虾仁]
1 cup of shredded cabbage [包菜]
1 cup of shredded carrot
1 cup of leek [韭菜]
1 cup of chives [韭黄]
2 cups of glass noodles [绿豆粉丝] [Mung bean noodles: geni.us/gHnjg]
1 cup of bean sprouts [豆芽]
2 medium size eggs
*SEASONING*
2.5 tbsp of soy sauce [生抽] [Pearl River Bridge Natural Brewed Light Soy Sauce: geni.us/wABlLXf]
2 tbsp of oyster sauce [蚝油] [Lee Kum Kee Panda Brand oyster sauce: geni.us/P0u6]
1 tsp of black pepper [黑胡椒]
1 tsp of garlic powder [大蒜粉]
1 tsp of onion powder [洋葱粉]
2 tsp of sesame oil [芝麻油] [Amazon Link: geni.us/xXaSpE]
1/4 tsp of salt or to taste
*DIPPING SAUCE*
2 tsp of sugar [白糖]
1 tbsp of hot water
1 tbsp of fish sauce [鱼露] [Golden Boy Brand Fish Sauce: geni.us/lCnXNH]
1 tbsp of lime juice [青柠汁]
2 small hot chilies [小米椒]
1 clove of grated garlic [大蒜]
*Instructions For Fried Egg Rolls*
2 cup of shredded cabbage, 1 cup of shredded carrot, 1 cup of leek, 1 cup of chives. 1 cup of bean sprout for some extra crunchy. I am also adding 1.5 cups of glass noodles (I soaked them in warm water for 10 minutes and dried it with paper towels. Take a scissor and cut it into short strips).
For the meat, I am using ground pork and some shrimp. Roughly cut the shrimp into small chunks. You can use different types of meat (beef, chicken) if you like. If you want this to be vegetarian you can add some tofu or skip the meat but adjust the seasoning amount in this recipe.
Crack 2 eggs in it for extra protein. Adding eggs will bring some moisture and hold everything together which is important to keep the egg roll tight and full pack.
Season the filling with 2.5 tbsp of soy sauce, 2 tbsp of oyster sauce, 1 tsp of black pepper, 1 tsp of garlic powder, 1 tsp of onion powder, 2 tsp of sesame oil, 1/4 tsp of salt or to taste.
Get your hands in there. Mix everything together. Don’t just roughly mix; you want everything to be well combined. You can cook a small amount in a frying pan to see if you need to adjust the flavor.
Before we started rolling, scramble one egg. We will use that to seal the egg roll.
Take a sheet, put some filling in the middle(For 6.5 inches size sheets I use about 2 tbsp of filling).
Form it into a long shape. Lift the corner up and fold it in half. Pull it back a little bit to make sure it is tightly packed. Roll one circle then fold two sides. Keep rolling it. Then sew the egg roll.
Egg rolls do freeze well: you can make a lot at a time and then freeze them (make sure you leave space between each other before freezing). Whenever you want to eat them again, take it out and fry them directly for 8-10 minutes.
I am using soybean oil to fry the egg rolls. Heat it up to 350 degrees. And remember, do not throw in the egg roll when the oil is cold or else you will end up with extremely oily egg rolls. You don’t want that.
Fry them until golden brown. It will take about 8 minutes. Once you can feel the surface is hard and crispy. The color looks nice. You can take it out. Use paper towels to get rid of the oil.
*MAKE THE DIPPING SAUCE*
2 tsp of sugar, 1 tbsp of hot water (because you want to make sure the sugar is dissolved), 1 tbsp of fish sauce, 1 tbsp of lime juice, 2 small hot chilies, 1 clove of grated garlic. Mix it up, and the sauce is done.
very good cook , you are the the best Asian food cook in youtube.
Thank you so much 😀
I just made these last week and THEY ARE HANDS DOWN THE BEST EGGROLL I HAVE EVER EATEN. I'm no lying. I ground my own pork, used store bought wrappers; and I ended up with 25 of these little beauties! I make her sesame and general Tso's chicken too- they are amazing as she says they are! This video is starkly different than her newer ones... still in her apartment with old pots and pans, but don't let that fool you! She shows that you don't need fancy pots and pans to make this amazing food! Try it!
This bright young woman is a delight. Her recipes, and her presentation skills, make this channel a wonderful find!
Robert Goss. She really is. I am a British woman of African origin watching from London and I find her cooking videos one of the best - and the best to follow - on RUclips.
@@nnemichi1148 Mandy's recipes always work out. I have made Beef chow mein, steamed pork buns and some others which I have forgotten. When I cook chinese I always use Mandy's recipe's.
I have been very unwell and just out of hospital and I gave no appetite. Before I became ill I bought your wok as I love Chinese food and my other woks just couldn’t get hot enough as they seemed so thick.
As a surprise tonight my husband made these spring rolls. They were gorgeous and so tasty with the thai sauce. He made enough to freeze so if I have a notion then I can easily have them.He loves your channel and loves the food even more.
Your husband is so sweet. I am glad you liked it. Hope you feel better soon =)
I'm learning so much watching this intelligent young women! She is a natural born teacher, and so likeable.

You explain your recipe so well. Thank you for sharing. short, sweet and to the point.
I was my sister’s last night and we made mini ones with red cabbage ,carrots, pieces of one chicken thigh and we used water to seal them up. they were amazing! I ate like ten of them lol. I will make this recipe though can’t wait to woo my guest. Thank you 🙏

Adorable lady!
My wife and I love Chinese food. My Godson, Nephew and Niece all spent time in a China teaching English. My Godson came back with a wife from China. I have yet to meet her, and hope some day I will! But in the mean time getting Chinese food has been a restaurant thing. Thank you for sharing these recipes. Some of these things sound delicious and I haven’t even tasted them yet!

They look lovely. I adore egg rolls. Thank you
Don't forget the degrees Celsius... there are civilized people watching your videos!!
@@YoLo-sq8kq Wrong! Eight out of ten Chinese Take Out egg rolls are mostly celery and cabbage with almost no flavor. Mandy makes her food with premium ingredients and interesting taste. Why do you have a problem with that? And why do you twist her words?
Omgoodness…this sauce!! Wow!
I've really been loving your videos, you are so well-spoken I don't just mean because you are speaking English, I mean in general, you are very well-spoken, most cooks on youtube do not explain things well at all! I've made multiple of your recipes so far and they are all so good, I change them a little at times for my taste so good!
Your videos never disappoint. Most RUclips cooking videos are painful to watch or just plain pretentious. Yours are straightforward and dont skimp on necessary steps and details. No "magic" involved where suddenly a perfect eggroll appears on a carefully manicured plate with garnishes and 3 layers of instagram filters. You just cook and you show us every step of the way with perfect explanation.
Never stop. RUclips needs you!
I made the recipe with shrimp and can honestly say that they turned out to be the best egg rolls that I have ever had. On a side note, I had my reservations about the fish sauce when I first watched the video..... I was sorely mistaken. I used Korean gochugaru pepper in it and it turned out absolutely, positively delicious!!! Thank you again for another terrific recipe!!!!
I made your orange chicken recepie after studying many cooks ..my family has loved Chinese/ asian food forever .My family loved the orange chicken .The most authentic on here .Thank you.
Better than take out. Looks much more delicious than in any restaurant. Love it Mandy!
Thank you for watching and liking my videos. Wish you a happy new year!
Too many restaurants use the frozen variety
I made this recipe as described yesterday. Family loved it and downed all of it in one sitting. I, on the other hand, was surprised by the subtle taste, which I think doesn't stand up to frying. So I'm making it again today, adding 2 teaspoons each of ginger and garlic, and 2 dried, re-hydrated Shiitake mushrooms to the filling. The yield is fantastic for so little meat and shrimp. This is a keeper. Thank you for your very detailed, very informative cooking videos, and demystifying Chinese cooking.
Your recipes have turned out perfect for me every time. My mom's last home-cooked meal was led off with these rolls and she was tickled with them.
Thanks and keep the videos coming!
Mandy, you’re the best🎉 it’s really clear explaining , good & bad what can happen clearly explain & showing details with your experience details sharing recipes. Step by steps showing that really good to learn for beginners & home cooking. Well done Mandy! I’m always your top fan
I just stumbled upon your channel, and now I'm hooked! I am cooking these tomorrow, I can't wait to try them! I've made similar to these in the past. An old neighbor was was Vietnamese taught me her way. I've already written down several of your recipes. You make them where even people like me can make really great home made Asian foods, without overpaying for take out and having it covered in so much oil like they do! I adore you, you're beautiful and awesome! Thank you for making these videos.

my 6 yr old son watched your video with me he wanted to tell you, "you made a great video, we will try your recipe tomorrow!" :) thanks so much!!
She is so aesome. I love her cooking! She makes asian cuisine adorable, like her!
You made the eggroll sheets beautifully!! Who doesn't love egg rolls and egg rolls are power packed with healthy ingredients. They're so versatile.
When reheating food, place a grill over a pot of boiling water. The food, frozen or cold, can be put in an aluminum pie pan or a sheet of tin foil, atop the grill over the boiling water. This method is great for food that has already been fried, or any cold leftovers! And if people find it difficult to shred the cabbage/veges, shredded cabbage can be found prepackaged in the produce dept.

Hi I would like to have Lemon Chicken recipe.
Did you use the same ingredients or your own?
Yeah and you weigh 300 lbs. This recipe would taste if it was baked not fried.
Glock Nyneteen As the latest nutritionists are now saying: “Fat does not make you fat”. New thinking!
Was the pork cooked enough ? I feel it would need longer ?
I love watching your channel. You make cooking fun!
I’m telling you Mandy, I watch one of your videos and crave that dish! 😂 I just made my version of egg rolls/lumpia. I call mine Soul Rolls 😉 I basically use every vegetable in my bin. I chop zucchini, red bell peppers, purple onions, broccoli, carrots, parsley, and garlic - all fresh. I use ground chicken.
I’m lazy, so I’m using store bought wrappers, but they’re super crispy when air fried! I can’t wait to make the sauce. I’ll let you know how it’s received!!
Thanks again Mandy!

Ah, ut the best trick of all is to use a vegetable for th wrpper, like collard greens. Now you re not eating the flour-egg wrapper.

I made these and they are amazing...I made a meal out of Mandy's recipes for my family at holidays and my sisters are both making them now and with amazing success and enjoyment--also a great crowd pleaser with the teenagers! ty again Mandy!
This is my all time favorite Chinese food. I get these frozen at the store or fresh at the mall. But yours looks 10 times better! I've got to use your recipe and make them fresh for myself. Thank you for sharing your recipes!
I only just discovered your channel and can't wait to try some of your recipes. Your presentations and enthusiasm are delightful.
Thank you! I used bought wrappers (and forgot the oyster sauce) but they came out fantastic! ❤️ them. My biggest worry when cooking is that things wont be cooked right through, so I made 50 and cooked the worst looking ones to try them before freezing the rest. I forced my self to stop worrying and took them out when they were a beautiful golden colour and they were cooked perfectly. So happy 😁
Did you freeze them before cooking? I really could not eat or serve that many in a few days. I have to freeze them.
@@robinlondrow9263 It's December 2022. I just found these at the bottom of the chest freezer. I have an air-fryer these days so I sprayed some with a bit of oil and put them in for 7 minutes at 205c.
