I take it the audio is [at least somewhat] randomized too, and you took the time to list out what the particular sequence of audio happened to be this time? That's so frickin cool! I love finding these little online subcultures surrounding the most random things, it's downright fascinating! I've played OoT at least 20 or 30 times (rookie numbers, I know), but I didn't even know about these randomizers until this week! Like obviously I knew they were a thing; I've done a pokemon nuzlocke and I was tangentially aware of the concept, but it's so much more interesting than I had expected (for this game)! Especially the whole 'no logic' thing.. I cannot fathom the level of game knowledge required to figure out some of the puzzles in this video. Absolutely nuts. Do people do Majora's mask randomizers? For whatever reason my brain feels like that would be several orders of magnitude more difficult, but that might just be residual trauma from the first time I tried that game and the time mechanics addled my young mind...
Well at least I wasn't the only one doing that, but I also noted all entrance destinations and timestamped all item checks etc. Not even as detailed a text file as the one I did for one of the Triforce hunt randos. Damn I spend my time well sometimes
I love how chat is so conditioned to respond as a group to all sorts of situations - inappropriate randomised music, ZFG cheating, saying shut up, it’s all so great.
There's something so insanely cool about mixed entrance pools. The thought of there being a gigantic ghostly desert inside the skull house is great, or an ancient temple inside of a storefront. Really takes the fantasy aspect of the game to another level and just floods my brain with dopamine

I tend to lean towards Link being cursed at the start of the game to wander and never truly get where he's going (but full clear everything else on the way)
they do that a few times in Banjo Kazooie, but on purpose! Same thing with Yooka-Laylee (which is the spiritual successor to BK). That's one of my favorite fun little changes you can make to a game world, simply because it can't happen in real life. I mean, haven't we all wanted a closet that opened up to a magical forest? I've been watching this game for ages and the shit he had to pull to get certain things to work I've never seen before - because you're never going to see them in speedruns because they're so irrelevant to anything else.

Despite having watched Zfg for a while now, I had never sat down and watched an entire rando. But after reading through some of the comments on this vid when it originally got posted talking about how crazy this seed had been, I knew I had to check it out. Oh boy was I not disappointed. This was amazing, Zfg, thank you for doing all you do, even if it’s just entertaining a bunch of people by going fast and breaking a 23 year old game
the fact that the solution to this seed was ONLY possible in rando is something i didn't even know was possible ZFGenius proving once again that he is a world-class mind
spoiler i kind of feel the conclution that it was beatable was wrong. first it is not possible in the original game and he never otherwize use warping (i assume it was bound to the specific room ID to teleport to the same room ID in the other temple) not much different from teleporting to the final boss from the beggining. (assuming it had to do with the room id and not just the heigt when teleporting back)

(last 3 min of the video) To be able to gain more time he tried to climb the bridge which was not possible as young link (did not glitch out and stand ontop) only as adult however it did not gain enough time to perform the warp. I also recall he was not able to enter the area as adult in the game (This throw away any possibility of it being remotely possible) due to the entrance to the temple was unavailable as adult link. (This one im not sure about since it was a while ago i watched the video however he was lockedout from atleast 1 temple as adult) with that said. as adult climbing the bridge and maybe bomb climbing ontop of it could have solved the time frame issue which was not tested (however his own conclusion was that it is as not possible to perform it on the original game)
I watched all 9 hours and seeing the video finally hit the end, and there only being silence now, I'm left feeling empty knowing that was probably the single best, most memorable, and most interesting rando that I've ever seen... and I'll never get to watch it for the first time again. ZFG is so chill, and I love how he answers questions without getting mad. This was recommended when I was right in the middle of a usedpizza stream and honestly I don't think I'll ever watch another one of DP's vids. He's so angry and kind of a douche. Can't wait to catch one of these live.
I was a fan of Usedpizza too. I still kind of like him because he streams games that other people would not and has higher skill than any variety streamers I have seen, but he can be tough on the audience for sure, and trashes basically any game he plays, which I thought was a joke at first. The only reason I really stopped watching is because I never notice when he is on, probably because he plays Poke'mon too much. I got into him when he was basically the only person to do randomizer with fun settings and do it consistently, but then he began to hate randomizer, which I honestly began to get tired of it too. ZFG can make Ocarina of Time fun after all these years - very talented with a good personality and lots of legacy knowledge. My only fault with ZFG is that he is so focused on tricks that it gets tiring to watch the exploits rather than the intended method. Sometimes an exploit is used when the intended method is actually better. I also wish he would check over the areas he uncovered already more often and play more naturally, maybe leave this session for a second day. But I never saw someone do a randomizer at slow pace so far, which I think is a big shame.

I have searched for years to find the holy grail of speed run triumph. this is it. a well known game with the most bizarre run attempt. if there is any video that deserves to be preserved in the history of speedrunning it is this video.
This is the stinkiest seed I've ever seen ZFG play. He nearly had 100 tokens by the end, and was "softlocked" out of the two most important items in the game.
As somebody who had this turn up in their recs, this is like watching a really familiar shakespeare play, but in a foreign language, all the scenes are changes around, the actors have swapped costumes and everybody else seems to be following along just find.
As soon as I saw the very first item I knew this would be a rough seed. Every time these randos start out well they always end up being bastards towards the end. What a great video though. Full rando is the best rando!

This was sick, I watched the entire thing even as an ADD fuck, I had to see this whole thing. May or may not have fell asleep watching, but instantly came back as soon as I woke up lolol this was awesome bro.
The thing about the vote is, ZFG only knew where the song was because he looked at the logs. If he hadn't then he never would have tried to do the spirit temple thing which means he never would have gotten the song or completed the game. The spirit of the vote was essentially whether lullaby was locked behind lullaby, not whether ZFG would break the game to get Lullaby. One can argue it's poorly worded, but using the standard glitches he regularly uses, this was not beatable. I think the way the vote was determined was fair. It was "Unbeatable."

ZFG is so chill, and I love how he answers questions without getting mad. This was recommended when I was right in the middle of a usedpizza stream and honestly I don't think I'll ever watch another one of DP's vids. He's so angry and kind of a douche. Can't wait to catch one of these live.
I was a fan of Usedpizza too. I still kind of like him because he streams games that other people would not and has higher skill than any variety streamers I have seen, but he can be tough on the audience for sure, and trashes basically any game he plays, which I thought was a joke at first. The only reason I really stopped watching is because I never notice when he is on, probably because he plays Poke'mon too much. I got into him when he was basically the only person to do randomizer with fun settings and do it consistently, but then he began to hate randomizer, which I honestly began to get tired of it too. ZFG can make Ocarina of Time fun after all these years - very talented with a good personality and lots of legacy knowledge. My only fault with ZFG is that he is so focused on tricks that it gets tiring to watch the exploits rather than the intended method. Sometimes an exploit is used when the intended method is actually better. I also wish he would check over the areas he uncovered already more often and play more naturally, maybe leave this session for a second day. But I never saw someone do a randomizer at slow pace so far, which I think is a big shame.
@@sigurdtheblue if you want to watch a zootr at a slow pace, watch Attacking Toucans, he has episodic randomizers at a slower pace for pretty much every Zelda game

I have searched for years to find the holy grail of speed run triumph. this is it. a well known game with the most bizarre run attempt. if there is any video that deserves to be preserved in the history of speedrunning it is this video.
This is the stinkiest seed I've ever seen ZFG play. He nearly had 100 tokens by the end, and was "softlocked" out of the two most important items in the game.
After finally finishing the session, I can conclude this is the best one yet. Zfg is amazing!
The amount of random bs in a randomizer would easily get me confused, it's amazing you managed to speed run it in 9 hours

I watched this one live and this was the most exciting RANDO I have seen.
As somebody who had this turn up in their recs, this is like watching a really familiar shakespeare play, but in a foreign language, all the scenes are changes around, the actors have swapped costumes and everybody else seems to be following along just find.

The thing about the vote is, ZFG only knew where the song was because he looked at the logs. If he hadn't then he never would have tried to do the spirit temple thing which means he never would have gotten the song or completed the game. The spirit of the vote was essentially whether lullaby was locked behind lullaby, not whether ZFG would break the game to get Lullaby. One can argue it's poorly worded, but using the standard glitches he regularly uses, this was not beatable. I think the way the vote was determined was fair. It was "Unbeatable."
