    The "Super Defiant"
The SX-25 is was introduced in 1940. It is an upgrade to the lower cost SX-24 "Defiant" introduced the prior year. With 12 tubes compared to 9 in the SX-24, the SX-25 featured push-pull audio in place of the single-ended audio of the SX-24 and an additional tuned RF stage for all bands except AM broadcast.

Thanks! A like and subscribe from me. This is the best video I have seen on the SX-25. I have one and want to restore it. I am not new to radio restorations or Hallicrafters radios but always like to see someone else do it before I do one. I also have some other Hallicraters receivers lying around I need to restore such as a SX-28, SX-100 Mark 1A, S-40, S40A, S-40B, S-20R, S-38C.

Thank you so much for your support, I would love to get my hands on a Hallicrafters SX-28, but they are hard to come by now a days. The ones I’ve see usually are missing lots of parts and almost impossible to restore. Thank you please be on the lookout for the last part, RF alignment! Thank you very greatly appreciate your support.

I will look for your future RF video. I bought my SX-28 to restore about 5 years ago when decent ones could still be had. It is in good condition, untouched and unmolested, and has no rust. It was very filthy, like it had been stored somewhere for a very long time in a dry place. At some point I will restore the SX-28, but plan on doing the SX-25 first. @@thevintageaudiolife

@@Francescawine if you have filament (6 and 5 volts) but no high voltage then most likely your transformer has an open. This is very common issue with this model, you see a lot of transformers going bad due to capacitors shorting out on high voltage. Time for a transformer replacement.
