“She made you decent, and in return you made her sooo happy” loved it.
My Favourite quote from this movie.
yeah...for a short time, she wait him to be a man and then die
Doesn't seem like he made her happy honestly but maybe Ive only seen the wrong clips (?)
This movie cost everyone a heartbreaker
Gosh, this line hurts in every way possible.
This movie hit home on me. My best friend and I grew up together. We had a relationship like this. He was so hurt when he heard I met someone and was getting married. Well me and him broke up and never married. Too late for me and my friend, he got married and then seen me a few years later and discovered I never married. Well, he had a baby on the way and just stared at me for what felt like a lifetime, before he slowly touched my face and left. Fast forward a few more years and we meet again 2 weeks after I just married. He was on baby number 3 with his wife who cheats on him and not even sure the baby is his. He cried when I told him I just got married. Now he and his family live in my town again and we see each other weekly we work beside each other in town. When we see each other we don't even talk we make eye contact and drop our gaze. A few times his eyes spoke words to me and I saw tears. We both know it will never work between us it's too late for us. I love my husband, and I won't dream of ever hurting him in such a way. Life sucks sometimes. Sorry for the long post, never told anyone this before and I guess I wanted to vent.
Wow, thank you for sharing your story 😦❤️
Wow..
This got me invested, I need a update hows your life
@@fatimakhan-wy7tl me too really
Tiffany Whitaker you guys both deserve happiness
This story screams one thing "if you love that person, tell them."
Well , don’t.
they did tell each other it just time is the best answer
They did, but the girl had such a strong trust issues to him
@@lavivalabiba3148 And what mess that turned out. Good to watch though not to live through
Sometimes you just have to move on.
I don't understand why this trailer portraits it like a happy, funny romantic comedy ,when in reality this is a very dramatic carousel of emotions that just shatters you in pieces and makes you reflect about all the chances you didn't take in life.
Omg I was thinking about it
Exactly I guess that’s why this trailer is good it doesn’t spoil anything
this was the intentions even the Netflix trailer and synopsis portrayed it as a happy romantic love story
It's better this way because it really takes you by surprise! I'm here now after watching the Netflix adaptation, and without even knowing this story already existed before in a movie and a book and I just loved the series!! It really has some shocking plot twists hehehe
Such is life... Happiness 😊 and Grief 😢 in what feels like equal measurements...but it just feels that way when we lose the one's we love in our life. ❤
Just casually watching this trailer, after crying my eyes out over the Netflix show
me too
I’m sorry but the movie hits harder
Same 😢
@@haleenaphillips9202 i have to agree. one of the best adaptions. the book is something different. the this adaption does it justice. on second episode of the netflix version. maybe i should stop and rewatch this version instead.
Duas.
This movie makes you feel all giggly and happy and then totally rips your heart out in the end. That guy is such a good actor. I love this movie!!
katiegirl235 is it a sad ending story?
yes but a very good saddest one
for me... this movie has two great actors and i'll enjoyed them performance using boxxy software and with dubbing
Jung Kookieh it’s a perfect sad one
Both are. But that truck thou
You can live your whole life not realizing that what you're looking for is right in front of you.
Arjay Hapon Actually I think he knew all along, it's just that he wasn't ready, and neither was she. They both needed to find themselves before being truely good for each other.
Well said
its always in front of us
I love him so much but he couldn’t say it back
not really, i mean all the time.
Still dehydrated from watching this movie 4 years ago.

You ever loved someone so much you wish you'd never met them. I used to say I can't imagine my life without her, yet here I am.
Same here
Yep.
Yep that feeling is awesome as well as most disastraous too
real
"I love you...I just dont like you anymore" After watching this movie, I finally got the words to say when finally killing that cancerous disaster of a relationship. Some relationships will just suck you dry and chew on your bones long after youre gone.
I said those words to someone once and all my friends though I was crazy (if you love him why leave him??), but now I know this happens with others too. After a few months/years though you get over it and can get very happy again
Sara Colpaert "If you love him, why leave him?" Sometimes its best to leave him before the love you cherish sours into a many headed monster that does nothing but cause pain. The is a big difference between long-suffering during trying times and self destruction by trying to maintain a relationship that is no longer there, people from the outside watching in rarely ever see that.
+Bylee Malox yes that is exactly what I meant outsiders don't see that most of the time
I was on that position a time ago, I loved him, but he was slowly killing me. Didn't trust me, said I was dumb, didn't believe in me. Thought I wasn't going to graduate. It was horrid. And I loved him still, finally gathered the courage to stand up for myself and end it. My life rn is amazing, I'm with a guy that values me as me, loves me and is my #1 fan. I'm in the university and I'm one of the best grades in my group. It gets so much better if you let go.
Sarias it’s been 1 year and I still think of him but good to know it’ll pass
Just finished watching this movie and honestly I can't stop crying. So beautiful. "She made you decent, and in return you made her so so happy." My favorite quote. :)
@Laila Claire Adjaluddin Well you kinda need to watch the movie, but the dude was an alcoholic/bad boy for half the movie, but when he was around Emma in the movie he was happier. And she had a crush on him the whole movie and was happy when they were around each other. lmao thats all. This was also said after she died so it was an attempt to also make the dude feel better about losing her.
Movie link?
I just didnt understand how he made her happy..all that i saw was he was hurting her intentionally or unintentionally..
Mine too :)
@@sairabatool3163 He did make her happy.. Although their happiness was really short in the end... That was not fair given how long they loved each other... Especially Emma.
This movie hit my emotions like a bus.
Or like the truck that hit her

Im still crying on 2020. Life is so short tell someone you love how you really love them

i just finished watching it :’((
Even if they're with someone else?
I thought this was a simple romance movie about bestfriends to lovers, I was wrong. Their story was more than just the cliche genre. The pain still lingers on me whenever I think about this movie. I was rooting for them the second they met each other in a random night, wasted and free. I was rooting for them when she starts to put a distance between them. I was rooting for them when he starts to realize he love her more than just a friend. I beg on the stars the night I watched this movie to give them the happiest ending but the fictional world won't let it be. I was already crying the moment they admit to themselves that they are definitely meant for each other, that they have been soulmates all their lives and they keep turning a blind eye on each other. Those time wasted from doubts and hesitations stole their moments, it stole the time they could have shared with each other, loving and caring and living together. I am sure they both fell in love with each other the moment they first met, when they sleep side by side even though they just met connect all the puzzle pieces of their lives. They were for each other. They were lost on the comfort of having each other but kept a distance because they might burn when they let their love be free from their hearts. Because they thought they could ruin it, the chemistry that connects both of their souls. But they didn't know they were each others' medicines, they were their own saviors. That if they admit their feelings the first time they felt it, everything would change. But that is the magic of plot twist, they made us realize that hesitating could make our lives burn into ashes. Their love was the moment, the day they admit that they love each other was the most magical moment. I am madly sad about how their moments were cut short by an accident. I was already happy that they found each other. I was already happy because they stopped denying the fact that they meant for each other. But reality is playing on me, she has to go and he has to live without her forever. The time stole their moments. But still they created tons of memories that time cant steal even when they part ways forever.
This movie broke my already broken heart.
Me too 😢
I watched it again last night, it broke my heart again :'((
I was about to say the same thing.

I don't know why I'm watching trailers from movies that released 5 years ago....
Cuz the ninja is cutting onions :-

I'm too. haha
This is honestly my favorite movie. So many other movies either romanticize or dramatize life. This movie really shows the way life is - it has its ups and downs and moves in a different pace for everyone. I also love that they portray relationships in a very down to earth way and they manage to depict how different each relationship can be.
I watched the trailer three hours ago and just got back here after watching the movie too and I have to say this, watching this movie made me feel emotions I didn’t even know I had in me, one of the most beautifully heart wrenching movie ever.
Don't let the cheesy trailer deceive you it's actually a really good movie
It's a great movie brother
leah I m going to watch it right now
Sunita Gupta does it have a sad ending????
Movie link?
Agree really good movie. But the ending was horrible. Horribly sad. I cried.
I am really shocked that I can relate to this movie on so many levels. Platonic friendships can be confusing because you either see each other as good friends or you both secretly want to be together romantically but won't say how you feel to each other.
I also think that a lot of the time feelings are misunderstood to be romantic when they're not. It's tricky :)
yeah it’s actually crazy especially the second one you said its been months since i was in a situationship and i still think ab it😭😭
Absolutely one of the saddest and most beautiful movies I have ever seen
Genevieve Mercedes so the girl is dead or what?
Jung Kookieh yes she was dead (accidentally tragedy with his bicycle between a car)
Can you recommend more of these types of movies??
@@azad738 a year to live
@@azad738 have you watched "Safe Haven" from Nicholas Spark!!
Same kinda movie but still "one day" is one of the best realistic ❤️
We started a hazy relationship in 1988, same year as the movie. Never got together for some unexpected reasons. Years later I moved out of the country. We met once each few years. She lost her life in a tragedy a day after we met in 2023. I played Queen's Love of my life at her funeral. Buried a stone engraved with our story with her. I recommended this movie to her in 2013.
This so so so sad .
So sorry! Life is so precious
😭💔😭💔😭💔
for me "One Day" is actually the best romance movie I've ener seen (and trust me I have watched almost every single one of them). Every time I watch it my heart begins to hurt. It is so realistic, the love between Dexter and Emma is so pure, unique and the movie shows a love story I imagine experiencing (begins from a friendship to something complicated and hard to define, stops after a little bit and then evolves to a lifetime commitment). They are what they call soulmates. No matter in which life-phase the two characters are, they love each other and they think about each other. The viewer can actually feel this love. This movie fills me with so many emotions. I could never imagine that a movie could have such a huge impact to me. No matter how many times I watch it I always cry.
There are several good ones from Rachel McAdams, Morning Glory and the Time traveler´s wife are good. Also Meet Joe Black from Brad Pitt.
The ending made me cry.
And now I'm listening to the soundtrack featured in the film and weeping into my pillow.
+viral gujarati : We Had today - Rachel Portman :)
+viral gujarati - and the one in the trailer is Good Life - One Republic. :)
don't forget about robbie williams - angels! 😆 it breaks my heart everytime i listen to the song because it reminds me to Emma and Dexter
Akanksha Gupta Nooooooo What The Hell
Plz can.u tell me the name of sound track at very beginning of trailer..
There's one thing that I learned in this movie.. It's not about the person you like or your type, It's about the person who cared so much for you in any kinds of situations in your life and will always be there at the edge of your life.
When you are so heartbroken that you decide to watch a romantic film and you end up worse.

I was not prepared for this movie. I could never have been prepared for how it ended. This is the kind of movie that spawns a fandom.
Don't be fooled by the trailer. This movie is actually one of the best love movies I have ever watched. ❤️ I cried like hell.
Is it available on Netflix?

Dreamy2dream how did you find it?
This and A Walk to Remember are the saddest movies ever! I don't know how many times I got to suddenly crying everytime I remember all of the scenes in these two movies. The storyline were so realistic too. These two movies made me sooo afraid of losing the people I love, yet sometimes I know for sure that's going to happen one day 😭
I don't know why the concept of the movie reminds me of "Love, Rosie". Definitely gonna watch this!
Oh Yh it kinda is like love Rosie ………………..until the ending.🥲
I loved it. But during the scenes before it happened...where they they were talking about getting pregnant, and the scene where she was riding her bike... did anyone else get this sickening feeling in your chest, like you knew something was just off, or that something terrible might happen? That happened to me, and its strange because you only expect that to happen as a sort of warning in real life, not for some movie...
+Oscar Argueta YES! Exactly the same with me. I was like "No please no. Nonononononono NO!"
+Oscar Argueta i felt the same i can understand what you saying..amazing movie
Yes I felt the exact same!! I felt like something was gonna happen but I just didn't want to believe it. :(
I was like the bike beside her is so gonna hit her and when it didn't I was like thank God then.... Bam splash she is dead and I eve thought she was gonna be in a comma or something but not dead 😭😭😝
did she die instantly from the crash? or was she alive for a bit..?
I remembered I finished the whole book from start to the end in one flight from Edinburgh to Rome. Then I watched the movie. I felt such a sense of loss at the end. One of my favorite movies of all time.
I have watched the movie like for million times, and watched fan edited parts, fan made version, the cuts, and still never get enough of it. This is how a good movie makes you fall in love every single time.
Just stumbled upon it on Netflix and decided to give it a chance. And what! It was worth it. Everything was perfect. I did not cry after the movie but I felt it.
The difference with them as time flew was perfect. Dexter in his early twenties was so young and handsome.
Every few years I watch this film and it reminds of a quote "what a mess we made; trying to prove we don't need each other"
People actually do that intentionally?... Like, fight love?
... Meanwhile I'd die to feel something like that and would never let it go.
The music at the beginning of the trailer is from the movie "Life as a House". It's 'Building a Family by Mark Isham'. Took me years to find this piece of beautiful music. Enjoy! :) like this comment so that it stays at the top and anyone who wants to know will be able to find it. Thanks. :)
Thanks!

Can you be in love with a movie that makes you cry every time you watch it...
Well I sure can..all these years and my love for this movie just won’t fade! ♥️♥️
It's totally an eternal bliss of sentiments with circumstances, more than a movie. You're correct, Gurl.
I really wanted to feel emotion’s yk but Idk why I didn’t cried at all😔
Same here. This is one of the movies I would re-watch and cry lol😂
Watch the movie "I still believe"...it will make u cry a lot than this...❤❤❤
I first watched it over than twelve years ago when I was single without kid. Then watch again during my 40s with kid and my man. It’s still touching, grateful I am with the same person over than twenty years and I have chance to tell him how much I love him. 🎉😢. Love this movie so much.
I love Anne Hathaway but this definitely feels like 2 actors in a movie. Whereas the series breathes so much life into these characters. I'm gonna give it a second watch now🥰🥰
5 years ago I watched this movie and I am still left with that empty feeling after watching it.... no tears left in me.
I love how the same actor can change so much every year, it's like they keep going into the future to get him.
I've seen this movie 10 years ago. Never thought, that "I love you... but I don't like you anymore" will influence my life that hard
It's absolutely the best line in the film.
Beautiful Movie
Love the line, "She made you decent & you make her happy!"
Yeah and me too ^_^
Every now and then I go back to this video and scroll back to comments. It feels so wholesome here, just sharing our own stories knowing that we won't be judged
I didn't like that he took her as his last choice, she was there all along but it wasn't until the end that he decide to be with her. I wouldn't want to be a guy's last choice
+c0sal1nda Well, true. But i guess there are just times when u love someone so much that other stuff just don't matter.
No tea no shade, that's sounds more like an obsession then love. Love yourself first and have selfrespect. You can care for someone without letting them disrespect you
c0sal1nda Am a guy and i approve ur comment
c0sal1nda she wasn't his last choice... he just wasn't mature enough to see that he was falling in love with her. It's very realistic actually, I mean he was trying to find his way in life, and he was obviously attracted to her, but he didn't want to ruin the friendship by sleeping with her, cuz he thought she was special, someone worth talking to, someone worth keeping in his life. When his mom died she was still by his side, which she wouldn't have been had it been just a drunken fling. It's a good thing that he matured and finally found her. Better than him having cheated on her when he was younger and dumber. He had to learn to appreciate what was really important. And when she died it was basically karma for all the bad things he did. He lost the only thing that made him a good person, so that he could learn to be a good person on his own. Which he eventually did.
I think at the he didnt realized he loved her.
Whatever happens tomorrow we have today❤️
She made you decent and in return you made her so happy❤️

Back in 2012, on a plane back home from Vegas, I was in a ball of tears when I watched this film.
Not knowing that I would finally meet [again] the love of my life, my chemistry classmate from high school would turn out to be my husband and the father of my beautiful children [brats].
Dang, from a friendship that started in 1999, we lost contact in 2004, reconnecting in 2012, then actually marrying each other in 2014.
I'm just lucky that he found me.
I've watched this movie a million times and whenever I remember Dex crying I just lost it. Emma and Dexter deserved so much better. 😭😭😭
I think a good movie isn't when everyone find that only thing that makes that movie beautiful, but when everyone (with his education, heritage or situations of life) find different things that makes the movie perfect. I think this is one of these movies !
I had to punch a wall to feel manly again.
YOOOOOO na man i had to do like at lest 100 push ups yo this movie got to me
+Victor Lazo I was like forreal? A damn truck
+Darius Pryor bro like for real that really got me thinking about life and how short shit is man like it wasn't like she die slowly or she was sick no boom she die out of no were that poor guy life suck the only thing that came out good was his kid
+Victor Lazo bro I know what you mean. I knew something was gonna happen because it was like 28 mins of the movie left and they are married. I was like they are either gonna fight or someone is gonna die. I still wasn't ready for it.
+Darius Pryor i had the same feeling but a bus a fucking bus ... Smh i thought she couldn't make baby's and that was gonna be a big twist but na she dies idk this movie and the note book 😅 i need to watch some like action movie maybe die hard or pulp fiction lml
Just finished watching this movie on Netflix and I highly recommended, I cried at the end and could not stop for 10 minutes. It is one of the best movies!💜
As a 37yo Male who almost never watch this kind of movies I had to say that it was an amazing amazing movie that I will remember for ever ,even the end made me cry
No matter how many times i watch it.. makes me cry..
It makes me feel we don't know how much time we have with someone and also things are supposed to happen when there's the right time for it.. we can't force it or try to make it happen sooner.. very emotional moviee
Jim Sturgess was so perfect
It’s not a movie it’s story of many people, it’s emotions of many people who were in love with someone very special. ❤️
I am a guy. I don't usually like romcoms. But this movie's ending broke my heart to pieces. To see the cruelty of life... the dreams you have as a young person and the actual things you accomplish as you grow... The fear to express your feelings to a person you love. And the tragic end you don't expect... And then the memory... And what perhaps could have been if we had been more honest about our feelings. That memory killed me.
that song 'good life' and that hug was so in sync emotionally. I watched the movie after I watched this. Its a great one. I'd totally recommend it.
This film is like life itself: a rollercoaster of good and bad times in which you don't know how much you love someone until you lose him/her.
Not overdramatic just pure love and realistic acting. Anna just mesmerizing. Love from Kerala 🇮🇳🌴
This is actually better than Love, Rosie. I always feel like it's more realistic, best storyline.
+Bevina Noviaputri Love, Rosie and One day are totally two different movies. No comparison.
Nope, but both have similiarities plot, boo.
+Ayman Hina , Same concept Love-Friendship. Love, Rosie is funnier, but One day is deeper and more realistic.

this is better than transformers
This movie remembered me Love,Rosie.
-The only difference is that Love,Rosie has a happy ending.

This is my favorite movie of all time.
For me, this is more realistic than other movies. The movie portrays how true love is formed and is worth the wait. 😊

Thanks for the spoiler omg you suck
I just finished the tv show and never knew about this movie. The tv show is miles better based on this trailer.
You’re basing your judgement on a trailer that’s less than 3 minutes long? It is a lovely film and Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess were great as Emma and Dex.
@@IndieCindy3 Yup! I’m basing it on my taste and preferences when it comes to the tv shows and movies I like to watch.
Just because you like it doesn’t mean I will, and it certainly doesn’t mean that it’s wrong if you like the movie. If I ever do watch it and it turns out I was wrong, I have no problem admitting that. But for now, that’s my opinion. 😅
@@heyybritny I’m a grown, rational woman. I understand that everyone has different tastes. Just seems silly to me to put down the film adaptation without ever having watched it. I love Pride and Prejudice and have seen so many versions of it (film and mini-series) and always welcome the new ones because I love the story and I get excited to see a different approach to the characters and to see the chemistry between the two leads. But sure, you keep doing you and pitting things against each other. I’ll keep on looking for (and finding) things to love instead of things to hate.
The emotions this movie gave me runs deep in my heart, soothing every corner of my being. It impacted me that much that it made me think of the past years of my life and all the chances I have missed to actually be brave and go for that special someone 🥺,gosh.

Who’s here because you first saw it on Netflix?😢💔
i'm rewatching the trailer of the movie because when i first saw it in the cinema when it was released, i didn't understand it, i hated it, i didn't believe in the chemistry of the characters and was frustrated with a weird and unexpected ending. and now that i've watched the series, the story makes complete sense to me now. i love how the casting directors of the netflix series picked the perfect actors, and not some well-known super-popular hollywood stars. Ambika is 100% Leeds girl, and Leo is 100% Dexter Mayhew. Their chemistry seems odd at first but then you realise that they're soulmates.
I don't know but as the movie starts to end someone starts cutting onions 🥺
She picked the wrong guy to love. He wasted so much of her emotions and time.
This.
She actually TRIED no not love him. But she couldn’t, her heart always leads her to him. Even when she tried not to.. she just failed everytime. And he finally realized that she was the only person who always there for him.
He wasn't the wrong guy he just wasn't matured enough and aware of his own feelings like Emma was... It took him a long time to realize but he did and Emma made her decision to be with him 🙂
Actually you don't choose love, you don't get to choose who you fall in love with. Love chooses you!
Love is like an accident. We cannot avoid it.
I came here after seeing the trailer for the Netflix remake. I'll watch this one first
The most beautiful, heartbroken and underrated movie! I´ve seen it so many times and still cry like a baby every time
Try watch 'One Day (2016)' Thailand romantic movie..saddest movie ever
I had crush on a girl we became besties we tried avoiding eachother but some argument and ego drifted us apart after watching this i wish i can go back in time and stop that from happening or be less egoistic and call her 😢
This movie was just wow and brilliant. I really wasn’t expecting such an emotion-filled rollercoaster. It truly captures all life has to throw at you. Highly recommend it!
i didn’t need this heartbreak. my heart had already been shattered into a million pieces this week. i literally just balled my eyes out
who is here after the One Day series?
Me!
When back in days i watched the movie ,it just , means the movie hit me up and my emotions.I literally cried watching it . Sometimes the person you are searching for is right in front of you but you just don't realise.
Never watched the movie, came to watch the trailer after watching the Netflix show (which I loved!!!!)- trailer really gives a lot away, huh?....
I saw a reel on Instagram and I didn't know the name of the movie so I searched using Google lens and found the name of the movie and watched it immediately. I am not a person that watches a lot of movies but I am definitely someone who listens to her heart when it comes to them. When I saw it on a reel, I felt compelled to watch it, an now that the moviei is over, I am at a loss for words. I feel so heavy as if something is missing. Although it was just a movie, it feels incredibly. Kudos to the entire team- the writers, directors, actors and everyone involved.
The chemistry between these leads was something else...nothing felt forced, cheesy, or unreal. Sometimes I forgot that they were acting :)
Yup
Okay just a learnt my lesson. Will not look at the comments before watching the movie cause u people can not just keep your mouth shut and avoid spoiling the ending
I totally agree. (/.\)
You shouldn't read the comments of a movie you haven't seen. People want to share their opinion so let them.
😂😂😂😂 well thank you, after i read your comment i decided to stop scrolling over comments and to watch the movie right away
You're stupid
I was dreading watching this movie because I thought it was going to be another cliche love story, but the trailer is deceiving it's actually really good with natural acting and a sad ending.
a truly truly sad ending that had me wishing it was a little cliche.
Thanks for the warning ! Almost wanted to watch this.
The horribly tragic ending ruined the movie for me and my husband. We were trying to have a nice relaxing time alone together after our child was in bed, I cried for an hour after it ended. If we would have known, we would have never watched the movie.
Nikki 90125 oh Gosh! That must be hard....
I feel so offended reading the comments saying to not watch this movie, that they hate sad endings, life itself doesn't have a "happy end" smh
Whatever happens tomorrow, we had today. I could never forget this line.
