    Simon, it would be good if there was option for the reverse light.

    it would be great if that has reverse lights on there too! not sure if its possible. this way we wont need 2 sets of extra lights to make up for the lack of brightness from the reverse.
    Great work as always Simon!

      Good point - i admit i have overlooked this as we have our reverse light option but the reverse light would give you a result. Maybe we just do TAIL and REVERSE - and forget brake and indicator ? ( not sure we can get RED and AMBER and WHITE leds all in that one strip ! )

    • @toddsilvia6952
      @toddsilvia6952 7 месяцев назад +4

      I believe this would sell well if white only option was interdicted. I already added added reverse lights so I wouldn’t buy it. But if I didn’t have already added lights, I would have bought this with reverse lights. Great work Simon. I enjoy all the videos.

    Simon, great job.
    Looks like there is no reverse light function though.
    Any chance of that in version 2?
    Also, what are the chances for doing it in the other finishes, grey / silver / etc to match other trim levels?
    Thank you.

    I really love all of Simon's cheerful sound effects. Makes me smile and no, I'm not making fun.
    @Simon, I'm not interested in this nice product for no other reason than I don't have a Defender. However, it did give me an idea that would be universal for any Land Rover that has a towbar and a suitable towball vertical load. I do believe they sell towball clamps. Like the ones that are used on bicycle carriers and the like. One problem that I and perhaps many have is that the privacy glass and the rather weak reversing lights, makes it difficult to reverse in dark spaces at night. Especially if it is raining or snowing. How about making a towball mounted step with integrated reversing lights. The lighting would simply plug-in to the vehicles 13pin trailer socket. The parts may be a bit too expensive to make it economically viable, but the technical aspects are easily handled by your wonderful ingenuity I think.

    • @johnwillett4086
      @johnwillett4086 7 месяцев назад

      I think PowerfulUK already do a pair of reversing / indicator lights that fit onto that little folded plastic bit that Simon removed.
      Simon - can you use the new step as sell as the reversing / indicator lights you do?

  • @davidexige

    Looks great, but if you already have the extra reversing lights fitted along with the wiring loom splitter that’s required for them is there enough room to fit another wiring loom that’s required for this. Hope that makes sense. Thanks.

    • @L663
      @L663  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes if you look in previous videos we had both connected and working - there is a lot of room - yes its a fiddle but plenty of room. Destinys job next week is to re-fit the reverse lights - we took them out so as not to confuse the video !

    Hello Simon, I have a question about the smoked lights. By chance do the NA and ROW lights have the same cables and sockets? I was thinking about getting the ROW smoked lights for my NA defender because I like the Euros, but I’m scared they might not have the same sockets. I hope to hear from you soon

    Adding this illuminated step also negates the issue of the driver’s side brake and indicator lights being blocked when the tailgate is opened when stopped with the hazard warning lights on as in the present set up.

    • @timoliver8940
      @timoliver8940 7 месяцев назад +1

      Old style protector should come off easily with some heat from a hairdryer to soften the double sided sticky tape and some dental floss or fine nylon fishing line to cut the softened glue

      The first batch of rear bumper covers we made were made from PP ( Polypropylene ) and this was really difficult to get anything to stick to.. so after that we changed to ABS plastic which bow sticks much better. The PP version are easy to remove - the ABS version needs a solid pull or you can follow the excellent advice Tim has shared in his reply.

    I have a US 2022 D90X which came with 4G WiFi. Is there a way to upgrade that to 5G and can I choose my cell carrier? I’m a bit confused about the whole situation and my service tech doesn’t seem to know either. It still gets over the air updates (I think) but no hotspot.
    I suspect that dead spots in the car’s 4G is confusing my iPhone and CarPlay functionality because my iPhone has to be on the WiFi of the car for CarPlay to work. Thanks!

    Yet another spiffing product from Sinon and the team!!! But I can’t get over the fact that Land Rover made a Tupperware vehicle!!!!
    None of their other vehicles can be dismantled with a plastic spatula like the defender!!!
    Totally ridiculous!!!
    As others have said having a reversing light in the stick on bumper would be brill!!!!!
    Regards
    Ian 👨‍🎤🇳🇿👍

    • @L663
      @L663  7 месяцев назад

      Hi Ian. There are some real issues to discuss here. Plastic is great - it does not rust ... it is light weight .... you can achieve design shapes that you cannot with aluminium etc... its cost effective.... it performs well in crash tests etc. Ineos have clearly used more metal building their cars ( although the rear panels in this area are plastic i believe ) but the car is just way way to heavy... has not passed crash test etc so its not a simple choice !

    • @ianscorey5293
      @ianscorey5293 7 месяцев назад

      Good morning Sinon
      Yes I agree with you that plastic is an excellent product!!!!
      But It’s made from fossil fuels, oils etc etc & it never completely breaks down!!!
      You ask all the creatures that live in the oceans of the world!!! Ghost nets, fishing lines and plastic bags and bottles!!!
      Naturally you need a lot of energy to create iron, steel & aluminium and that’s were fossil fuels come in again!!!
      Most people aren’t aware that carbon dioxide is only 0.03% of the world’s atmosphere… so bugger all!!!!
      And fools that want to go to zero carbon don’t understand photosynthesis!!! Plants need CO2 to create oxygen!!! And who needs oxygen???? Every living thing on the planet!!!
      You should check out Patrick Moore, the once head of the Green Peace Movement !!!!
      But the use of plastics to build a 4WD is kinda wrong in my opinion!!!
      And to be able to dismantle the 4WD in the street with a plastic spatula is crazy!!!
      I also note that Range Rover owners in London can’t get vehicle insurance on their lovely vehicles ‘cause they’re so damn easy to steal!!! Keyless entry is a bit of a joke when the local crims can use a cheap transmitter and steal your £150,000.00 Range Rover!!!
      Merry Christmas to you and your team!!
      Regards
      Ian Scorey from sunny Queenzland 👨‍🎤🇳🇿👍😂

    • @L663
      @L663  7 месяцев назад +2

      The problem here is when you turn off the lights - there is no power to support it during a power down - so unless we added a small capacitor or battery this is not possible.
