- Train almost 2 miles long with front-end power only crosses the diamond in logansport. A very late Triple Crown Roadrailer NS 256 rolls through Clymers, Indiana early in the morning. Filmed in Clymers and Logansport, Indiana on 2023-10-12
WTF?!?! I didn't know roadrailers still existed!
NS 255 and the 256 are the last two left on the rails
Two very cool trains very long, like the roadrailer, nice to see it is still being used. Thanks again for the video TY.
Thank you John
Love you great railfan videos. The wheels going over the rail connections in the last VERY LONG train sound they were saying, “This is stupid, stupid, stupid!” Relative to two-mile plus trains and with just two power units. At least that’s what I was hearing. Thanks again
Trains this long and not using DPUs you're more likely to break a coupler
I had never seen semi trailers in that configuration before. Thanks for posting!
hello the railroad tie spiker it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks the railroad tie spilker friends randy
Thank you Randy for watching
Nice catch! I have ever seen that many semi trailers 😂. You did a awesome job!
Thank you Tammy I believe it was 128 trailers on that Roadrailer
That was a long one. Whew. I got one last week that had 220 cars Two front engines and 2 Center DPUs. Heard one on the Harrisburg terminal when he gave the line up that was 13 thousand 400ft. long.
Wow 3,000 feet longer than this one. I filmed a coal train in Marion last month that had 7 locomotives on it two in the front three in the middle and two on the bottom all on line.
@@therailroadtiespiker N/S Harrisburg East line a little over 2 weeks ago i captured 8 engines on N/S 19G. 6 N/S locomotives a U.P. and a Canadian Pacific manifest train. I will probably never catch anything like that again.
That NS AC44C6M was trying to be an AC6000CW!
I don't think I've ever seen 199 that long before. Usually when I see it, it's a fairly short train.
Now I'm going to look at some of my older videos and see how long they have been in the past
Triple Crown was Looonnggg
Yes and it was about 15 hours late. It was the best catch of the day.... Lol
Train lengths are getting ridiculous. Some much longer than this. Especially true out here in the west. If the train is running at restricted speed, the crossings can be blocked for quite a length of time. This is concerning in smaller communities where access to emergency services are limited.
Out west they run them 3 miles long.
@@therailroadtiespiker Yes, quite often. Some with two sets of DPUs.
The lengths of these trains are primarily limited by the length of the sidings available on the route. I don't think we'll see trains over 10,000 feet long over Tehachapi Pass due to the limitations of the sidings on that route.
I wish you could've stuck around. TP&W showed up.just as a train was getting ready to come.east through the diamond
Same here Rick my wife had to go to work. It was a fun morning just didn't last long enough. Lol
Like the shots of NS Triple Crown roadrailers on straight stretch, just watched Jawtooth film one earlier, monster time freight, seen JT and Gambit, monster time freight!🛤🚂👍
The Roadrailers look as odd now as when they first started running. Somehow I've got to make a private car out of one of the AutoMax car carriers.🤣 It would be so huge. And as for whether or not the 2 mile train is too long, I will differ to the conductor for an opinion. I'm sure they would have a few thoughts.😊 😊😊
Yes especially when they break a coupler a hundred and forty cars back.
@@therailroadtiespiker Exactly.
I dont know if everyone knows that tkhe iron Horse Museum located at teh depot on 4th street in Logansport is about to be turned int a public restoom by the current mayor. Residents have petitions going to save the museum.
No I haven't heard about this.
It's just too bad Wabash National never could get the RoadRailer idea to work. They should have developed it specifically for United Parcel Service, with stronger-built trailers, and UPS could have ended up buying 5,000+ units for combined rail and road service.
I'm sorry, I can't help being immature, but that title, that's what she said, lol 😂
Lol my wife and I was just watching the Office this morning....
Was that Jaw Tooth I saw at the end of the video?
Yessss and 1960Gambit
