Hey Spike,awesome video. I had to create a new account because my old account was compromised. Take care my friend and have a good week 🇺🇸🙏🏻
@@BillMorris-55 sorry to hear that…. But welcome back and thank you for watching
Great to see that warbonnet. I can't figure out why BNSF hasn't jumped on the heritage fleet bandwagon, and painted some of their units in that silver and red. It looks so much better than the earlier BNSF H1, and many other paint schemes. Great catch.
@@samschaeffer8236 probably because they have all their paint schemes still running the rails… 😆 I still want to catch a Santa Fe in it’s original scheme I know there’s a few still out there.
War Bonnet looked like a Toaster that caught Fire. 🔥 There are a dozen or two of the 7xx Series still Running on the High Rails mostly in the Midwest. 🤔👍
@@kens.3729 this past spring a fake bonnet was on the westbound Roadrailer and I missed it. Ugh
I remember when those engines were first getting delivered. Back then NS had nearly zero engines with air conditioning. So when we would get put in the siding, we would go back fire them up and bask in the sweet, sweet refreshing AC.
@@schinbone0 lol it’s hard to believe they took so long to put AC in the cabs… wasn’t the Top Hat GEs the first to have AC?
@@therailroadtiespiker Yep the 8000's. They would either freeze you out or not work. If we got too cold we would just open the windows, because if you adjusted it AT ALL, it would shut off and not turn on again. No matter what you did, pull breakers, pull the main line in, just done. At least on the standard cabs you did get air in the windows, with the wide bodies, very little air will come in.
@@schinbone0 that makes since because on the standard cab the windshield was flat and it would let the air flow at a different angle around the the side of the cab and the wide cabs the air is forced outward to the side. You also had the door up in front of the conductor.
@@therailroadtiespiker LOL. We did have that door, it was not supposed to be open while moving, it is actually very dangerous if you hit something, but we opened it anyway or at least cracked it. I see you got one of our camo hats. I still wear mine, good hats😀
Hey bud, awesome freight trains 🚆 video 📹 👍 👌 great captures very cool 😎 video 📹 👍👌

Ok, I could, but I won't, 😂😂 " insert improper comment "
@@RealMelodyBlue 😂
The warbonnet is iconic and BNSF should stick with a winner. The orange engines are just meh. Good video.
@@johnalder6028 I remember seeing them back in 1996 when I took a trip to Nevada… Darn I wished I had a video camera then. Lol
Was that an old BNSF Warbonnet?
@@RealMelodyBlue a fake bonnet… they were locomotives that were ordered by the Santa Fe before the merger and just had the BNSF put on the side instead of Santa Fe.
@therailroadtiespiker cool catch though
