Bryan, well people fell in love with the Harvey who was great at his job but had relationship issues. A man who is extremely good at his profession but has serious flaws in his personal life. That’s the reason why people tuned in to watch the show. And once you change him to just another guy in a committed relationship, you changed the whole nature and dynamic of the show & the character himself. It became more of a romantic drama & thats not what people tuned in for and that’s the reason the show lost its ratings beyond season 7.
