  • A variety of conditions affect the prostate that are collectively known as prostatitis. Acute bacterial prostatitis develops suddenly as the result of infection with bacteria responsible for urinary tract infections. Fever, chills, discharge and difficulty urinating develop along with urgency. Pain centers on the genital area and lower back or abdomen. Treatment with a week or so of antibiotics resolves the problem.
In a small number of cases acute bacterial prostatitis merges into chronic bacterial prostatitis with similar but milder symptoms that fluctuate in severity and continue for months. Treatment with antibiotics less certainly cures the condition.
Asymptomatic prostatitis occurs in men without symptoms whose condition is only incidentally discovered during evaluation for some other condition. These men may be diagnosed while testing for prostate cancer or through semen analysis in pursuit of the reason for infertility.
Unfortunately the most common abnormality known as chronic prostatitis / chronic pelvic pain syndrome bedevils large numbers of men who travel from doctor to doctor in search of a cure that continues to evade them. At present it appears bacteria are not integral to the condition. In fact legitimate arguments exist regarding whether the prostate is actually involved in the disease.
Recently the NIH suggested the umbrella term urologic chronic pelvic pain syndrome may be more appropriate since typical symptoms also exist in women. Some suggest that this may be a functional condition in the same family as the chronic fatigue syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome and perhaps fibromyalgia.
Symptoms may suggest prostate enlargement with frequency, urgency, weak stream and nighttime urination. Others complain of psychological dysfunction with anxiety and depression. At times prostate tenderness, pelvic soreness and sexual dysfunction may supervene.
Treating such non-specific complaints without obvious pathology is bound to fail. Men typically receive repeated courses of antibiotics or drugs meant to increase urinary flow - Flomax, Uroxatral, Rapaflo. Some receive anti-inflammatory drugs in the naproxen or ibuprofen family. Other popular remedies that offer little benefit include chondroitin sulfate, bioflavonoids, saw palmetto, quercetin and Viagra.
It will take at least several more years before arriving at a clearer understanding of the precise nature of this common condition. For now, the only constant seems to be almost certain exasperation.

I was dx'd with Prostatits. My symptoms were frequent urination. Peeing was actually normal but once I stopped peeing for the next 30 minutes I felt slight burning sensation in my uretha/penis. I urinated often. I had foamy pee which scared me. Thought I had kidney disease. Still do kind of. Still on antiobiotics and waiting for my urology appt. Ironically 10 years ago while training for a marathon I had testicle pain real bad for months. Doctor gave me antibiotics which didn't help at all. Doctor said it could be caused by Pelvic Floor. Pain subsided over time on its own. Wonder if this pain in my urethra is the same condition only impacting a different part of my body. Weird.

I was diagnosed with Chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS). I tried antibiotics (Apo-doxy 100 mg two per day for 6 weeks) and Alpha blocker (Tamsulosin). The pain was debilitating and unsupportable. I also tried Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory drugs for 3 months but nothing helped to manage the pain. I felt that the veins around testicules were very stiff. I tried Calcium Channel Blocker (amlodipine) and it worked very well for me. The pain disappeared within one hour after taking it. I started with 5mg - two tablets. After two weeks I decreased it to 2.5mg due to reflex tachycardia as a side effect from taking Amlodipine. And added Beta blocker and Telmisartan to manage side effects from Amlodipine. Also made sure that I did not have any constipation (Senikot) because if you have one it might affect your condition by pressing against the area in pain.

For Everyone: trust me Guys there is no Non-Bacterial Prostatitis and don't listing to these people talking about therapy and stretch as a cure yes they improve the Symptoms but temporary due to prostate outer message and tissues, all Prostatitis conditions are caused by Bacterial pathogens (fungal, Virus (rare cases and most likely asymptomatic), microorganism). Overall the hardest thing is to diagnose and found the bacterial agents (colonies inside the prostate) which in most cases will filter in the bladder's wall and give a negative urine result also semen analysis mostly will come negative due to bladder's wall in male urinary system (it will come positive only if there are a big bacterial colonies in the prostate). Also the hardest thing is to treat the prostate due to it's anatomic structure (central zone, peripheral zone, transitional zone) it is very hard for antibiotics to penetrate it completely and it can only penetrate it up to 10%-15% is most cases that's why it won't work effectively and kill the bacterial inside it also prostate injection wont work for long time due to prostate and seminal infections also the injection can't penetrate prostate tissues 100% and only penetrate the injected area even. Finally the 100% cure is a a new technology that my dad found because he is a urologist but i will give you a help and this will work in %60 of the cases. follow this:
take Doxycycline twice a day but you must message to prostate with a good force to allow blood flow and let the antibiotics penetrate the prostate tissues and open the blockages caused the inflammation and bacteria. note: the improvement will start after week 6 and can take up to 6 months to cure it 100% but you must follow my instruction daily.

    CPPS
    - Antibiotics dont fix it
    - Fibromyalgia like symptoms ( body and muscle pain)
    - no scan can find it
    - usually develops in men over 30
    - younger men and teenagers are now reporting it (more computers = more porn= more mastrubation)
Muscular dysfunction from traumatic overmasturbation leading to a spasmic or cramped pelvic floor muscles. Myofascial trigger points happen and a muscle pain cycle continues until treated.
    - Men in the 1800s believed it was due to masturbation. They were probably right.
Urologists dont treat muscles. People think that just because the problem is down in the private parts or genital zone that urologists are the one to visit. NO! The levator ani or pelvic floor muscles are just like any other skeletal muscle in the body. They have a hell of a lot more nerve innervations and routes tho.
CPPS = pelvic floor muscle dysfunction

Before we came in contact with one physician that prescribed SULFA-P ALISHECH for him, he said it an Israeli prostatitis medication and after some months of taking the drug, his prostatitis cured.
