@@biji_kopi dont know the answert to 2 and 3, but the first 1 is easy. you basicly only need a japanese drivers licence,a good atlethic condition,and an outgoing personality. there are no other requirments realy,dont need any grade. anything else about the job is being taught by the rikshaw company internaly. so in theory almost any1 can do this.
I saw that rickshaw in Kyoto have handbrake, actually two of them, I guess that they are for each wheel separately.. But our heroes in Asakusa use just their legs for breaking. 😁.. That's why cute Yuka have nice figure. 😁

Yuka is very modest. It does take some effort to pull the Rick shaw. You can see how strong she really is especially her lower body. There was one video of her running with the rickshaw in the summer she was sweating. That tells you how much of a workout you get pulling these.
I was relieved to learn that the leverage principle allows Yuka Chan (and the others rickshaw drivers) to use less force to pull it...but I think a good physical preparation is important. Yuka Chan' explanation cleared my doubts about the rickshaw, so I would just like to know how many kilometers she runs per day on average...and if after 2 years in this job she noticed any changes in her body, for example: weight gain, strong legs, etc. Thank you Guide to Japan Travel for the excellent work with this cute girl that is Yuka Chan!

I've been to Japan twice. And both times, I find the people there have similar attitude as Yuka-chan. Very enthusiastic and helpful. When though they could hardly understand my broken Japanese. If only their politicians are the same.

It makes so much sense that the mechanism of shifting load (aka leverage) creates a forward force. The inventor of rickshaw got this genius design to taking advantage of leverage and the laws of physics. Yuka chan is very smart.
