Lauren is just such an amazing athlete. She doesn't give up, has impecable technique and spirit, she holds the same condition always. She's respectful and humble. An true inspiration indeed.
Front leg sparring is becoming more prominent all coaches prefer their trainees to use their front legs, as it's more effecient and quicker. When back legs are needed they are used but that's also the fighters preference.
It's true, they often use their front leg when they want to hit to the head, but when they need some powerful kick, it's better to use the back leg but it is less quick
It depends on the opponent.if ur opponent is good using her/his front leg,she/he can easily front leg side kick when u are trying to back kick which makes u fall and get penalized. Also its hard to use back leg when ur opponent keeps on using front leg, its either u get what i said earlier or the part in 6:30 but back leg works sometimes
Best quality of sparring techniques of GB among all competitors but a bit arrogant especially she knew she wins the game - NEVER turn your back to your opponent at all times.
There is so much potential with taekwondo. But somehow all these blackbelters seem to forget when fighting. They be like lil kids pushing wit 1 leg and doing 1 trick all the time. I'm not judging but taekwondo is a martial arts and so act like it is. But still a better fight than most of the fights I watched
@@ekstamine even in the Olympic they use protection. Some karate clubs, I saw, uses also but body protection only. No head gear and even shin protection. When they removed the body protection to spar without it. some says they feel nervous or scarred a bit especially when they were hit with a kick or punch in the body. protection makes learners enthusiastic to learn s they feel no hard impact or pain when they got hit during sparring. In my Shotokan training, we do not punch or kick the face but only the body for safety but we do not have any protection. This is to simulate street fight reality that one do not have body or head protection in a street fight; and one will feel nervous of being it hard on the body with pain some when hit hard will crouched in pain when hit with a hard kick; and that is alright for they are doing reality.
@@diosdadoapias Dude, you can't talk about the ways of learn in Taekwondo because you don't practice it. like, in my Academy lately we have been doing sparring without protections because we don't focus only in the tournaments, we also pay atenttion to de self defense. I can not resist comparing some tournaments to what they do in Karate kumite In All Japan Karate kumite or All Japan JKA kumite. Both tournaments uses no protective gears even shin guard; and they both can punch and kick the face and body; and its a point system. On the other hand, JKA, is Shotokan style which some if not many karate authority considered the sports version of the Okinawan Karate which is originally for self defense. If I am not mistaken, one if not even the founder of TKD is a Shotokan blackbelt who studied under Funakoshi- the Okinawan who taught Karate in mainland Japan. Thank you for your consideration.
I guess that's the rule. Leg blocking is also not allowed i recall. You will lose your natural defensive reflexes if you keep sparring like this. WTF is a sport game, not martial art.
isn't it unfair as the uk athlete is positioned to kick with her right leg whereas the Russian one can only attack with her left leg? How is this regulated as it doesn't seem fair at all..
