How is this orchestra not more famous? Literally every performance is top notch, with most on par with or even surpassing all of the more highly acclaimed ensembles. I also have yet to hear an interpretation by Slobodeniouk that I didn't fall in love with. And finally, a huge shout out to the sound engineers as every audio recording is brilliant. It's like you're sitting in the middle of the orcehstra.

Descubrí esta extraña y maravillosa sinfonía siendo adolescente y la llevo en el alma durante más de medio siglo. No se puede hacer música ni más rusa, ni más apasionada, ni más chaikovskiana. Me había acostumbrado a escucharla en las mejores orquestas rusas, incluso en directo en el Palau de la música de Barcelona por la Filarmónica de Moscú, y he de decir que, en mi humilde opinión, la Sinfónica de Galicia con este director la interpreta al mismo nivel de calidad y de pasión. El cuarto movimiento me hace pensar en una danza popular y salvaje regada con vodka en una fiesta, en la que un borracho intenta participar y todo le da vueltas al pobre. Una maravilla absoluta!
Otra interpretacion fenomenal de la Sinfonica de Galicia bajo la conduccion de Dima Slobodeniuk. Fantastica!!
Gran obra y magnífica versión. Entré en este video solo esperando el principio del Finale que suena en la radio antes de Wish you were here, pero empecé desde el principio y ya no pude parar. Bravo!
Brilliant performance! There are not enough superlatives to express how spectacular is the sound and the "oneness" of the ensemble. Every recording I hear of this orchestra blows away any other recordings I have heard of the pieces they perform. True music, not just a performance. Bravo!
איז'ו בלום , עליו השלום , אמר שאין כמו צ'ייקובסקי , ולא מפני שאין עוד יצירות נפלאות וקסומות שהנפש משתוקקת אליהן ---- אלא מפני שרק הוא כתב כמעט את כל סוגי המוסיקות ----החל בקונצ'רטים וכלה בסימפוניות , החל באופרות וכלה בבלטים , החל במוסיקה קאמרית וכלה בשירים , אין עוד מלחין כזה !
I only chancd upon this video a few days ago and was astonished at the quality and virtuosity of this orchestra and its conductor. I have since been watching many other performances by this ensemble and am quite unable to fathom out why they are relatively unknown. Every piece is of the very highest standard. Thank you for this wonderful discovery!
Can't help but agree with a comment stating ths is one of the best performances of this work. Beautiful playing throughout with dazzling virtuoso playing of the final movement make near perfection of a wonderful reading by the always amazing Slobodeniouk! Galicia, you have a great artistic resource here to be envied by all..
Вот один из примеров настоящей классики симфонической музыки . Слободенюк и оркестр на высоте. Прекрасное исполнение . Браво!!!. В финале изумительная тема:" во поле березка стояла, во поле кудрявая стояла". Слободенюк дирижировал практически по памяти. Можно слушать и слушать. Спасибо. Привет из Киева.

This thrilling performance has the excitement of a Carlos Kleiber, the precision of a Szell, the texture of a Boulez, the architecture of a Furtwangler, and the balletic grace of s Monteux; in short, it has everything one could want. For me, this conductor and his fabulous orchestra have emerged as the greatest and most important of our time. We are living in a new Golden Age of conductors, orchestras, and instrumental soloists; mention must also be made of the equally marvelous Maestro Orozco-Estrada and The Frankfurt Radio Symphony.

¡Qué magnífica conjunción director-orquesta! ¡Cuánto envidio a los melómanos de Galicia! Esta sinfonía me es particularmente cara: recuerdo de adolescente unos programas divulgativos de Leonard Bernstein, ¡cómo la explicaba! la inmensa dosis de romanticismo que alberga, simplemente maravillosa. Gracias también a su mecenas la Condesa Von Meck.
Dima Slobodeniouk and the Sinfonica de Galicia never fail to amaze me. This is truly one of the best performances of this work I have ever seen. Keep it up!
Wonderful performance!! Am also greatly appreciating the quality of the mic placement and attention to recording that sounds amazing even over the internet. Engulfed in sound like when I used to play clarinet in the school symphony. Loving the great expressive range of tender or sorrowing on through to intense and exuberant... (Many RUclips uploads post great performances only to water them down with mediocre audio.) No problem here!!

The closing of the exposition starting at 7:57 is my favorite part of the whole symphony and this is my favorite recording of it. I love how the conductor is being really strict about the tempo, then once it locks in, he lets go of it and starts conducting the TENSION that Tchaikovsky was conveying, and it shows in the ensemble's playing. And then once the cadence hits at 8:08, it sounds triumphant, explosive and massive, as Tchaikovsky intended. The way the flutes come through the texture and are audible over all those violins, adds to the effect. Incredible

Hola OSG, hola Dima. Muchas gracias a todos, también para los autores del video que tanto me ayuda a entender y sentir el concierto. Sois una joya de Galicia y para España. Con vosotros descubrí a Holst, ahora este III movimiento que es casi un concierto dentro del otro, no conocía un movimiento tan largo y bonito de "dedo". Trabajo frente a un ordenador de gran pantalla, y mientras hago mis cosas tengo en el ángulo inferior izdo. una ventana de RUclips en la que el 30% de música clásica que consumo es de la OSG o de la Joven. El influjo de esa ventana con vosotros en RUclips es tan hechizante que me distrae constantemente del trabajo, y me quedo colgado de vosotros, y lo abro a pantalla completa... ¡y así me va!. Acabo cómo empezé: Gracias por proporcionarme tantos momentos de belleza y de emoción. Somos el único animal que ha sabido ponerle letras a los sonidos. Felicidades y hasta siempre.

I make my comment on the night of Monday 6 November 2023 and I think that Tchaikovsky died on Monday 6 November 1893 (on the day before his age of 53 and a half years), if I miscalculated the number of days (47,481), I simply apologize.-----At times I think of parts of this symphony.
