    1. Tools I used: Sculpey white clay, Craftsmart acrylic paint, Paintbrushes, White thread, E6000, Toothpicks, Scissors, Glaze.
    2. I used White Clay because i did not have all the colors for the balloons and the House itself.
    3. I advise you to use actual colored clay for the balloons, painting the balloons was the hardest part of the whole figurine itself.
    4. Painting the house seemed much easier than using colored clay.
    5. If you feel like the balloons would add too much weight on top, use resin clay or daiso air dry clay to make the top lighter, using daiso clay will detract from the quality of the piece but the piece itself will become lighter. If you don't want to use daiso airdry clay, add a platform under the house for more stability.
    Songs used:
    1. Mindy Gledhill - All about your heart
    2. Johnny Ripper- Waltz for an imaginary piano ( or person, i forgot)

    The real person behind this scene was a woman by the name of Edith from Seattle. . Her story and strength is such inspiration! She stood up to the development company that offered her a million dollars to buy her house so they could make new development in the area but Miss Edith refused. She stayed in her home surrounded around the new construction where she later died. The moral of her story is ' Money isn't everything, you stand up for what matters to you the most' - in Edith case... her little old house.

    Oh gosh..a long time.
    Making the basic white house- not too long, this part was the easy part, maybe an hour/hour and a half?
    Balloons- this was the easiest part so around 10-15 minutes.
    Painting the balloons- I had to use a couple of coats of paints and used a fine brush to refine each balloon so about 1 hour.
    Painting the house-easier than painting the balloons- about 30 minutes.
    Putting on the thread-15 min.
    I also made this house over a period of 3 days. :)
    Hope this helped!

  • @PearFleur
    @PearFleur  11 лет назад

    I could have made the house bigger and the balloons smaller. Or I could have painted the balloons one color or made them into different shapes. It's the artists interpretation of the sculpture. Replicating it exactly is never fun.

  • @PearFleur
    @PearFleur  11 лет назад

    I love the idea of mixing transulcent clay and colored clay! :) But i feel like putting foil in the balloons would take way too long..maybe you could also just use scrap clay to make the balloons and paint over it :)

  • @PearFleur
    @PearFleur  11 лет назад

    It would've been easier just using colored clay and sticking them together without glue. but hey, it's all about failing and learning right? :)

    I baked it with the wood on. The wood doesn't catch of fire.

    You could also wrap a thin layer of the regular polymer clay around the polymer clay that they make that has less weight. Fimo and Sculpy both make a light version of this polymer clay and it only comes in white so it would need to be colored, covered, or painted. But it's so light you can make water floating objects out of it. If you would like some let me know and I mail you some to try.

  • @DeeEll86442
    @DeeEll86442 11 лет назад

    You did a great job on this, beautiful work. I have a couple other suggestions to add to yours. If you want to make the balloons out of polymer clay you can always put foil on the inside of each balloon. Also, to get the look of a real balloon you can mix translucent clay with colored clay, this should help with the look. Take care, Dee
