You gotta be one cold-hearted person to thumbs down this video. Ms. Vibes worked hard, and it looks super. Plus she has the satisfaction of enjoying her beautiful work. :)
The few things I saw was not getting the concrete in the corners that good and when she pulled the mold of they lines weren’t patted down but your absolutely right not worth a thumbs down
Joel, I agree she did an awesome job on this. She worked hard and explained everything. Out is great. Sometimes a thumbs down means the video went on and on and didn't get to the point right away. I'm a person woth ADD and have seen 20+ minute videos that tale forever to get to the point. I watched a kitchen organizing video one time and the lady showed us her taking everything out of the cabinets ( instead of showing in fast motion). She explained why she was throwing away expired food, etc. I couldn't finish watching.
I’m so glad a woman has done a video using these molds , I’ve been considering using them , it’s great to hear from someone who has about the same body strength as me , Thank you ❤️
I did something similar years back (when I was younger lol) and it was very rewarding (if not perfect) we woman are here to show everything two male hands can do, we can as well. GO GIRLS!!🌵🌵🤟🤟
I'm seeing this 1 year after you posted but I just wanted to say you did a great job and give you just 1 tip when mixing concrete .... it's easier to mix if you put the water in the trough first. Mixing concrete is one heck of a work out! Great job on your project!
This video was awesome for two reasons. It's so good to see a woman doing this and also it was very informative on how to do this successfully. I really enjoyed all the tips you gave for this project. I feel confident I can do this now. Thanks so much!
WOW! Great job! I was going to get some of those same molds and do a walkway, but now that I've seen what you've done, I want to add a patio to my place too! My wife loves what you've done! Thanks for a great video! You ROCK!!!
Thank you! Please be sure to check out my 9 month update so you both can see a possibility of what it could look like in the future. Best of luck to you both 😀
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I was so lost when I started my project, and now I know what I want to do!!!!!!!! This was the BEST tutorial EVER!!!!!
I know it's an older video, but this looks really nice! I'm wanting to do this for the front walkway of my house. Nice job! Thanks for sharing your experiences 👍❤️
Nice! It's definitely hard work but so rewarding. Probably 20yrs ago I did a patio area on a property I planned to sell within a year. I foolishly presumed I could process 4 to 5 bags per day. I managed 3 bags a few times but 2 was my norm. As you stated It's a lot for one person. I used a push broom to create a consistent surface each time after I removed the frame. The organic edges appealed to me. I also added sprigs of monkey grass to help with the tropical look I wanted. It filled in quickly and is basically zero maintenance - even I cannot kill it. I added a dye to the Quickrete mixture so the patio matched the blonde brick on the house. When I sold the house the patio was a definite asset plus I enjoyed it. I am now thinking about moving but at 73 I will not be able to handle mixing concrete. The next owner can make their own choices.
I love getting exercise doing projects otherwise exercise is boring & hard to motivate myself. The bonus of DIY! It feels good to see what I can accomplish & say "I did that"! God bless! Thanks for sharing!
Whoever came up with these mold ideas is a genius. They look so good and give a professional look 😍. Glad you had help because that is backbreaking. So worth it. It looks great.
Jazmin, this is a beautiful job and I hope you are so very very proud of yourself!!!!! My Daddy was a Master Mason (Bricklayer who does amazing things that is closer to art than bricklaying!) and he helped me with everything from outdoor BBQ or Grill as you guys call them, I believe. 🇨🇦’s call them BBQ’s, LOL! And tiles and my fireplace etc etc and do I ever miss him so very much that you just lit my heart when I heard you say your Father came over to help you❤️. That is amazing and once a Daddy’s Girl, always a Daddy’s Girl! Give him a huge hug hon as nothing is better than having your Father come and help you and teach you to do things smarter not harder as well as little tricks that make things go much smoother etc. as well as what NOT to do which is priceless such as not leaving cement out on the lawn or any little “spills” as there goes your lawn mower blade LOL! I was blessed and learned those before vs by “experience” as some of my friends who had begged to borrow my Daddy! He was there for everyone, always.❤️ Enjoy that patio girl! It is always so much more meaningful when you have your family and friends help you because they love you!!! Beautiful job as are you!❤️🙌🏻❤️
Thank you so much for you kind words! Yes, once a daddy’s girl always a daddy’s girl! He refuses to let me do these things on my own and I love him so much for it! Even when I’m stubborn and say I want to do it on my own, eventually I ask for help lol
You're right. It's perfect. I have one of these molds for like 15 years. I bought it to build a patio at my house then horrible things happened and I lost my house. I have recently bought a little mobile home and I will be FINALLY using my mold. Thank you for the inspiration!
I’m sorry to hear that, but glad to hear about your fresh start ☺️! These molds are so sturdy, I will definitely be keeping mine for years as well. I wish you the best of luck with your project!
Ive watched a lot of these videos abut concrete moulds, and i have to say yours looks the best i think its because you did not spend ages flattening the surface concrete so looks more natural and rustic especialy with the sand. so ita all looking fabulous
Love it!! It was nice hearing you and your Dad did it together. I'd give anything to be able to do things w/my Dad again! Great job, thanks for showing us how to do this. Cute dog 🐕 ⚘
thank you !!! you gave me an amazing idea for my own yard....and I was gifted that exact mold... I am going to go to town !! You inspired me so much !!! and your advice was helpful as well... and your patio looks so sweet !! great job !!!
Oh sweetie not regular sand. You are supposed to use polymeric sand, which has polymers in it and turns to a mortar like hard glue that holds everything together.
True to Vibes - you did an amazing job! I am so inspired. I have purchased two molds (same ones) that have been sitting in my garage for over a year now!!! Yours is the first video that didn't make me anxious; you are truly an inspiration, thank you :)
There is nothing to it really, well manual labor. LOL They even have coloring for the concrete. The most important part is to make sure your base layer is level and slightly sloped away from your homes foundation. 80lbs bags of concrete is the challenge and use a wheel barrow and dont carry them things long distances.
The best tutorial on this walkway project. 👍Going to do this tomorrow I dont have Instagram but I would let my son post the finished product on your Instagram. Thanks so very much I thought it was hard to do. I purchased the mold last year now I am inspired. ❤
Aww I love this! Yes it does seem intimidating, but you can do it. I would say the hardest part was the weight of the cement bags for me, but I got creative and found other ways to move them lol. I wish you best of luck on your project 😃!
Hi Jazmin if you find that the plain sand washes away or sprouts weeds, look into Sakrete Polymeric Sand. There is a process to it but I think because it solidifies you may like it better.
Girl I cannot tell you enough how proud I am of you for taking on this project!!! 👏🏾 Is it sad that I had no idea those molds existed until you showed it? LOL! Watching you spread the concrete was so satisfying and I loved the food references (chili and butter). 😁 It was so sweet of David to surprise you with the sand!!! Loved the end result! 😍 Looking forward to more!!!
Thank you so much 🥰! and no I had no idea it was a thing until I went down a rabbit hole on RUclips lol I'm so happy you enjoyed it! I tried to be as helpful as possible with my referencing. David is always so helpful with my projects. I can wait to make more 😃.
That is so gorgeous!!! You've inspired me!! I'm definitely going to do this project! Thank you for the extremely helpful instructional video! Brilliant!!
I just did mine a month ago. I wish I would have came across your video! Simple and straight to the point. Yes, I too bought the hand tools and what a waste. Shovel and hands worked way better.
I tried to make it as simple and real as possible. It looks like an easy project but definitely. And yes, once you get down and dirty you realize those hand tools aren’t needed. Thank you for watching!
I think it looks absolutely fab! And actually, I really like the contrast between the lighter and darker concrete. So creative! And I absolutely love learning anything that may save some money in today's economy! Thank you so much for sharing your amazing project! ❤
Great Job! I was wondering why you didn't spend more time making the concrete more smooth, but it turned out great. The slight roughness gives it a unique look! Great job! I'll be buying that mold!
I wrote this in your other post … just some suggestions.. love your post. Sorry so long. Hope it helps I love you showed this… some things to help you and others!! 2 suggestions for next time if you do this again but also how to fix this!. Next time: Put 2 layers. 1 layer of weed barrier one direction and a second layer cross ways. Layer of rock salt under the barriers. You can add vinegar, bleach and salt under the weed barrier to keep the ground from getting any start to weed growth or anything else. Weeds & mold grow when they get moisture and sun and critters bring in seedlings underground. So block it. For clean up & preventing all this in the future and you can do this after you clean up the weeds … do week whack or but anything on your path if you don’t want to damage the work of the path and your not in a hurry … COVER IT FOR 1-2 week with cardboard or dark plastic trash bags or both… to prevent sunlight and THEN… use a power washer on low to clean it and clear away dead weeds. They are dead now so you can put them in a composter bin or bag for pick up. NEXT APPLY A layer or sand /mortar type S and use a brush or broom to get in into all the cracks add a mist of water for 3-4 days. If needed after 3-4 days add another fine layer or sand/mortar if in areas this will harden. LASTLY AND MOST IMPORTANTLY - - after this cures and you’re happy with yje fill in apply 3-4 layers of a walkway or paver sealer with a roller (you can do a brush but I like a roller brush). DONT SKIP THIS STEP. THIS HELPS WITH the weeds & MOLD!! It keeps the moister from getting into the holes of the concrete. Also and a tip the molds don’t give u. Tap them or shake slightly before lifting to set in place while pressing down to get the air pockets out. This is where mold and weeds will pop up. You did great. I get why you got the naysayers but you did good. Do it again. Never listen to the haters if they don’t want to give you tips on how to help you. F them. ❤ keep up the diy’s.
Well done! I have the mold you used but I've not been able to get anything done yet. So glad I came upon your video. The hints you shared are so needed. It looks beautiful! God bless you.
Jazmin, that looks so good I'm going to do that for the area where I am building my new brick grill ad pizza oven. The concrete under the grill will need to be smooth and level, but I want to add an area to put my table and umbrella. The patterned form worked so easy for you, I'm going to get a couple of forms. Thanks for showing me how to do it. Will refer back to this video.
Hi there! I admire your patience you are an awesome woman🤟. Beautiful work thanks for the tips. Looking forward to the next project Love from Las Cruces NM 🤟🌵
Great job! I have the same mold but the mixing of cement (for an area about the size of yours) has always prevented me from moving forward. You’ve inspired me…I’m going to get started. Thanks for sharing.
9 month patio update here -> ruclips.net/video/867yZQhMR_A/видео.html
Hi, approximately how long did you leave the mold in place before starting the next section? Thanks in advance.
I didn’t wait at all before starting the next section. The cement is thick enough so it won’t spill everywhere once removed immediately.
It is perfect ❤️✌️
Most beautiful, common sense video tutorial I've seen. Thank you 😊
You gotta be one cold-hearted person to thumbs down this video. Ms. Vibes worked hard, and it looks super. Plus she has the satisfaction of enjoying her beautiful work. :)
Aww thank you 😃!

How can anyone thumbs down this video? Nice work and awesome job! I am inspired!
Thank you ☺️!
Because they don't know the difference between up and down, they actually meant thumbs up. lol.
My wife and I are looking to put a patio in and I’m weighing my options between a paver patio and this. Very helpful, thanks! It looks good!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I was so lost when I started my project, and now I know what I want to do!!!!!!!! This was the BEST tutorial EVER!!!!!
Nice job! One tip that I have heard from other people, after you remove the mold, give it a quick rinse from a hose so the concrete doesn't dry on it.
GIRL YOU ARE GOOD GOOD SO VERY GOOD.AMAZING WORK.
I know it's an older video, but this looks really nice! I'm wanting to do this for the front walkway of my house. Nice job! Thanks for sharing your experiences 👍❤️

Agreed! Thank you, now I just have to get used to maintaining it. But I love having it, it beats the swamp that was there before.
Thank you! This is way better than the company's video. Plus it helps to learn from someone with a nice face and cheerful demeanor!!!
Aww thank you so much! I’m glad it’s helpful for you ☺️!

I really like the design...

Thank you so much! Yes, he did not want me doing it alone 💕.
That was a slick move using the towels to move the bags!
Yes, it helped a lot. I definitely couldn’t pick up and walk with those bags. Thank you for watching!
That was the first thing I noticed! Haha - working smarter not harder :)
Good video. I like how you used common stuff. Like used it, not just mentioned it and used a bucket.
thank you !!! you gave me an amazing idea for my own yard....and I was gifted that exact mold... I am going to go to town !! You inspired me so much !!! and your advice was helpful as well... and your patio looks so sweet !! great job !!!

I absolutely LOVE this, & actually prefer this to the "perfection" some people pay others big money for!! Thank you for your insight 🥰
Thank you so much for this outstanding tutorial. Now I feel like I can do this with a little help 😊
Oh sweetie not regular sand. You are supposed to use polymeric sand, which has polymers in it and turns to a mortar like hard glue that holds everything together.
That looks fantastic! Thanks for the ratios too. I’m doing a ring around my tree in the front and you’ve given me a head start.
Wonderful! I wish you the best of luck!
That's absolutely awesome!!!!! You should be so proud of yourself.
I really am 😊, thank you so much!!

Hi Jazmin if you find that the plain sand washes away or sprouts weeds, look into Sakrete Polymeric Sand. There is a process to it but I think because it solidifies you may like it better.

I wrote this in your other post … just some suggestions.. love your post. Sorry so long. Hope it helps
I love you showed this… some things to help you and others!!
