For anyone wondering, you need a Strut nut socket which allows you to put in an Allen Key to keep the shock from spinning, I think it's 19 mm for the size, found here: www.fcpeuro.com/products/19mm-strut-nut-socket-cta-3039x04
@@matthewcarson9347 long shot getting an answer on this old vide.. Have the strut socket. Took off my front struts and lo an behold, the shock rod is solid and doesn't have a hole for an Allen key. Any idea how to secure the shock from spinning to remove/retorque the top nut?

Nice ordered bilstein suspension for my Z4 that arrives tomorrow. Seems like a lot of work so I’ll just pay the mechanic to install 😂

Sweet! This looks like a huge pain in the ass!
Why leave that rusty spring in? :P
Is there a lock nut on the axle bolt?
The strut bearing is backordered of 2024. I don't know where to look

Hey FCP, What brand is that spring compressor?
Hi Hissam, the one we have here is from Vevor. There are a couple options out there is you search for a three jaw spring compressor.
There is not much "simple" about this. It requires special tools and can hurt you if you do it wrong.
Very true John, thank you for the note.
