Oh my goodness yessss to the RUclips video! 🙌🏼 I love watching cleaning vids especially the relatable mom content! It motivates me to get going! Glad you went for it and posted!
OK - 4 kids (I raised 5) - depending on their ages, a few tips.... get the older ones to show the younger ones how to do a task. Kids who grumble about doing things themselves, often make good teachers. Let them get on with a task while you are doing something else cleaning related (don't watch) An 8 year old can show a 6 year old how to put on a load of washing and with a little stool they can press the right buttons 5-6 year olds are capable of sorting the clean washing - who owns what? Older - they can do all the folding and put things in the right cupboards/drawers Kids can vacuum any room Young children actually like helping with food prep - as mothers we always hide behind 'Oh it's quicker if I just do it' but if you STICK with it, in one year's time they are all more capable. In a couple of years they can do ALL the housework. Also you don't make them lazy, hopeless partners in the future.
Here from Instagram I am also a fellow twin mom. I have 6m old twins and a 4yo (all boys) and I just want to say you were in fact my body double today as I was/am also in an ADHD paralysis… also yes to sweeping/kicking all of the toys in one pile! So much easier
I loveeee that you’re making RUclips videos! I found you recently-ish and love your vids. I’m a young single mom of 3 year old twins. I have depression, anxiety, and adhd and your content is so so relatable and motivating. You make me feel like I’m not the only messy girl lol ❤️❤️
I do sympathise with you honestly! But try to train them to pick toys before bath/bed. Make it a game, make a chart for the fridge door with their names and some gold stars if they do a good job. Start little, just get them to pick up all the animals for instance. Do one child a day, mark on the chart then give a reward if done well. ( Special snack/sweetie/new toy animal) It will take a lot of energy to consistently train them but not as much as doing it all yourself! Good luck!
A hack I’ve learned, get some paper towels and get them wet. Wrap them around the drink whether it be bottle or can & stick it in the freezer. It will be cold in 10 minutes!!
I can’t donate or throw away toys either. I have 5 children between 7 and 2 and at least 1 of them will always ask for the toys I put away up in the closet that I swore I never saw them play with lol
Ok for starters please explain why your kids have a play room but only use your living room??? Starting now, let your kids know that they play in the play room NOT the living room. Just keep redirecting them in 3 days they will “get it”. Next, your kids need to sleep in their own room. Take them to the Dollar store to pick out a night light for their room and gently explain that starting tonight they are going to sleep in their own room. Keep redirecting, don’t give in. Try it… you have nothing to lose and a lot to gain!
