33:12 love how i’m knitting a sweater when you said this piece of advice; don’t start by knitting a scarf! it takes quite a long time and most people lose motivation and never finish it, so i would recommend starting with a hat so that you can learn the basic stitches and decreases!
When I tell ppl I’d take rain over sun any day of the week I’m looked at like an unidentified species from another planet…. But for me- I don’t get why people love the sun so damn much. Sure it’s nice and I enjoy a good 60-70 degree day but when it’s overcast and rainy or even snowy my brain releases so much serotonin… I just freaking LOVE fall & winter. I guess someone’s gotta right? lol 😊

I feel like you may enjoy small town big magic by hazel beck! It's another witchy romance book and it's the first in a companion like series! It follows our MC Emerson who is a witch but she has no memory of being a witch because her memories were stripped from her after she failed this like magic test you have to take when you're 18, but then something happens and her memory starts coming back to her. It's such a fun little series that i feel has a lot of similar things to the book you read in this vlog!

Laputa actually IS the first Ghibli movie! Nausicaa is the first *Miyazaki* movie, and a lot of future Ghibli people worked on it but it was made before Studio Ghibli as such was founded.

Castle in the Sky was my first Ghibli movie. I borrowed it from Blockbuster many moons ago not knowing anything about anime or Studio Ghibli. Needless to say I became obsessed and became a huge Otaku. Whisper of the Heart & Princess Mononoke are my other favorite Ghibli movies.

If you love books with a scientific angle about fantasy worlds, you might want to check out the 13 1/2 lives of captain Bluebear. It’s a first book in a series and structurally you mainly go from adventure to adventure, since this is like a memoire book of captain Bluebear. It’s very whimsical, has soooo many illustrations ( which is why it might be a bit more expensive so maybe look for a second hand option ) and just transports you to this very fairtale like fantasy world and in between are excerpts from a fake dictionary which explains the different creatures. I feel like you have to either vibe with this book or you’ll just be weirded out by all these stories.
"rewitched" is definitely cute, but I thought it did a little TOO much with the plot. Certain things got pushed to the side and were conveniently solved by the end. The romance was also too fast to be believable for me, but overall I did enjoy my read of it. I also have probably read way too many similar cozy witchy books this year, so I may or may not be burning out on them... Castle in the Sky is the first Ghibli movie I ever fell in love with, and it's definitely up there as one of my faves. If you haven't seen it yet, you should really watch "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind." That's also an older one and more action heavy.

So now I guess we're on a break

I’ve been in the worst slump because it’s been such a busy fall (binge-watching the Walking Dead isn’t helping my case either 👀) and anytime I try to read I end up dozing off…😴 I did start Fellowship of the Ring and I’m LOVING it so much but I think tonight I’ll try a new audiobook, light some candles, and make myself a tea latte to get in the reading mood. 🫖😌🕯️🌙
The way I lit my candles, made a tea latte, and then literally didn’t read or listen to an audiobook… I fear Stardew Valley was too enticing last night
