    I definitely don’t think it’s bashing a book when you give it 2 stars. It’s your honest opinion and no one can criticize that at all. I appreciate hearing both points of view…..good and bad. Thanks.

    Home Before Dark is also my favorite Riley Sager that I've read so far! You've read more of his books than me though lol. I really want to read The last time I lied I have to find your author video on him. You inspired me to read midnight feast. I read the guest list and I did enjoy it too.

    Thanks for the video. I was debating picking up the Riley Sager and Lucy Foley books. I think I may get the Lucy Foley book now. Your video was helpful.

    Middle of the Night wasn’t working for me until the end. Not so much the reveals, but the emotions it stirred with certain characters. I ended up enjoying it but I can see why people might not like it.

    If you want to branch out for thrillers and don't mind manga, Junji Ito has a lot of creepy books out to the point some people really got creeped out by it.

    I felt the same way about Middle of the Night. I kept waiting for a twist and there never really was one. It was just meh to me.

    I think the newest Riley Sager book was more of a true crime type of book with a hint of supernatural thrown in. Also, I think the more understated story telling approach with less twists thrown in also might have deterred some readers that loved his more over the top love of twists. Lastly, I do think some of the female readers wouldn't connect with this book because of the male POV vs the female POV of his previous books even though some of the female readers complained about him not properly writing the female point of view.

      @@jamieclarkson8757it was slow and repetitive. When I looked on RUclips for the spoiler, even the person who was talking about the book said the ending was very underwhelming.

    Bummed that Middle of the Night didn’t work for you. It’s one of my most anticipated of the year, but I haven’t heard the best things about it so I’m cautious. Perhaps writing from a male perspective for the first time was not the best choice? Regardless, I’ll probably still give it a try at some point. I just won’t have as high expectations.

    • @citydweller99
      @citydweller99 2 месяца назад

      I actually wish more of the male writers would write from a male point of view. It's more of a true crime approach to writing vs his more over the top previous books.
