- I try to walk you through the initial stages of setting up your carb. Mine has just been rebuilt, and set to factory settings. I had already started to adjust the carb before I started the video, it makes a difference to do this. The final step is to do this in gear docked up securely, I will include a video of this when the time comes! Hope you enjoy my first how to video.
Does the engine need to be warm? Or can you adjust the idler screw anytime.
Do it warm
Is that adapter to screw into the intake directly, one from what came with the gauge? (I have the same gauge for this). This procedure is EXACTLY what I’ve been wanting to do to my TKS 3.0L, but I’m nervous I’ll bust the plug/bolt trying to undo it. I have not found another place to hook it up otherwise. 🇨🇦
It came as a kit from Amazon, the brass fitting was included. You're likely not going to break anything, brass seals very easy so you don't have to crank down on the fitting. Let me know how it goes
@@mattsfixall4552 I mean I’m afraid of busting the stock plug from the manifold itself trying to remove it. I do have the brass one too in the plastic case. 👍🏼
@@barrybebenek8691 you're more than likely to round it off than break it, I'm in Canada also by the way.
Where did You screw your vacuum gauge? i dont have place for that i think..
Sorry for the late reply, never got a notification. There is a threaded plug in your intake manifold, just unscrew it and screw in one of the adapters. Away you go!
@@mattsfixall4552 do You have a location?? ive got v6 4.3
@@kubaSWAT Used google search to check, looks like its near cylinder 1 intake runner. Square pipe plug.
@@kubaSWAT pvc port on back of carb
@@booostedtc im not sure ive it on Mercarb.. ?
Is it normal for it to bouce around like that
No, I think my old boat had worn valve guides. My 350 is nice and smooth
@@mattsfixall4552 i have a rough idle replaced everything plus heads had 2 leaking valves pulled good vacuum but bouncing around alittle new heads and the kitchen skin 4000 later still have a rough idle and a boucy vacum gauge
@@booostedtc what carb? Could also be your gauge. All I did was pinch the hose til it stopped bouncing but was still able to read the gauge accurately
Wheres the carnage? #NDF!
WHATS IT GOT BLUNTMANNNN... Stay safe dude #NDF
Also, happy 420
