@@jeffrutt6331 Hi Jeff, no the Torah doesn't tell us that. The scriptures tell us to afflict our souls. It is a solemn day unto Jehovah. Leviticus 23 will give you the details of the appointed day. The 10 days of awe is also rabbinic tradition. It's important to ask ourselves what the scriptures say. Yeshua is our Savior and High Priest. It's a devastating shame to see those who are saved and redeemed by His blood going backwards into Judaism that did not, and still does not recognize Yeshua as Messiah. They are allowing themselves to become entangled in men's traditions which Messiah warned us against in His Holy Word.
If you would you tube Zev Porat, a beautiful saved rabbi, you'll learn from Him. He's an excellent teacher. His testimony is on you tube, and this is the first place I'd start. You'll hear and understand why he is a very outstanding authority on the Holy Scriptures. He has several videos out regarding all 7 appointed/feast times. He is totally %100 only scriptures- no tradition mixed in, and I'm so grateful for this as I was like you - confused by the many who can't seem to leave men's traditions alone. Blessings!
This question comes to my mind as why this special treatment to Jesus and why not for Mohammed also.

As a Roman Catholic, I needed this from your channel to bring back the original fathers of the church were trying to spread through out the world. Its apocryphal what the New World Order (Masonic) hierarchs are doing. However it had to happen according to the will of our Lord. The 10 days between the Feast of Trumpets and the Day of Atonement parallel the 10 plagues in Exodus, before God’s people were set free…Jubilee!! 🎉
The 7 Trumpets begin to be blown on the Feast of Trumpets, and these 10 days represent the 10 days of plagues, and also that time of unparalleled distress that will come on the whole world before Jesus comes and sets us free!
It also represents the 10 days of persecution in Revelation 2:10:
“Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for 10 DAYS. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.”
It is a solemn day, where we remember and accept what the High Priest, Ram, and Sacrificed Goat provided for us. Atonement was made FOR us.
But there is also a goat that represents a bloodless atonement for those who reject Jesus’ sacrifice, and choose to “atone” for themselves-who will wander in the burning wasteland, enduring an excruciatingly slow, miserable, painful, thirsty death, as they “pay” for their own sin.
The 10 days will not be easy for God’s people-true believers, but at the end of the unparalleled distress, comes the Day of Atonement. For those who accept Jesus’ sacrifice made FOR them, on a Jubilee year, the LAST trumpet will be blown, and we will all be set free!!
🎉 “…have the trumpet sounded everywhere on the 10th day of the 7th month; on the Day of Atonement sound the trumpet throughout your land. Consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you…” 🎉

The Day of Atonement kind of parallels Passover and “Good Friday”.

When Christ died on the Cross the veil which separated the Holy of Holies from the rest of the inner sanctuary was rent from top to bottom. This symbolizes the New Covenant where all have access to God the Father by praying through his Son, Jesus Christ. Truth! People don't seem to understand this most think no one is in heaven but when Jesus died be broke that old law and opened up the way into heaven we don't have to sacrifice a lamb anymore he is the lamb!

Jesus said if you even look at a woman in lust you have already committed adultery. That is not breaking the law that is filling it to its fullest.

This is so strange, even tho Yom Kippur starts tomorrow sundown on the 15th, this morning on the 14th of September, I was asleep and I heard the Lord speaking to me while I was asleep, and he said Tribulation is beginning! Then just a second later this big boom of thunder sounded outside and I awoke... Now this is the third time I have heard the thunder boom this year of 2021 right after the Lord was speaking to me, as if to put a confirmation exclamation point on what he just said. And it's just a single boom of thunder, then silence.

@@keh-dalia809 the night before last (I'm in NYC) I was repenting for my unbelief at times and asking for help, I was repenting of thinking I can do things in my own strength and then I remember saying Lord you desire us to hate the world but be in it and i hate it here but I know you call be me to joyful and I remember looking outside bc I have a wagon that I didn't want to get wet ..and saying to myself it's fine till tomorrow because it doesn't look like rain 🥵 but then this deep thunder roll and rain runs by like it was right over the house deep thunder that followed lightning that lit the whole sky..and I was thinking that I shouldn't be fearful but I felt fearful. So i dont know if it was fear of the Lord showing me that I need to recalculate my thoughts that "there isn't always tomorrow to be guaranteed" that nothing will happen but that I need to get prepared bc the end is near . Back story is I came to Christ 2 yrs only and it's been a heavy load to unpack ...I fell into trying to justify my own faith with rightchous behavior and that lead to pride and unbelief. I was struggling with Joy in the day to day and I was struggling with judging others because I learned what was wrong in God's eyes but I wasn't seeing with salvation eyes I was seeing with condemned eyes. Hope this makes sense !

Unfortunately that was not an innocent omission, but a deliberate act of eradicating the Biblical prophetic feast calendar, and REPLACING IT with the Gregorian pagan feast solstice ( 25th December) keeping calendar, thus launching 2000 years of genocidal antisemitism culminating with the Holocaust!

I see an additional purpose in fasting this way. Eating is THE MOST BASIC THING we can do for ourselves to stay alive. Fasting reminds us that before the judgment seat of God we cannot even do this most basic thing to save ourselves. Not even a morsel can save us. So yes, stay home & fast because you LITERALLY can do NOTHING to earn your salvation...not even eat. You only have faith in our Savior. Only our High Priest can save us. And HE IS ENOUGH! John is not a biblical book.
It is not based upon God's word.
Jesus can't be a High Priest and the messiah.
The High Priest of the temple is a very specific person. A priest of the temple must be from the tribe of Levi. The high priest MUST be a direct descendant of Aaron Moses brother.
According to the Bible, the Messiah must be a descendent of David through his son Solomon (2-Samuel 7:14; 1-Chronicles 17:11-14, 22:9-10, 28:4-6).
The Messiah must be descended on his father's side from King David (see Genesis 49:10, Isaiah 11:1, Jeremiah 23:5, 33:17; Ezekiel 34:23-24).
According to the NT itself he isn't of the proper line of David.
Luke and Matthew have lineage
Luke 3:27 lists Shealtiel and Zerubbabel in his genealogy. These two also appear in Matthew 1:12 as descendants of the cursed Jeconiah.
So both are cursed never to become king.
One of them lists Nathan not Solomon
The messiah's seed must come from his father who is a direct descendant of King David.
NOTE PROPHECY SAYS HIS SEED MUST COME FROM A DIRECT DESCENDANT OF DAVID. Seed as in sperm. Even Romans 1 3 said so.
Neither human parent qualifies. Neither is the father according to the NT and Christians.

King David is from the tribe of Benjamin. Tribal affiliation is through the father.
Technically Jesus has no tribal affiliation as God is the father.

Adoption isn't valid for tribal affiliation. He becomes a stepfather if you will. The adopted can't claim tribal affiliation. Not to mention the biological father must be of the proper line of David.
In short Jesus is neither valid messiah nor valid High Priest.

Its like the name Johnathan is just a romanization of the Hebrew name - Yəhonatan. They aren't different names or people just adjusted pronunciations and spelling due to different languages. The same in nearly every language. Same names (mostly of hebrew origin) exist across Christian countries but the pronunication differs in each language.

You no longer have to pray for forgiveness - when you accepted Lord Jesus as your Savior by His finished work of the cross. Now instead, you thank Him for paying your sin debt. There is nothing we can do. In fact no laws or feast days or traditional obligations are needed because It is finished. Our salvation is a gift from God. We can't add to His gift since that would be like saying to God that he didn't do it all. May God bless you as you grow in understanding.

"During the "Aseret Yemei Teshuva", the conclusion of the Bracha HaEl HaKadosh is switched to HaMelech HaKadosh.[7] If one forgot to say HaMelech HaKadosh and remembered within Toch Kedi Dibbur (2-3 seconds), then one should say HaMelech HaKadosh right then.[8] If one remembered only afterwards one must start from the beginning of Shmoneh Esrei[9] even if one didn't yet begin the next bracha.[10] Once he began the first word of the next beracha automatically he needs to repeat Shemona Esrei.[11]

If you have accepted His offer of Grace, you have full credited righteousness. You are FREE indeed. Jesus’ last words were Tetelestai- it is finished, but also has a financial meaning- ‘paid in FULL’

@@kennethbeltran8000 His work was finished yes. But he also asked us to repent. For me fasting, prayer and doing good deeds - giving to the poor etc are the signs of repentance he asked for. Heeding the message of John the baptist in Luke 3 and Mat 3. Using religious feasts like Lent and Yom Kippur as times to focus on adjusting our behaviours on past wrongs, praying and doing good works show Jesus that we take his teaching and atonement work seriously and for a fresh outpouring of his spirit in our lives to cleanse and renew us which I need right now.

Fasting is crucifying the flesh. Doing so moves the flesh aside so your spirit can commune with your mind, bringing you to a better understanding, and a closer relationship with God. Isaiah 58 spells out the Lord's idea of fasting.
@@sherrysherry1069 fasting means abstaining. Usually food but it could be anything. Hebrews 4:12 shows us there is a difference between soul and spirit. We know God is a Spirit (John 4:24), so we regard our spirit as what gets instantly redeemed when we get saved. Our mind however still has catching up to do, as well as our bodies. Paul spoke of warring with principalities, think principles, or concepts, or thoughts. We regard our mind as our soul, our awareness of self is in our minds. Our bodies are obviously flesh, but our minds(souls) are also. Our minds are what keep us focused on the world instead of the Lord. So long story short.. When you deny food or whatever to your body, your mind (soul) is what rebels. The Spirit is willing though the flesh is weak.. (Matthew 26:41). So Isaiah is talking about fasting, but prayer is always paramount. As stated before, fasting is for the purpose of drawing closer to God. .(Isaiah 58:6)...to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke.. (Matthew 11:30) For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
