Can’t wait to get one! I’m saving up. I’m in love 😍
waste of time and money... just go buy a used cayman or boxster and get a much better car without all the hassle.
Basiclly a American lotus you can build
more like a cayman or boxster without all the pesky safety equipment, interior and build quality.
When are you guys gonna make a GT-40 kit? That body is easily one of the most timeless designs ever made.
Sorry, we do not have plans to add a GT40 kit to our line-up. Stay tuned to our website and social media pages as we'll share updates on what we're working on as they become available.
@@factoryfive why
Because Ford actively holds the trademark and might skewer them for it.
@@ErikSeastead nah, it's probably because other companies are already making it.
One thing that always put me off kit cars is structural safety.
Scared of a roll cage? 😅 Production cars have aluminum bodies not steel roll cages.
@@sleepwalker29 production cars have a variety of structural safety items. They have "Crumple Zones" which will crumple during impact, absorbing kinetic energy. They also have safety cells/cages/compartments. This is the area where the driver and passengers are, and this is designed to be extremely strong and durable. You want your crumple zones to crumple around the safety cage, and the cage to stay strong and in one piece.
I'm in love😍
i have a question, is it legal to drive on public roads?
if so is it simple and easy to get papers for it?
and what about international shipping for the chassis only
I've been considering building an 818c for a while, I was wondering if the GM LZ9 motor would fit in there with the F40 trans, essentially a better balanced 2006 pontiac G6, just wanted to know if something like that was feasible and still make it a safe track car or even street legal track car.
I want to build one so bad
I would be interested to know a little bit more about their safety features.
You can read more about the design of the 818 on our website here - www.factoryfive.com/818/818s/design/.

So... any word on the F9 yet?
Im on the fence about starting a project. How difficult is it so get titled and insured? would the street model pass nys inspection?
yes a few are titled in NY already, you get a packet from the DMV and send in your DOT numbers etc... 2 inspections later and you have a title.
I know this video has ben out for a while. I was looking to build a time attack car. At the top of the rule book, it says this car is not allowed. Anyone know why? What class or race series would it fit in? I live in the southeast. 30min from Carolina Motorsports Park.2hrs from VIR, and 2.5hrs from Road Atlanta.
No Sir. I am from South Carolina. Class of 93. My Father has the same name also. He is from PA.
I'm getting an electric motor for it
I love FFR, but for the life of me I can't figure out why you chose this design over the other design finalists.
FFR if Nouphone won the competition why not use the design.
Alot of the designs would have been too difficult to produce at cost and didn't translate well to RL (even Olmos).
The design they used and then updated is inspiried by them .
On a side note this is actually an old vid. I love the new redesign.
Is the 818 out of production because the Subaru Impreza parts car is now too old and too hard to come by? OK, so design the next model!
