I am one of those who were fascinated by Remi's voice!
Her voice is a treasure of Japan!
And Kame's guitar playing is really great too!
They are a 5 piece with an occasional added rhythm guitarist on top of Remi's rhythm G. But, the original high school members are Remi and Hiroki (Lead G.).

Joy when when I pulled this one up - I was all over the request to do this song, and loved how it turned out. I reckon this is a Japanese song that you could pull off in a cover Ryan! - You've already got the riff, don't know if you'd want to tackle the lyrics in Japanese or a translation 😃but the point is your vocal tone could do this song justice.
I have been listening to almost nothing but GS for about a week and a half. Every song pulls me back to another time. I can't get enough.
One of my Glim Spanky faves!, cool af and what a groove... they nailed the 70's sound better than any other current band
They change the drummer and keyboardist from time to time, but bassist Ohki Kurihara is the "non-official" third member so to speak since he has been constanly recording and touring with them since almost the beginning. For example, you can see him on the "Dummy Rock Blues" music video released in 2013

Remi and Hiroki have been the constants; other positions have had some turnover. I love them, Americans have abandoned down and dirty rock and blues, but leave to the Japanese to pick up the torch.

You are right, there is no point to compare Remi's voice to anyone else's. It's her voice, full stop!
As for the league guitar it is almost replicating her voice and melodies in the same riff! Simple maybe, but genius is often simple. LOL
Incidentally the other musicians are highly talented session musicians. The drummer has played for quite a few famed bands.

Honestly Glim Spanky isn’t really a style of music I listen to much, but damn do I love her voice. Sometimes I just gotta listen to them just for that.

Thank you thank you thank you! Glim Spanky don't get nearly enough attention from reaction channels, IMO. I've been obsessed with them for a couple of years since the moment I heard Remi's voice for the first time. Kame's also become one of my favourite guitarists. Loved hearing you play the riff, too!
If I was forced to pick a favourite song of theirs it would be Otona ni Nattara (When We Grow Up). The MV is a Vevo thing so probably gets blocked, but there's a fabulous live version here if you haven't heard it before:

The real treasure is 焦燥 (Irritation), which presents a very young (teenage?) REMI performing solo at Goose House. Somewhere between Punk Rock and Mountain Music, her song is raw, direct expression of intense emotion about a life of suffering that is electrifying to behold.
