I actually liked the emperor in this one. Normally, with harem plots, I always dislike the emperor. But this time, he actually seemed like a good emperor who had fair judgment and seemed to really care about the FL even he still favored others.
This is a a very good 4 hour drama!!!! I love the ML loving the FL till the end! The FL is so elegantly scheming!!!! No boring part, no many bickering, just right! Very handsome leads ❤
I was thinking that the entire time I was watching it. Only difference is they cut the relationship she had with the empress before she died. They went straight into the part after the empress dowager approved the fl to be a concubine
I like the story, it has a happy ending. I watched another version of this story with a different ending, fl lead never became empress but she was the only one left in the harem the scheming empress secured her position only to be confined in her own palace never to go out forever so her title was nothing but title only😂 fl lead never wanted to be empress she just wanted to survive but the emperor fell madly in love with her so at end they live together had a child and the emperor never had other women aside from fl.
This was a remarkably good drama. ❤ FL is cunning but kind, she doesn’t cross anyone that doesn’t cross her first. ML is quite the chisel jaw strong king, holding his arrogance as the ruler but still managed to show a charming gentle side. The side characters all play a nice place, moving the plot along nicely. There seems to be a side story that’s missing somewhere as there’s a big plot hole in the middle of the story right before the concubine’s death in the cold palace (I don’t remember her being sent there). The quick resolution ending was nicely done and give a happy ending. 10/10 would recommend.
These harem dramas are always interesting, but not usual as sweet as this one. It's beautiful to see the emperor truly fall in love with her over time.

This is another good version. The fl in the previous version I saw was more cunning, but still a good watch. The ml for both are the same, quite oblivious to love at first. But ml here has a more sincere feel to him and is much smarter. The same plot but different vibes to it.
Good for watching, it can be a bit longer. Love how ML isn't a fool. If I have to live in a palace as a Concubine, I don't think I can survive longer than 3 days. 😂 Actually the other Concubine who is FL's friend is so nice different from other movies and the doctor at the end being king's person is a good plot!

Because they weren't given a choice. They're usually married by imperial edict, concubine selection or if the emperor needs to make political alliances. Most concubines never actually saw the emperor and just lived their lives in the palace and became nuns if he died (or, during one era, were buried alive with him to attend him in the afterlife)
Like the story... Although the male lead is a bit older than the female lead they compliment their Characters well👍 if this kind of thing really exist during Dynasty about Emperor's having so many Concubines... It will be a big mess for the Sacredness of Marriage Vows today.

嗯，臉上底妝色和膚色差2個色調，看著的確像，怎麼都不自然，女主演的膚色偏健康色，底妝應該用自然色的妝色。
確實女主本身就很美，可是妝畫得太濃，反而把她本身的美遮掩掉了
尤其是眼妆，最初的感觉把整个眼睛都化凹进去了
