Yep. I'm a deadlock main. The sensors are just too weak for serious play as a solo sentinel. Not only are they bypassed by shifting (fair), they take what feels like 5 million years to go off (riot pls buff). Best way to use them atm is to enhance other sentinel utility (trips, turret and one-way cages are best in my experience).
@@simba3610 Even though this is months late, I'll reply to it for anyone else who's reading this. I'm also a Deadlock Main and you DON'T use her traps for info. You use them to stun Agents in locations where they are guaranteed to make sound, such as defusing, fighting, or using abilities. They are more offensive in nature than passive compared to Cypher's tripwires. To further use them to their maximum protection, you want to see your wall lock down one location and have your traps set up in the only direction where they could move. Or, you have a trap set up right next to your wall, and once the enemies start shooting through it, they'll activate the trap, and give you free kills.
I still feel like she would be pretty solid if the sonic sensor wasn’t JUST sound based. It can keep its sound based qualities that it has now, but also have it go off if you get to the center of the radius like a proper trip. That way you actually have to break it to get past, or you get stunned. The Deadlock player would at least be able to rely on it unlike now. More similar to how a Cypher trip works
I think its fine Sound Base cause its NOT meant to be a trip and people are forgetting that. It's to slow rushes not watch flank. I think if anything they can just make it so it gets triggered by Walking in general and just have you to crouch past it.
@@funkycrawler619problem is many teams tend to play slow and you can hear the trap. So why not make it invisible permanently in order to caught enemies off guard through that
A unique mechanic, why not make the sensor have two modes, an activated and deactivated. The main difference is that one will be invisible and stun off sound but you wont get indication The other is visible but only alert deadlock of any enemy detection and is also louder It would make it strong in one aspect instead of doing everything poorly
bro then people will just put two next to each other one in each mode, so that when people destroy the visible they get to know and the invisible stuns the enemy who destroyed the trip
Looks like Deadlock ult has some value when used like a Raze Showstopper, like at 1:26 you just pop it for an exec or a fake, all defenders run away and you get free space. Might be easier to farm than Raze Showstopper too, especially on non-Raze maps like Ascent
For deadlock I think they could do the same with the sensors as the did with the cypher trips in his recent buffs which is to restun after being triggered after a short interval as right now lets just say a Jett dash will trigger those stuns and then the rest of the teams bait out those stuns and scale up behind and at the end there is nothing left to slow the push. Also the timing of sensor activation needs to be less than whats it is currently that I agree on. One more idea I had for a very long time is that they could give us the option to use the sensors either as a trap (as it currently is) or we could change the mode by pressing a key like how we change the omen smoke pov and then we get a screen like a brim i pad where we can throw activated stuns in a range anywhere on the map depending on the range of the ipad screen. This could possibly solve one of the problems with deadlock being useless on attack as now she can stun common angles and corners by launching stuns for her team. The gravnet recent buff was good but one more thing I could suggest is that they could add the element of suppression to it and after throwing it suppresses the enemies in a range like how it is in the gekko ult. That way also she can be useful in attack as suppressing enemies when entering site would allow teammates to fight easily and delay some enemy utility. The devs said that she is more of a "reactive" sentinel and these suggested changes will make her more reactive and help out team in numerous ways than what it is currently.
I genuinely feel people completely overlook that her kit is pretty decent with just needing buffs and not completely bad for what its intended for (unlike say, Yoru 1.0). Deadlock has really solid maps, Ascent being one of them, and I hope with buffs people will stop overlooking her cause the foundation is there. I also think her ult being 6 points would even be a massive boost to her kit and feel that could even be a simple start if they dont wanna change too much.
I still feel that the agent is bad though. Her trips can't watch flank. Her barrier needs to be coupled with other abilities to be effective (e.g. barrier + smoke during attack in this clip). Her tool kit doesn't hold flank and doesn't hold sites very well compared to others. She doesn't add much value to attack either (she can't help entry much). Other agents would add way more value to the comp compared to deadlock. I would be curious how riot could buff deadlock without reworking the concepts of her skills. You raised a good point about ulti being 6 points, but riot would nerf it if teams start to abuse it for sure, because that is the direction riot is taking when teams start feeding agents ulti orbs to spam ultis.

Deadlock small wall buff idea - barrier doesn’t break by itself but lowers HP to 1 after time. Should give longer control and to get past it needs some level of noise. Good for sonic sensor :))
A good buff for barrier sentinels would be to remove the timer on their barriers, like Sage's wall and Deadlock's barrier mesh. This makes it so that the enemy HAS to break the barrier to enter into a specific part of the map, and increases the value by a tremendous amount. For Deadlock I'd like the stun to last a little longer and stun faster.
when deadlock wall first got shown off i immediately thought, what if (as the defense team) you throw the wall through the window on ascent b, landing at the back of b main to prevent the opponents from running out, then use sova ult from mid to hit the entire horizontal of b main (or brim ult, or you can add mollies, etc etc)
Enemy death also make noise for deadlock trap huh. Deadlock is that uninspiring for the devs that they still not fix this bug that could potential be fix by simply changing sequence and little bit more in the game it seems.
Like a lot of people said, deadlock isnt good as a solo sentinel. That why NIP are also running a cypher. Still great to see a team have succes with the worst agent in the game
I think feeding deadlock orbs is a good idea, deadlock played well and got quite a few kills this match which allowed them to get good value from the ult, but in order to make that value more consistent seeing her be a spike planter/ orb taker could be quite good.
Following the buffs, I think the only thing that is needed at this point is to make the wall rechargeable, it disapears after 30 seconds so I think they should just change it to be on the same timings as the sage wall
I like DL. Her core gameplay is delay, delay, delay! If you are against a DL, it’s hard to pull synchronised exects from 2 entry paths. It’s easier to take 1 duels at a time with her kit. But for 3 site maps, a DL is not enough. You will need 2 sentinels or at least a pseudo sentinel like Viper.

Not even that, Stuns just aren't a consistent impairment if players can still get MULTI Kills while stunned. They should nerf the fire rate while stunned then I'd think it'd be a more consistent CC.
I think valorant should just make the walking character give a very low sound which wont be audible by any players to the most part but would be enough for the sonic sensors to detect it, plus they should make the concuss range a cone like old breach ult so people can play around the sensors more easily. and changing the activation time and little buffs would help as well.
