    Neat, just found like 12 1N4148 diodes on an old PC psu, really like their size for breadboard and diu circuits

    4 nanosecs is 250 Mhz, the inverse of the time is the frecuency.

      You would be losing a big chunk of the signal if you were actually trying to switch that frequency, so usually you want a frequency a few times lower depending on the required integrity of the output waveform
