    Lightning is an electrical discharge caused by imbalances between storm clouds and the ground, or within the clouds themselves. To learn more, read on here: on.natgeo.com/2IqDxtK

I for some reason get super excited when a severe storm or supercell comes, around. The power is exhilarating and awe inspiring. It's unfortunate that the strongest of storms can lead to terrible damage and suffering.

    Tornadoes although rare, do happen in Australia. Thunderstorms are usually active in the southern Australian states from November through summer but can occur anytime. In the northern tropics such as the northern territory, thunderstorms occur from November to April as part of the wet season.

    GREEN LIGHTNING: During a big thunderstorm over Indianapolis just two weeks ago I went out to watch. Lightning was flashing pretty heavily not very far away. Mostly sidewise in the sky. It started feeling really weird out so I went back inside and stood by the big picture window watching. Looking as straight up as you can from a window, I saw a green🍏 flash just behind a layer of clouds. What the heck was that? Then seconds later the base of a huge thunderstorm that was directly above me opened up and a bright green funnel cloud poked it's head below the clouds. I was looking straight up inside a neon green tornado inside the huge thunderhead! Slowly, (a couple seconds), the funnel cloud pulled back up and the color and the opening were gone. I am 68 and I have never seen anything like it before in my life. I think I may be one of the few people on the planet that has seen that. Wild!

  • @theprices417
    @theprices417 3 года назад +1

    Her description of how thunder forms is incorrect. Rapid heating of the surrounding air (created from the lightning bolt) causes the air to expand very quickly creating an air pressure wave (similar to a blown up paper bag being burst).

    I love thunderstorms so much but i live in california so we get like 1 or 2 per year lol. Also the roar right before hail starts, is the best sound ever, maybe even better than thunder rumbling

    Once I was outside and it was a bit of raining., suddenly a splendour light came to me from thunderstorms.( it was just light ) ..I collapsed, I thought it would be my last movement, got so scared. ...
    After that incident ,in rainy season I don't go out

    The Multi Cell storm actually has a supercell embedded in it because if you slow it down, you can see a characteristic hook shape over Wynnewood which I believe it's the May 9th 2016 Katie Wyynewood tornado and the Mile Wide Sulphur Oklahoma EF3
