I loved that you did not try to be fancy, just used electrical tape over soldering or adding things "to make it better" and kept it simple. Too many on channels try and show off knowledge and their talent rather than speak down to the level of those starting or learning.
I'm a long time terrain maker, never had much need to use static grass and after watching DOZENS of videos where buying one would be easier and more convenient than the DYI methods they present, I decided to do without. Now that I am into train modeling I want to add static grass WITHOUT spending tons of money on an applicator and your video IS the way I am heading, thanks!

thanks... I make wooden flutes but got bored and made a couple flying saucers using large, old branches with dark heartwood and light sapwood. This makes the saucer dome dark and the wider circle light-colored, all in one piece of wood, but orienting the grain this way on the lathe, for making a UFO or spinning top etc. makes it hard (all end-grain where you're doing all your cutting). A damaged one can be a "crashed" UFO where you bury the damage like it was intentional. But it deserves to be on a quality ground scene. Thanks.
