Good to see Reto listening to their testers and acting upon their observations of this camera.
Yes, I feel that they took our feedback seriously
Great that they took in the feedback and improved the camera!
Also lovely to see that last look of nice and pleasant weather with green colours as we in Sweden officially entered the winter "light" season when we changed our clocks and will very fast see the last leaves fall of the trees and will have to deal with less and less "daylight"
We’re changing our clocks next weekend
Great photos! I'm glad these shutter issues were fixed. The quality of these shots really blow me away for such a small, "disposable-style" camera.
I still need to scan my 1st roll from my H35 to see how it turned out.
Thanks JT! I was a lot happier with this round of photos.
@@theoldcameraguy Yeah they looked great! They could rival photos taken on any other point & shoot from what I've seen here in your video.
The first pair of images @1:11 contrast nicely. 🙂
Thank You
I've been having trouble winding my film as well in my H35N, I thought it was just me or something wrong with how I loaded my film! I guess maybe I should shoot them an email. Bit nervous now to see my first roll lol but glad to hear they've fixed such issues and sent you a replacement!
Love the photos you got here, beautiful colors!
Yes, I would reach out - The winding issue is a known problem.
Nice work by Reto to send you another camera out. I really like how you paired up the images and the double exposures worked really well.
Thanks Andy
Glad your feedback helped to improve the camera! yay! This looks like a fun camera and one I might want to add. Thanks for sharing your experience! Great photos and video as always!
Thanks Kary - Yes, Reto was very responsive to our feedback and it really is a fun little camera.
Thank you for the testing and update on the camera -- the photos look great -- sharp and great exposure/color! And it's awesome to see a carnival on main street of a small town!
I was much happier with the results on this round - Thanks!
nice update video!! the improvements were definitely welcomed :) also, awesome diptychs!! very clever the first one haha
Thanks Molly!
Dude I dunno if it's just a case 'oh shiny new' ape brain, but those look SO MUCH sharper than the original H35.
Yeah, this updated version looks sharper for sure
nice images. No wonder the colors are saturated. Ektar is my favorite film.
I really dig Ektar too
Nice that they listened! Clever combination of images in the photos. 📷
Thanks Michelle. They were very responsive to our feedback
Love the double exposure silhouette/leaves shots!
My favorites too!
Wonderful results. I can’t wait to take mine out. I have a couple of cameras to test first then I’m gonna be doing some street photography with it.
Thanks - Should be fun for street!
this video made me feel peaceful
Great to hear they actually field test their cameras, Dave! What film did you use? What iso do they recommend in this camera? Great video. ❤
Thanks Anthony - I used Kodak Ektar 100. ISO 100 is good for sunny days, 200 for overcast
@@theoldcameraguy Thanks Dave! Wow great to see a new camera that takes lower speed film. They all seem to want 400 elsewhere.
Love the shots !
I'm a total newb in film. Would you recommend this camera for a newbie?
It is pretty good, but it is half frame, so each image is lower resolution. If you want full frame, there are a lot of similar starter cameras, like Kodak M35 or M38, Ilford Sprite, or Agfa Photo reusable - here’s a link for my Agfa review ruclips.net/video/TbdE5tHbfHs/видео.htmlsi=wQAedenIHRT1e3Zl
@@theoldcameraguy really very helpful. Thank you so much! Appreciate it a lot!
@chunleecai9374 You’re welcome!
Grillin Dave Style!!!
Of Course!
Hi very sharp images, good exposure, what film did you used?
Kodak Ektar 100
marvelous film
@@theoldcameraguy
Do you use Silverfast with your Epson? I'm curious if "Express Scan" identifies half frames. I know with the flatbed the resolution on a v8 would only be about 5mp for half frame, but the idea of getting 48 frames in one pass using the 4 strip holder and 24 exposure film roll is attractive. I'm tempted to buy one of these and test the lens. The original was pretty darn weak, but your shots look decently sharp. Cheers!
I use EpsonScan 2 and it scanned as in the video (2 images on each frame). This one does seem a bit sharper than the original.
So I purchased mine an amazon and had the same results you first had with camera shake and it jammed 3 times. Amazon sold out quickly, I actually purchased the last one in which I returned. I was not a tester, I guess they released a small batch in the beginning? Now if I purchase from a store that has how Do I know I’m getting a revised one? Are they marked at all or did they do a recall of all the previous ones that retailers have for sale?
I have not seen any recall notice anywhere. The new camera’s packaging is the same as the original, so honestly, it would be hard to distinguish between the two generations.
Great pics! May I ask which film you used? Cheers! 🇨🇦
Thanks - Kodak Ektar 100
@@theoldcameraguy Thank you, appreciate it. I believe that ISO is fixed at 100 in the Ektar H35 and H35N. Some say only use 100 ISO in them, others say it doesn't matter.
@thehonestguitarist6543 ISO 100 is good for sunny days, 200 for overcast
@@theoldcameraguy well, it well be overcast for the next six months along the Niagara frontier so I know which I'll be getting.😂
Is it me, or are the photos much sharper, too?
Yes - Better shutter mechanism
Is the half frame means half resolution? And it would be more less density than full frame?
Yes, since it squeezes 2 images onto a single frame, each image has lower resolution.
When the glass is what matters why spend on this when you could have something decent?
Dies picture services print on half frame on one paper or 2 half frames on one?
Usually 2 half frames on one sheet
@@theoldcameraguy best is self scanning and send the JPGs to the picture service. What largest sheet format would you recommend?
@@thorstenjaspert93948x12 if you don’t mind grain
Does that mean that my current one that I got a few months back has motion blur?
Might still be OK - I got my original preproduction model before the regular production model started shipping. Holding it very still helps
Unfortunately if it’s that finicky it will be sold with a bad review from me, Kodak have enough years in the business to make a decent camera for the price
@aperture_priority Reto makes the camera - they license the name from Kodak
