Post-Video Quiz: 1. What is the purpose of the circulatory system? (0:08) 2. What are the three main things the circulatory system relies on? (0:17) 3. Why could you think of our circulatory system as a double circulatory system? (0:38) 4. What are the atria and the ventricles? (1:51) 5. Is the blood from the pulmonary vein oxygenated or deoxygenated? (2:28) 6. Is the blood from the vena cava oxygenated or deoxygenated? (2:33) 7. Where does the blood from the vena cava go after the ventricles? (2:40) 8. Where does the blood from the pulmonary vein go after the ventricles? (2:40) 9. What do veins and arteries do? (3:49) 10. How does the heart get its own blood supply? (4:32)
3:52 another way to remember this is veIN meaning it carries blood INto the heart and Arteries meaning they carry blood Away from the heart just to make it clearer the capital letters are supposed to be the hints
A nice way of knowing where the veins and arteries carry blood is in the name. 'V' in vein looks like a down arrow, pointing down towards the heart. 'A' in artery looks like an up arrow, pointing up away from the heart. Hope this helps!
Hands down the best educational channel. Hats off to you guys for providing these videos for free to thousands of students online... Thanks a lot Cognito!!
lmao yea i just learnt my whole bio unit for this term in an hour ish then there's my bio teacher who "teaches" a topic for an hour and i learn nothing
gcse tomorrow im just learning the stuff that never sticks for me and i love the way you taught it , i was always taught vava vava but you taught the atria together and the ventricles together that really helped thank you
Oh my god my teacher has been teaching this for 3 weeks now still nothing went in my brain but just by watching this video I understood everything...cognito is doing such a great job
nah they never taught us the circulatory system in highschool. And they be having state tests requiring background knowledge of physiology and anatomy.
Thanks! The heart has always been the hardest topic for me I just never understood it: hopefully I can clutch it for my gcse tomorrow.. good luck everyone else here for exams
I wish I would have watched this video before my science exam, it was today and we were supposed to draw the anatomy of a human heart, I didn't score well in that but this video made it clear thanks.
Thank you this video is so helpful!! I was so confused but I think I get it now (feel free to ignore this) Deoxygenated blood enters the heart from the body through the Vena Cava and into the right atrium, Oxygenated blood enters the heart from the lungs through the Pulmonary artery and into the left atrium, The atria contract together and pushed the blood into the ventricles, The ventricles contract together and push the : Deoxygenated blood into the pulmonary artery to be taken to the lungs, Oxygenated blood into the aorta to be taken to the rest of the body, while this happens the atria are being filled with new blood and the cycle repeats continuously.
Sorry, I don’t mean to be pedantic but the pulmonary artery carries blood away from the heart. A way to remember this is ‘artery’ has an ‘a’ in it, and so does ‘away’ so that should help 😊 ‘Pulmonary’ also means ‘lung’ so that might be helpful too :)
So you're telling me this dude explained it in 5 minutes and I actually understood it, but when my teacher takes an entire lesson to explain it I don't understand a single thing??
This was one of those confusing and horrible topics that It was all greek to me but now its way clearer and understandable whenever I hear my friends say I don't understand this topic or that topic I simply say to visit cognito to any of my friends who has the same probs. Thank you so much! You have no idea how much this means Tysm😍😍
Damn I'm studying for my IGCSE in this october nov and was stuggling a bit in this topic. After watching this, the video made it so much easier for me to understand.
It will be much better if you please right everything what you teach because I miss some important sentences so I feel bad but overall this channel is lovable ❣️❣️ thankx you
This is a very good video and has helped me, however I think if you have added that the left side of the heart has more muscle because it has to be pumped to the whole body, it would be more complete.. but overall it’s 🎉🎉
