Nothing like a good old knife review with it in practical use.
I really liked this video! I loved that you showed the dinosaur foot prints and you even brought an example! You are a good teacher!
Glad you enjoyed it!i jsut love sharing nature with people
Excellent! Loved the dinosaur tracks, very cool. I need to get another LT Wright soon. This one looks pretty damn good. Thanks for the review brother!
dude i actaully think youd love this one. it takes all the strengths of the classic camp/bushcraft knife but jsut has added strength
Loved the Dino tracks brother. That was an educational surprise 🤠
that was my favorite part! i love to incorporate unique moments like these
I love how you do your knife reviews. Thanks for sharing.

Cuervo’s music is sounding really good... I’m sensing a Native American vibe.👍
Love that opening song by Quervo. Kept expecting you to turn into Clint Eastwood! Great video!
Me three!!😁✊🔥
I really liked this video, thanks James
glad you liked it! all of this beauty is right in our own backyard! our beautiful backyard
18:13 you probably picked the one cactus that Cuervo took a leak on 😂😂😂😂

I could listen to Cuervo music all day and night. Relaxing! Thanks for the video and your view on the knives. I was looking to buy some for my hubs and son’s. Much appreciated
This is fantastic video. A knife review a skill tutorial and a dinosaur Ichnology lesson. This is about as good as a video could be.
thank you! i love to just share our adventures and the natural beauty of this world with people!
Hell yeah, one of my favorite tracks from Cuervo. Takes me right back to the operation survival days!
Ooo the cactus eating takes me back too... 🥴
hell yeah! good times!
Well done my friend well done.
Thanks for the visit
Junkyard Fox 👍🏻👊🏻
LT Wright outback in 3v is my go to camp knife. Also as others has mentioned, the music in your channel is very soothing and relaxing. An upgrade from the usual generic electronic bebop other youtubers use.
thats my buddy Cuervo(cameraman and composer), all the music comes form him
The crawfish trap and dinosaur print won me over. Subscribed...
welcome aboard!
That really does look like a kick-ass knife. Good video James.
this is all the magic of LT right here, they make incredible blades
Love that green river knife
be sure to check out our newest video on steak tacos, the green river shines
@@JunkyardFox I seen it James and it looked delicious.
I really like nopales. I usually peel them from the spikes? (espinas ) and then I boiled them with salt or I put them directly on the fire to roast
Very cool! I love foraging / catch and cook videos. Subed
I like your videos, I am from El Paso Texas and one thing I like is the desert. I can relate with the stuff that you do. Knowledge is past on or forgotten. My elders are gone , I have some knowledge but I have learned some of you. I appreciate all that you do.
I appreciate that, i always hope to reach people who have lost a lot of their ancestral knowledge
Well done James and Cuervo. Quality as always. Music was especially on point in this video. Appreciate the knowledge shared and skills displayed also.
Glad you enjoyed it
I've been wanting to get me a workhorse of a knife. Awesome review
Can't help but think that by cutting the screw top on the 2 liter off, you would allow LARGER crawdads to access the trap, and I don't see it hampering the functionality of the trap.. just a suggestion.😉
interesting, ill try it out next time
I could just watch cactus video cooking only, something about it is captivating. So interesting and satisfying. Looks so yummy
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video by the way james.👊🤘👍👏👏👏👏👏
The crawfish reminds me of things my dad did with his brother as teenagers. He said they would fish for them in the ditch down the street where they lived. Good video
I like your videos. Being from NM your videos show the servival i would be doing. Other channels dont really give the desert Southwest its due. Maybe thats why i like your videos so much, Its home.
im so glad to hear that! thank you for watching!
Ese James, the review was great and Cuercos music was amazing as well... hats off to both of you.
Great Video. Location, Review, Trap, Music, Dinner, and the Dinosaur were all really, really good. Nice Job. Loved it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
James--always take more water than needed. I'd love one of those knives.
normally we have spare water in th truck, butthis day we ran out and man did we need it lol
Great review. You do my favourite reviews on RUclips with practical use tests.
Wow, thank you!
Another outstanding knife review. Great job to both you and Cuervo.
thank you for joining us in another adventure, Jaime!
Great looking blade, well demonstrated👍. Delicious looking breakfast my friend!💪
Glad you enjoyed it! thank you for joining us!
Just wanted to say I've been watching your videos for a while now and I really enjoy them. Great job!
Another great video guys!🤠
Glad you enjoyed it
That is an impressive looking knife. The crawfish trap worked like a charm. That was a great looking meal with the cactus. I really love the music too. Cheers!
im glad you like our stuff! we really put our hearts and souls into them.
Fantastic music, the whistling...very Sergio Leone lol Great review James, very cool to find those tracks. Be neat to cast one of them. ☺️👍
Glad you enjoyed it
I have never seen a crayfish trap made from a two liter bottle. Thats was pretty awesome! I'm gonna have to use it. Awesome video!
Thanks for watching!
Awesome channel 👏 great information.
Wow. Super educational in so many ways. Great job
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video guys....banged all the basics out of the park & that trap was a cool idea👍🏻. My son ( I mean me) wants a link for that Texas 🦖Trex??
it is a gorgeous animal, i wish it got more attention from most folks. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acrocanthosaurus
As always killer video !!! The dinosaur tracks was really cool !!!
honestly thats my favorite moment from this video
Looks like a great knife 🔪 the handles are great - the scalped scales are very nice and the dangler sheath is top notch - great video - educational
im so glad you could join us!
Good video. Nice job working the dinosaur tracks into it.
Thanks for the visit. ive been wanting to incorporate them into a video for years!
nice job james. Been a fan since 2016. always know i will like the content even before i watch. You guys are 1 of my fav you tubers. Thank you.
thank you very much! we appreciate the support!
Nice dude. Not sure how I feel about the food choice, but it's always fun to see non traditional knife reviews
I'll take this as your one stick fire response 🤙👣
Jimmy!!! Mine was better haha 😁✊🔥
thank you for joining us, buddy!
Good one young man. Always like these foraging videos.
More to come!
Great video! Those crawdads looked delicious!
thank you for watching! sorry it took so long for the review! incredible blade!
Nopales con langostinos!!!
Delicious!!!
Great vid mate. Just nabbed one in burlap from KnivesShipFree. Take care.
Great to see your Green River Knife again. Very functional and yours looks great. I believe the puukko is a GB2 (Grey Bearded Green Beret) Puukko, not a Pathfinder Puukko.
ah okay i didnt know that about the puukko. youll be seeing the green river knife again in the next video
Excellent review as always. I'm going to try your crayfish trap on my next backpacking trip.
Have fun! just be careful with your local game laws, these are illegal in certain places.
Sweet knife review, food looking awesome
thanks for stopping by, joseph!
I love this music brother.
you gotta thank Cuervo(the cameraman and composer) for the fire jams
@@JunkyardFox will do it's Awesome, Is there a place that i can buy his music?
Aaron Dyer yeah look at our description box beneath the video. The link that says bandcamp is the one that has all of Cuervos music for sale
@@JunkyardFox Awesome, thanks.
Great review! thanks for the hard work
My pleasure!
Nopalitos n crawdads. Sounds good to me. Been off grid for about a month or so. Moved back home up in the mountains.
When i herd that Whistling i thought i was gonna be surrounded by Apache Warriors..nice video, the knife looks like it's quality made...
thats my buddy Cuervo Negro (cameraman and composer) thats responsible for the jams.
I can't wait till have this breakfast.
I love it more food ! !
My favorite ! ! !
And God bless yous and yours family's ! ! ! !
Same to you! thanks for joining us!
Grt review. Thx for the video
Thanks for watching!
Nopales and crayfish...👌🏼
I’m not much into eating nopales but, the nopales with crayfish looked great !
living off the land!
Well junkyard fox for your application the tip is strong, But prying the tip a bit is a functional application for other people’s applications it’s not goofy a tip should to light prying.
Love the video
Good review doing real world tasks.
Crawdads and nopales over open fire! 😋 That's good eating❤
living off the land!
Nice knives😍
unfortunately not available in Turkey I guess but nice vid and nice blade.Thx James.
Now is the summer of our discontent
The summer of black flies and sweat.
lol its ridiculous how bold they are this year, even with big repellent and fires, the flies dont go away
Another great episode cooking with junkyard fox should have put a broth and had crawlfish cactus 🌵 soup
That would be cool! maybe ill do something like that during the winter months?
Fox and crow cookbook
James, thanks so much for taking the time to do this review. Still on the fence between this knife and the LT Wright Outback?
ive never used the Outback so im not sure which is better but being an LT knife, theres no doubt they both are incredible blades
GOOD VID GOOD TUNES GUYS. TAKE CARE..
Nice show kid! I just had some grilled nopal last night at a bbq with some short ribs. Next time try boiling the nopal then grill. Keep up the good work. Oh and hay to The Cuervo!
Thanks for the tip! honestly it was way too hot to boil them but thats usually what i do at home. will do that in a future video
Very nice video
My favorite camping/hunting knife is a LT Wright Gen 5! I own a twin to yours. Even same color handles ! We found dinosaur tracks like that while camping near San Angelo TX. Where were the ones in this video?
Awesome! no these tracks are in New Mexico
I'm glad the critters that made a track that size are gone! And re: the prickle pear pads, have you noticed if the taste varies according to the age? I've only had the real young ones that are bright green (at a cafe in SA) and they tasted similar to okra. They were pretty good along with some eggs and I don't remember what else.
Thank you thank you thank you for not showing how to destroy your knife. I see those other reviews and it makes me cringe with the abuse they put a knife through. Yes, it’s strong, yes it may hold up. No, I would never do that to my expensive Tops, Benchmade, or Snake Eater.
Just boiling crawfish is fine, but add a little salt, ground garlic and some red pepper to the water, (a bit more Cajun, "more better"). Yum.
For those poor folks that can't take seeing the crawfish cook, the poor things die almost instantly when dropped into boiling water. ;-)
love it!
I can’t afford a genesis so I purchased a condor bush lore . Genesis is probably my dream blade ! Hopefully can get one someday.
its definitely worth it. incredbile blades
Where is this at ? I would like to see the footprints in person
thsi is in the mount cristo rey are in sunland park, nm
10/10 man. Now I want a pot of crawdads xD
this was such an adventure!
This doesn’t look little😅
But looks to be a great outdoor blade.
hell ya! nice! 🤘😲🤘 jeez do i got a story of almost chopping my finger tip off at the last joint or w.e. batoning some wood on a hiking break with my rambo knife!! was horrible. been doing outdoors my whole life, 28yrs old. just got careless!
eeeesh, you gotta be careful with that lol
Awesome great video, looks like you got the perfect cactus pad that's a great knife, one of these days alice I'll get one. Are you guys still filming in New Mexico? Shalam? Good work fellas.
yeah this was filmed in the sunland park/anthony nm region
Love me some Napolitos
I have the gen5 in scandi and absolutely love it I also have the regular genesis and like the gen5 a lot better than it
Great video. It's amazing those crawdads and squeeze in there. Would you say they gave you more calories than the bacon used though? And Cuervo killed it on the music in this one!
the bacon was already old though, i was about to throw it out when i thought of this idea for the video
As I use knives more and more I prefer a spear point type knife just works better for everything well for me anyway
its definitely the most practical design
Nice video mate! Looks like a great knife. But how are you handling the rust on the A2? :)
the A2 is no problem here in the desert, just wipe it dry after use and youre good to go
@@JunkyardFox Ok. Thanks for your answer ^-^
Who makes the pathfinder puuko?
Great vid! Do you prefer the Genesis over the GNS? Or vice verse?
i really enjoy them both, i prefer the gns' comfortable handle, but realistically, the kephart sytle blade is more useful for tasks i usually do.
And they music is freaking excellent on this vid! Cuervo channeling his inner BonJovie from the Young Guns movies!
Do you have a video on Full flat Genesis? Would you put it in your top 5 fixed blades? I'm btween it and the Bark River Bravo 1LT, for a general use outdoors knife. I would really appriciate any opinions from anybody. Thanks
Do you have a review on that pathfinder puukko??
not yet, maybe this coming year
Amazing James,,, I’ve seen you eat the fruits,, but not the leaf,,, the crayfish look a little different then in Virginia. Longer arm to claw,, interesting. Do you have a PO Box address you could give me. I’ve got some spice that’s from the North East,,,ie, “Maryland”, Virginia and above. This would go great with your cook kit. Great job,, I’ll check out the knife,,,, God bless,,,
Appalachian Trucker
we do have a few videos on cooking the pads, not as tasty as the fruit but they are abundant and available year round.
OP JF needs a Bark River Kephart
those are very nice
@@JunkyardFox My fav knife EVER.I EDC the mini via neck carry
Try the white river ursus45
