I'm a novice. I've only done my own nails, and that was 15 years ago with acrylics and a Dremel! Now I'm getting back into it and it's overwhelming how much there is to learn! But I really like doing my own nails, so I appreciate videos like yours. Thank you for taking the time to explain!
Thanks for the tips, lol yep I’m that person who thought some of those “Dont’s” would work. Thanks for the last tip it’s just what I needed 🌸🐨🌸
WOWWWWW THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS! i've been looking for gel nail art tutorials for so long and you have finally come through with these detailed descriptions of what to do AND what not to do! i'm definitely going to try this. awesome video!!!
Exactly same reason I love gel polish. Accident, what accident?? 😄
Loving your personality 🤗
what do you use to wipe away any mistakes before it's cured? just a brush with water on or acetone?
@@nicolegabay992 I use IPA (rubbing alcohol) and a small angle brush (wet n wild). A damp brush can remove any uncured gel polish. If there's a lot (like me lol) wipe the brush off as you go and rinse with alcohol. I use old t-shirts or paper towels.
Great video! I never use striping tape that often in my gel designs but with these tips there's nothing that could go wrong 🤭💕
femketjeNL thanks💗 and I usually don’t either but now I just might do some easy nail ideas using gel!
I'm still grateful for this video, 4 years later, because here in the next 2-3 days I'll be doing candy cane nails, and I DESPERATELY needed the refresher on how to use striping tape with gel! It's been at least 2-3 years since I used it.
ok. LOL! Literally did all the "don'ts" last night while practicing my nail art haha! The last "do" was the one thing I didn't do...Thanks so much for this, because it was driving me absolutely batty!
THANK YOUUU for explaining about the tacky layer
Thank you so much for all the tips. My sister is trying to get into doing gel nails and I'm her guinea pig. And we were trying to figure out how to properly us the tape with gel nail polish. So thank you so much! Lot's of love from Toronto 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
This was very helpful, thank you so much! IC had problems with the last version you showed and the way to show how it is NOT done and finishing with the right way helps a lot to understand the differences. You rock!
Second video I've watched of yours. Great tutorial again. I've been teaching myself to do nails since this stupid world shutdown and it has seriously kept me sane. But striping tape was getting the best of me. Now I know the dos and don'ts thanks to you. And, again, didn't have to skip forward past any talking.
Life saver!! This is what I needed!! 😊❤️ Thank you
Good video. Tried it, the nail strips for me were a pain in the butt. I did black on bottom with purple glitter over it. Possibly didn’t choose the right colors. I decided to run the end of a QTip over it to create my own design while the polish was still wet. I like the effect this had. Might do the strips in future as a guide to follow for my own design
This was so helpful. I literally would have tried all the don’t‘s first. Thank you!!!
so glad it was helpful!
You were so thorough with all of your steps! I can't wait to try. Such a great tutorial!
Thank you so much for this video! I have been trying to do this, and could not figure it out!
DUDE! THANK YOU! I could NOT figure out why my tape wouldn't freaking stay put! It was making me CRAZY!
I love you now. Haha
Thank you soo much Gabby, i had a vision of a nail design (checkered) however it wasn’t working with the striping tape but now it will
Thank you... I was doing all of the Don’ts and gave up... now I can try again 😊 yippee 🥳
THIS WAS SO HELPFUL THANK YOU
really smart idea to add the second coat and then remove the tape :) thank you for sharing your tips :)
Im about to try red stripes to practice doing my friends July 4 nails. I was really struggling.
Thank you SO MUCH!
i love that idea too and i can't wait to try this
I've been doing my nails at home for years but I have NEVER layered my colours - you may have just changed my life!
Yes the new driving instructor episode lmao
Honestly these are really helpful ily ❤️
KenKen Rae so glad they help!💗
YOU ARE AWESOME! Do more filmslike that. But can they be a bit slower? There is so much information in it!!!
Very helpful!! Now I know how to use striping tape with gel. Can't wait to try it!
So helpful thank you!! I was thinking though, what if you flash cured the gel for a few seconds, peeled the tape, and then finished curing the gel? I wonder if the gel would still peel?
Thanks for this video , bc I couldn't get it right using the gel polish. I did it right with regular nail polish.
Gabby,
You rock, girl! These are such great tips & techniques! Thank you SO MUCH! You are the *QUEEN* of stripping tape!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻😘💯🔥✨🤗
Super appreciate all those tips! I was trying to do this last night- I'll do it better next time =)
Okay. Thanks for those tips. But do you have a video on how to use striping tape as a feature on the nails for division of colours or as a feature over gel nail polish?? Much Respect 🌹♥️‼️
OMG this is so helpful thanks 4 years ago fast forward. Thanks girl cus I was like what the af am I doing wrong
Omg this helped so much !!!
I tried and works! Now I Can do nail gel art
YESSSSSSS! Made perfect sense, thanks it was exactly what I was looking for👍
Thanks for sharing, definitely learned a lot. Do you perhaps have any tips if you use the tape in the design? I. E. Intendending to keep it on? I have problems with it not lasting.
It’s not intended for that so it won’t stay the best but try trapping it in there with a top coat
Omg thank you I needed this
Thanks Gabby 🙂
Really appreciated this video of Do's & Don'ts!
OMG, so helpful. Thank you Gabby!
It's the Spongebob for me I love that episode 😂
Omg!!! Thank you for doing this video!! So much help!
Thank you for this video! I’m used to using regular nail polish, I started using gel more. So when I tried using tape with gel...😬 did not look cute😂 thanks again😊 I probably did almost all the don’ts🤣
Thank you so much for this video! Can't wait to try it xxx
So I've been following your advice on this, curing the first coat and removing the tape before curing the second coat, and it mostly works except there are ALWAYS a few little bits where the gel looks like it has seeped under the tape, this happens no matter how much I press down the tape or how thin I get my gel coat and I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.
She cures both coats.
I also fave the same problem and can't solve it!
Just started doing my own gel nails and this was just a great video 🙂
Daisyynnicole thank you!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!
It's simple and beautiful 😘 Thanks you!💐
Thank you for this.
This was so helpful! Thank you so much!
Not Heroes Wear Capes!!! You Literally answered my prayers of the day........Thank you Gabby!
Love from London..xx
I love your videos! Thank you! 😊😍💗
Thank you!
Great video. Thank you
Thanks very helpful
Thanks, this was really helpful
Such a helpful video, thanks!! 🥰🥰❣️
Early squad wow
Thank you! The gel polish tends to go under the tapes when I do it, and I don't know how to avoid it 🤔
Thank you for sharing... I will try
Thanks
I Found Your Video for Gel Polish stripping tape thank you
For the last method, how long should you cure for the first coat? Should it be a full cure or half?
Now I might try striping tape! Thank You
Really helpful, thank you
I never thought of using a makeup sponge. I use alcohol pads for diabetic use or I use lint free wipes from amazon. I think I payed like $4 for a 1000 or something like that.
So you do cure it and then peel the tape off
i was literally just thinking about striping tape 🤣 woe
Did you put the first color on and then cure it and use the alchol and then put the tape on?
I like this.
Eliz biz vn:
is the white base already cured and degreased?
ive just started doing gel
Thanks for the tips!!
Doesn't the tape get cured along?
Long did you cured it
❤️❤️❤️
Not all heroes wear capes 🤣
Can I use without gel polish.
What is cure? What does she mean by curing?
To cure is to put the wet gel under the uv or led lamp so it can dry.
does that work on normail nail polish and not gel. cus i down own gel :/
What about shapes... Like a heart in the center of the nail. Seems impossible for me to grasp the edges.
I'm new to gel what is a 1 step? Or whatever it was called
one step gel is gel polish that you don't need a base coat or top coat for, it has all 3 in 1!

מאד יפה 👍🇮🇱
I don’t use striping tape I actually use bandages and I cut them too many pieces and they work a lot better than striping Tape
You sound like emma stone
