The new TUSCAN by EXTREMA RATIO: is it worth the money?

- This is the new knife by EXTREMA RATIO: the TUSCAN. An innovative grinding and badass feeling. But will it perform? After the KC-01 by Lionsteel I am setting the standards very high! The review was in collaboration with Scintilla, a great family owned business where knives are their second skin. The knife was bought by myself. No financial incentive was given for the review.

I like it a lot. I have just made some videos too. The absence of a guard isn't a problem for me, I don't believe my hand will slip at all, i almost never wear gloves unless working in the snow or below -10C. Right now i use this knife in the tropics. Nice review too BTW.
I like N690 and the knife but its a mid level steel. It’s similar to VG10. VG10 is very inexpensive now. ER is just a very expensive company. I guess the owner of ER must have expensive taste.
C: 1.07; V: 0.10; Cr: 17.00-17.30;
Mo: 1.10; Co: 1.50; Mn: 0.40;
P: ?; S: ?; Si: 0.40;
Maker: Bohler-Uddeholm - Sweden (SE)
Notes:
Bohler-Uddeholm steel, recommended working hardness 58-60HRC. Similar to VG-10. Later, Aichi produced pretty much identical(with N690), ZA-18 steel, promoted to be better a performer than VG-10.
Its amazing the prices they charge. The 3v Lionsteels are way better than ER in every way . I do own 3 ER knives. I look back and say to myself what was i thinking…
I agree
Lionsteel Is a very hard competitive brand!
What were you thinking? Like everyone else, you thought their styling cues and grind lines were hella cool. So overpriced, though. I love them, but will never own a genuine one.
❤ great review.
Thank you. I appreciate it. It is not always easy to find the right balance in a review. Remembering even my limitations…. :)
Looks good to me, if i ever get one ill let ya know...
Thanks! Please let me know! I hope to have on the channel even a different point of view from a professional designer, the great Tommaso Rumici. Ciao!
Get the Skrama instead!😊
Crazy expensive crap
….nothing personal here, buddy, but I just hope this lame, crappy piece of metal was given to you for free…spending a penny of hard earned money on a senseless, overpriced, underperforming er knife is sheer foolishness….price/quality ratio being one of the lowest in the industry…. Ever heard of Trc Knives?… spend your pence wisely 😉
no offence taken :) just for info, the knife was bought with my money :)
Well….I wouldn’t go around bragging about it but…hey, your money your choice 🤷🏼♂️…you know how the saying goes…”one man’s meat 🥩 is another man’s poison ☠️ “….to me Er is poison through & through…I owned 3 in my life and had trouble with 2 of them from day one…(Sartre and Shrapnel)….they just didn’t seem willing to CUT…funny enough for tools called knives…but again, enjoy your meat 😉…I found my meat in Lithuania (TRC KNIVES), just a different game compared to ER (…and prices range from 250 to 500…yes, definitely not cheap but world class quality is there….not empty marketing as applied to our Tuscany friends creations).
TRC, like ER, is expensive, you are right about that, but TRC makes fantastic knives and they perform very well. They are in no way "underperforming" nor do they have a low price to quality ratio as you seem to indicate. Expensive? Yes! But they are some of the best quality knives out there. They have some real attention to detail in their designs making them perform fantastic.
I've never owned an ER so cannot comment from experience there, but from all the reviews I've seen, I'm thinking TRC is on another level.
@@topfueljunkie100 yes. TRC is definitely making amazing knives.
