The aloe, witch Hazel and coconut oil are the best tear stain remover I’ve ever used!! My girls were getting bad. I’ve used this a handful of times and they are almost gone!!! Thank you for sharing your secrets for free!!! I appreciate it so much!! I’m able to care for my animal better!!! I appreciate you so much!!!
My 11 yo dog had tear stains most of his life. He always had a sensitive stomach but finally got a bout of pancreatitis, and we put him on pancreatic enzymes (from watching your channel) and not only did it solve the pancreatitis but it ended the tear staining. Completely.
I add a capful of organic apple cider vinegar with mother to their water bowl, which is about 4 cups. I cleaned my dog's eyes daily when they were really bad, now only about once every week or two. Doesn't happen overnight, but they don't have any issues anymore.
Thank you so much, Doctor. It is really great that you mentioned the type of water we give to our dogs because afterall, water is the BIG one when it comes to the good health and wellbeing of our beloved pets, as well as our own. We prefer to give our dogs oxygenated distilled water to drink but we only have two water distillers running on our off grid set up. If there is no available distilled water in the drinking section of our store, they usually also stock reverse osmosis as well, so we grab those instead. Since seeing your tip on adding ginger to the water, I now do this religiously. Thank you, once again, from the whole family!
My 15 year old Maltipoo used to get that stain badly. I did use Angel Eyes, the original formula, for 2 weeks, and it cleared it up. After that, I started wiping her eyes every night with a warm washcloth. I never reuse the washcloth, and it has done a great job keeping her eyes clean. No.more eye boogers.
My dog gets hard clumps in that area. Can you please explain why and what I can do to prevent it? Thank you bunches for all the information you freely provide ❤
Great ideas. I have a cavoodle. I thought her tears were grass allergy related. It never occurred to me that it could be her diet. 🤦 I will definitely try adding some probiotic.
My samoyed-retriever dog has no eye issues, but when I feed my 3 eskimos any dairy product their eyes immediately start to ooze and tear up. It's a constant battle trying to keep the stains away!
From my observation often eye staining is the sign of yeast overgrowth in the body so unless that is resolved it's difficult to get rid of. Wiping it is only cosmetic. I used colloidal silver and hexane free castor oil for the eyes. Yeast problem is way more difficult and to start everybody should cut kibble from their pet's diet and watch carb intake not to promote the fungus growth. In addition dry food has very little nutritional value so it doesn't help in this case neither
I have found a stray dog and took her for care she is about 12 years old she is part poodle and terrier she is all black I found out she has pancreatitis and she is starting to get weaker and. My question is what can I give her to get her weight up she eats up a storm but only weight 11lbs. I don't think that is a good weight but my vet isn't worried. What do you think about the weakness?
Me too, switched to raw food, no kibble.. I understood the food dyes in kibble and treats, helped cause the stains .. my dog is white, and there are no tear stains.
Off the subject...... I just wanted to ask what you suggest for lots of small bumps that just showed up last night on the top of the head & neck of our shih-tzu mix, they are red but don't seem to be bothering him at all. He does get seasonal itching this time of year on his feet & legs but never any bumps.
I JUST watched a video about this with the same doctor!! My dog is dealing with the same thing, cysts / fatty tissue/ bumps - he’s a Maltipoo. Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/DHLGWbMIap8/видео.html
Hello Dr Jones, thank you for your tips! I have a black and white Cocker Spaniel and not only does he have the tear stains on the white side of his face but also on his white paws due to occasional licking. So, can I apply those tear stain remover solutions to the paws as well??? I know that the dog my lick it, so what am I to do? Any suggestion for me? Thank you from Canada!
Thanks for this video. I have a long haired cat that also has this problem. Is your cleaning solution safe for cats, too? I know many things that can be safely used on dogs will harm cats, so I'd rather check first than be sorry later. Edit: Just a piece of advice for others. My cat is pretty good about letting me clean her eye area, but her skin gets irritated with being wet all the time from both the tears and the cleaning. So, after I clean I just take a clean tissue and dab the area dry. It makes her soooo much happier.
Bred & showed Maltese for years been retired a few years now. Tomatos (crushed) mixed in food helps too, but commercial product is best. Havent named it as it may not still be available.
What about stains around their mouth and paws? I think my dog is staining around his mouth and paw due to licking. Do you have any suggestions to stop licking paws and removing brown stains?
This video is interesting to me because I make various types of metal colloids, and one lady with a white Bichon has me make ionic silver for her to use in cleaning her dog's eyes and removing tear stains. Ionic silver is the colorless kind of colloidal silver that looks like water, and she says it works better than anything else she's ever used. Ionic silver also is also a safe antibacterial and antiviral eye drop, so you don't have to worry about avoiding the eye itself. If you've never used colloidal silver, might be worth a try.
There USED TO BE SOMETHING I GAVE ORALLY TO MY CHIHUAHUA THAT AMELIORATED THIS SIGNIFICANTLY!!!! I can’t remember!!!!!!! But it worked!!! Does anyone else REMEMBER?????

Thank you to Pipi for helping to show how dad takes care of your tear stains and how we can deal with them in a safe effective way❤❤❤
I switched my dogs from tap water to bottled or filtered water. No more dark eye discharge.

I'm not familiar with Angel Eyes. Where did you buy it ? My little dog has long hair and always has eye boogers stuck in it.
I add a cap full of ACV (with the Mother) to my dogs drinking water, it’s great for keeping flees away, they never scratch now.

My puppy has 1 blocked eye duct can l get this unblocked by a vet that specialises in eye surgery or do you think it’s not a good idea

Finally! Someone who gets it! This is clearly systemic, as well as topical.

Dr. Jones, is a metal-lined water bowl a likely source of extra iron? Better safe than sorry to romove it, I guess.

Probably Tylan? It's an antibiotic and they shouldn't be on it for tear stains. They can become antibiotic resistant.

Any tips on making my dog drink more water?

I would never put my dog down just because your vet wants to remove the eye and you can't afford it. Go to another vet!!
