What is Roblox? Roblox is an online virtual playground and workshop, where kids of all ages can safely interact, create, have fun, and learn. It’s unique in that practically everything on Roblox is designed and constructed by members of the community. Roblox is designed for people of all ages. Each player starts by choosing an avatar and giving it an identity. They can then explore Roblox - interacting with others by chatting, playing games, or collaborating on creative projects. Each player is also given their own piece of undeveloped real estate along with a virtual toolbox with which to design and build anything - be it a navigable skyscraper, a working helicopter, a giant pinball machine, a multiplayer “Capture the Flag” game or some other, yet-to-be-dreamed-up creation. There is no cost for this first plot of virtual land. By participating and by building cool stuff, Roblox members can earn specialty badges as well as Roblox dollars (“Robux”). In turn, they can shop the online catalog to purchase avatar clothing and accessories as well as premium building materials, interactive components, and working mechanisms.

I actually enjoyed free UGC (to some degree), but i guess everything ends someday.

Its been like that the moment that they started taking 70% of profits from game creators (years ago)
Sorry, with this new update roblox will be taking 70% on the fee to buy limited ugc PLUS 40% of any item resold (totallly not money hungry behavior)
They have to feed their investors sadly 😔
They became money-hungrier when they removed tix so that nobody could get robux for free anymore or buy items with tix
Imagine someone sacrificed 50 million robux for free ugc for everyone

Tsb dropped 40M robux but if they do that free ugc event now instead of 40M they will have to use 500M robux for 2M copys

Return on investment is now trash for content creators. I guess that's what happens when your stock is owned by assets and investment management companies. They want to see profit over anything else. Time will tell I guess if enough developers and content creators voice their opinions loud and clear. Interesting update for sure.

Considering a lot of games like to do a stock of 3k to 7.5k... that's up to 750k Robux for a limited run...that's like $6,000 just to run a free limited....
