I’ve noticed they haven’t been showing what everyone’s been throwing like they were before. Wonder why. I really enjoyed that aspect of the coverage and I keep looking in the corner for it.
@@caseythefever1 Can you imagine that on your resume? "I cataloged the frisbee each guy threw in a [for now] niche sport full time for the largest media company in the space"
I imagine it’s just an editing time thing. These videos have been getting out at 8 AM CST, where as some of their others which had more editing weren’t getting out until close to noon.
32:58 - Jerm means the top 8 seeds will join the 4 qualifiers, of R2/QF, for the 12 man R3/SF match. Tour Championship is a very interesting 4 round format. R1 is almost a 16 man wild-card type qualifier. R2 and R3 are 12 man brackets each, w/ their respective byes. R3/SF being extremely brutal in that it whittles the final 12 down to 4 for R4/GF.
@@brett8770 16, 12, 12, & 4 are the amount of competitors for rounds: 1, 2, 3, & 4 respectively. Would prolly be a little more interesting/exciting if the finals had 8, instead of 4. Someone else pointed out (over on GK's coverage of the FPO) that the pay structure would be better if there was a "sliding scale" instead of the static payouts for each round. Once a player knows they haven't qualified there is little incentive to keep pushing. It's hard for the players and it's hard to watch.
I really like when they show the whole flight from behind camera, feels more like I'm there. You should show 1 of every 4 shot totally from behind, rest with catch cam. Helps us to get better perspective of the shot
@@marcusdresback I mean, didn't he throw his Buzzz at Fountain Hill on 18 over the water like 480 feet or something? I remember some crazy drive with it over the water earlier in the season
@@BaysingersDiscGolfChannel absolutely, but most courses he isn’t throwing the buzz off the tee for 70% of his shots. He can shape it with a couple different molds of that thing anyway possible it seems like..it’s also got a lot to do with the putt. He’s never been known as one of the best putters around.
For the back 9 of this tournament, could you have a top of the leaderboard check in after each hole to show where everyone is instead of Jerm and Uli guessing?
Poor Jerm, always with the goofy dad humor that Paul, and everyone else for that matter, gives him crickets for...lol. Meanwhile, being a dad of 6 and corny myself, I love it! 🤓😆 Keep it up Jerm...stay the dad-joke course!!
Shoutout to Gannon Buhr though. That kid is special. People always say kyle klein is the future and rightfully so, but this kid is like 5 years younger and on that level already. Win or lose, all these big spots are such good learning experiences.
To be fair though, this sport is just oozing with young talent, Kyle Klein, Gannon Buhr, Gavin Rathbun, Raven Newsom, Connor O'reilly, Cole Redalen. The list goes on, and lets not forget, guys like McMahon, Heimburg, Hammes, and Marwede, are all in their early 20s. The amount of time between big time dominating players is shrinking. What I mean by that is, if you look back, start with say Dave Feldberg, then its what like 15 years until Ken Climo? Then 8 or so to McBeth, and Wysocki. Then roughly 4 to McMahon, and Heimburg. Now there's new killers every year, with those I listed above.
@@barrymak421 I agree, the sport is looking good. Ricky isn't 30 yet and Paul is only 31. They both still probably have 10 years minimum of high level play.
@@danday9697 oh yeah for sure 10 years. McBeth's mechanics are so good, he could be viable in the MPO even pushing 50. Rick throws a bit harder so I could see him needing to stop a bit earlier, but you are absolutely correct. When people say we are in the golden age of disc golf I completely agree.
@@barrymak421 agree. His mechanics are smooth and does have as much torque as some players, which will help in the long run. I agree, the MPO is in a great place right now for sure. Climo is a legend, but I don't think he's a top 25 player in today's world. Maybe not top 50.
So, drinking game. Everytime Jerm says: "Are you kidding me?" Everytime Uli downplays himself. Everytime Jerm says: "That is the farthest drive you will ever see on this hole." Everytime there is silence after Jerm has spoken and you think Uli is holding back a laugh.
Joel seems like the easiest person to tilt. Couple of well timed words from any of the other competitors and you wouldn't have to worry about him for the rest of the match
Big Jerm jokes about the speeding ticket, but I do think there is some valuing in still playing for 5th. If god forbid something should happen to one of the players whether it be some arm injury or random illness I imagine that the next in line player would get to continue, no?
In a sea of perfection.. my only note is, when Jerm or Uli reference what the player is saying after a shot as if we can also hear it.. idk why they are given the audio and we aren’t.. solution: either put it in the final cut or ask commentator to quote the player for us when it’s relevant.
My guess is that they have louder field audio when they're recording the commentary, and when jomez makes the final cut they have to bring the field audio down to make sure uli and jerm are clear.
I've had the same observation for years, and again in this round, so I'm glad you said something. I'd like to hear more of the natural sound throughout, in general. I know it's not easy to keep adjusting the audio so it doesn't clip, but it makes the difference between us as viewers feeling like we are there on the course with the players, versus in the commentary booth with Jerm and Uli. Right now it's the latter.
If Gibson had more of a clutch putt like paul mcbeth or Dickerson he would be unstoppable. Dickerson is a legend. Also if he had a little more control on his power, he has so much power so he over throws the holes more then he would want.
Can't they tier the payout by ranking instead of a flat $3000 so people still have something to play for? It gets hard to watch when there's no motivation to play well. Hard for the players, too.
18m11s Uli dont ever say there going to make it b4 they throw I swear it's like watching you nice someone he didnt mean that but I cringe everytime he does it

This is my favorite tournament of the year to watch by far. It would be USDGC but….. I’ll leave it at that
Yeah, we'll all just leave it at that...😒👎
Not a fan of the Winthrop course. Give me woods DG any day. Ropes and mozzarella sticks are too contrived. Natural OB is better.
I really like this format for the coverage. Entirely new card each round, until the final round.
Always nice to get some jomez in before a nice Saturday round.
Drew barely missed about 4-5 putts by a total of 2 inches. Could have been a ridiculous rnd
Joel Freemans approach shot on 11 was so good!
I'm glad you guys are better. You don't sound like you have a cold ❤️
The best mini flex from Drew on 15. So solid backhand daddy!
Drew Gibson should really only ever throw that Buzz. He's a surgeon with it!
He is a magician with the Buzz
Thank you team Jomez. 🙏

I get excited anticipating Matty O on jomez.
I don't think he will be unless he makes the final.

I guess because scores on hole 2 through 10 was spoiled already on hole 1 due to error in graphics
Was it Jerm or Uli that took a big bong rip and coughed at @12:18?
