Great video Caan, I've tried and better tried to get people close to me into sports trading but they will insist on sticking with their bookies accas, easier, I suppose. I'll definitely share this video with them, at least they may get a longer run for their money and, who knows, maybe even mend their ways.
Interesting video again Caan. Thanks for the great advice on cashing out. I am trying to get my head around why the reduction in odds for one selection losing is such a bad thing in your example.
Because you get paid less? Have I misunderstood your question? If something is valued at 2.2 and you get offered 2.0, that's a big % difference that means over the long-term you have no hope really.
It was an example, take a look and compare the prices. The exchange is always bigger. An evens shot the exchange price would have been around 2.1-2.2. It vaires, but the bigger the price the bigger the gap, generally speaking. You might see for exaple an 8.0 shot on the sportsbook is probably about 13.0 on the exchange. Its how bookies make so much money.
@@CaanBerryProTrader That makes sense that the exchange is sometimes a bigger price after commission. I think I misunderstood the video. I thought you were suggesting that taking the 5.0 with cashback if one loses is worse value than taking the 8.0 with no cashback. Thanks for clearing that up and thanks for all the videos. Great stuff.
Thanks, check out the channel page there's a whole playlist of useful stuff regarding strategy, advantage play and sports trading. Few bits about accumulators and other stuff too.
@@CaanBerryProTrader can i ask something in general; to do bets like the extra places etc, if i am going to try these in high street shops do you not need one of their stupid account cards like ladbrokes have? Are these kind of bets restricted to these card holders? Thanks again Caan.
Thanks for the video, very informative. Can i ask what your opinion on Sorare is? Because i saw you were spot on about Football Index and told the truth even a lot didn't like it. I admit i was tempted by it but after watching your videos on them i decided it wasn't worth the risk. Is Sorare just another Football Index or is it legit, i can probably guess the answer but it'd be interesting to hear an experts view.
Have a look on the channel page and search it, theres a video, I asked them questions direct - the answers were not good. Although I should say its not the same structure as football index. Still, I wouldnt touch it myself.
I used to be a manager at William Hill years ago now so i do not know if they even still do this daily multi lotto draw with numbers 1-12 where you could bet on it like a horse race with winner place or tricast. Anyway i found a bet that gave you 2/3 odds against the bookies by doing a 9 number combination tricast which pays 1000-1 meaning 20 times out of 30 you would beat the bookie. This bet has over 500 combinations but it is almost a double your money bet with the odds in your favour.
Using Leicester as an example for not cashing out is ludicrous. Any Leicester fan putting a bet on them at the start of the season would have done so out of blind loyalty and would have assumed it a loser even before placing it. Anybody placing a tenner at 5000/1, who was offered say £20000 at a reasonably early stage of the season was always likely to take it. The average punter would always do that regardless of the implied odds. What man in the street is going to turn down £20,000 for a tenner. It's like someone offering you 2/1 about calling a coin toss correctly. The odds are great, but how many people would risk their savings on a SINGLE toss.
Caan I've been gambling 60years and one thing I've learned over the years never bet on football. Bookies are not bookmakers any more there filling your head with short price bets .internet gambling. Machines. What I call cardboard racing virt/racing. One thing bookies don't like 1. the single bet .2. 1/4 odds a place .3. greyhound racing is the best bet in all gambling bets .6 runners 1/4 the odds. I work in betting shops and try putting 100 or 1000 on a single bet on even the net and it's sorry say this word the answer is F/ off. I gamble last week £ 50 on dogs .winnings £1050. Next week another city because I'm band if I go near every shop I've hit. Lastly why has bookies moved all the head offices abroad tax . Africa. America .Malta.
Good Advice. Regarding those Leicester punters tho - who were definitely mugged off but that was a *very* extreme one-off example and in actuality, they probably wouldn't have even had the cash available to lay Leicester on the exchanges to hedge their bet (£1 @ 5000/1, with Leicester into Evens, would have required £2500 to lay to take g'teed £2.5K)
Caan,, always love your videos and found myself nodding as you pointed out the Acca Edge here being bad value. Until I did the maths. If I wanted to construct my own "insurance" for the three-leg treble you use for illustration, I could place three x £2.50 Doubles on the three selections. Each alone would return £10 as would the Acca Edge. So that's my Return if only two legs come in. But what about the Treble? I then place a £2.50 Treble on the picks. If this comes in, I get £20 Return from the Treble, and 3 x £10 from each Double, giving a Total Return of £50 , exactly as returned by the Acca Edge! The problem here is not the Acca Edge "insurance", but the inferior odds to begin with..

Or use their cash out and never have 20k?
