I’m new to cables. Thank for explaining that in the round the stitches on the row need to be repeated until you get back to your starting stitch marker. None of the other videos pointed that out!

how do you know what patterns will work for your hats. do you simply count the stitches and compare them with the number of cast on stitches in your hat?

I have a fair Isle chart, to be knit in the round. But the first row is shown on the right hand top the numbers read from top to bottom on the right side. And then at the top and bottom of the chart the numbers read from right to left. Can you explain how do I read this chart.
How do you knit pattern repeats on a stranded colorwork chart that does not show a red box? I am working on a pattern that has a 6 stitch repeat with seven rounds but there is no redbox that shows the repeat .I don't understand what that means. Any help would be appreciated

Ahlem Hireche Check on your internet browser. There is an explanation there. You do not work that particular stitch on a “no stitch” row, because it no longer exists.
Question, what if I end the round to my marker and the round I was knitting is not finished all the way? Can I still start the next row/round or do I finish the whole row first
Karen Condon No, you would not. I would assume you didn’t have the correct number of stitches for the pattern. Each row would be completed. Then the next row would start.

Veola Sutherland I would think you would knit the pattern the way you knit - in reverse. If you start knitting from left to right, you would read the pattern from left to right. Many color work patterns are symmetrical, so it wouldn’t matter much. Otherwise, for non-symmetrical patterns, I would make a transparency of the pattern and flip it to read it correctly for you. Your work will be reversed, but unless there are words, that wouldn’t matter.
