Whats weird is I have none of the problems this guy was talking about. With the mylink, seats, hood opening etc. lol. Another thing with the driver seat, it has fully adjustable power options and you can adjust it just about every way to make it more comfortable for you.
No way to ajust lumbar it def has bad uncomfortable seats and yes the radio can spaz but doesn't break the windows and view are aggressive that's what I like
I just bought this car with the leather seats - with lumbar. Very comfortable. I went from an 8 cylinder truck to this and I'm pleased with the acceleration. The LT with leather and upgrades is beautiful inside. Cream leather with chocolate piping on the seats and headrests. Too many options to list including collision avoidance and lane change warning. I'm really enjoying it.
Word of advice... please stop saying UMMMM, UMMMM, UMMMM..... you should practice what you want to say and make sure the word UMMMM is not being used because it takes away from your presentation.
I got one of these beauties a few months back brand new, it is the most amazing sedan I've ever sat in, I don't have back problems in this vehicle, but I could see where it would be an issue, it's great on gas, and luxurious. I got it for around $29,000 so it wasn't bad at all.
The review was good as they are today but I’m glad your style has matured because that fedora and peacoat combo isn’t cutting it. Otherwise, it’s the same Matt that we’ve grown to know and trust with our car news and reviews 👍🏾
My 2013 Malibu Eco has 17,567 miles on it and never had a problem. Travel 1,000 miles every day that's why it has a high milage already. Great car and I really recommend it and the seats are comfortable to me can't see why u say there not comfortable.
This car single-handedly turned me on to the idea of driving a sedan after having one for a rental for 3 days. It was a 2LT with 18"s, rearview camera, and a nice bit of torque around 3500-4500 rpm. For a 4 cylinder to have nearly 200lb-ft of torque is an eye opener to me. The only complaint I had with it was the odd steering weight. I don't know when Chevy started doing that, but it just felt strange to me. Though I haven't had that problem with the radio changing sources on me.
my 2014 Malibu LS with base cloth seats is super comfortable. I drove it from Lincoln Nebraska to the twin ports (Duluth/Superior) and it was great. Got 35mpg the whole way too.
I like the seats on it pretty much. I drove for 5 hours from Elizabeth City to Charlotte at night, the seats were pretty good on me I should say. I am 5 ft 10, and 160 lbs. I tried the Fusion, and Camry, but I liked the Malibu better. Overall a very bad reviewer of cars I would say. He says the car is unnecessarily big? Really? What did you expect, man? I love big sedans.
The review was good as they are today but I’m glad your style has matured because the fedora and peacoat isn’t cutting it. Otherwise same Matt we’ve grown to know and trust with our car news 👍🏾
Dude. This car looks a reborn Pontiac car. The Front, the back red lights, everything seems like a reborn Pontiac, even the shape and the steering wheel. Man, I'd like to buy this Malibu, looks like Pontiac and I like that.
You did an awesome job on this review, I really liked it, and it was definitely an improvement. I really like your style of reviewing, and how you pointed out a lot of details that are important in every day ownership of the car but not evident in other reviews. I would definitely encourage you to make more reviews, you do a great job.
I just bought a 2013 Malibu after owning a 2010...couldnt be happier with the purchase. Dont think having a name and loving a Subaru can make an honest unbiased remark...thanks for the review....stick to your Subarus thanks!
I just sold my chinese Malibu after 3 years of absolutely problem free ownership and i am probably going to get another one, since there is no other car able to offer the so much comfort at a similar price. In China the most popular engine is a 2.0 L with 150 hp, more than enough for a daily driver in our traffic (average in 3 years 25 km/h!) Chinese cars seem to be built better than the US version and most options are already included.
My parents have the previous generation 08 malibu with over 270k KM's (roughly 168k miles) on it, still runs very great for the amount of kilometers on it. I hope this generation lives up to that reliability, i am already convinced its a good quality car, because of all the good stuff i hear about the 08-12 model year. Plus the car does look really nice :)
I like your review. You don't focus on performance. If its a passenger car you don't show how much horse power it has. You show how comfy it is and how it feels to drive it for long periods of time. Other people seem to graze over those facts and focus on handling and other performance aspects. Hope you get recognized by someone.
Hey buddy good job !! what jeans are u wearing? 511's 514's ? You gave us the little details that other reviewers never give us, like the important daily driver stuff. Looking forward to more.
For subaruwrxfan to have negative comments about a car means this Malibu must be REALLY bad. Things like the hood popping open and the erratic infotainment system show that GM still is not sweating out the details of design and engineering the way they should be. Maybe it's time to hire some top people from competitors to reinvigorate the company.
This guy Is an idiot. None of the things he complained about are issues that actually exist. Also it has 8 way adjustable seats with lumbar so for him to say they are flat, is due to his failure to adjust them. The hood popping up can be fixed by properly closing it etc. Guy compared the Malibu to a Lambo. What a tool.
I give props on GM that this Malibu has balls, midsize sedan natural aspired engine with 197 HP is a beast, and also very quiet inside of it. The Camry SE is very comfortable but it doesnt have the power as the Malibu does. When I travel i travel far and like to be comfortable, I would Choose a Camry SE for that, power wise I would choose a Malibu, looks and fun to drive Id go for the Accord Sport. but all 3 are great cars.
Great review Matt! Really enjoyed watching it. About the steering wheel, it is the same as the newest generation Opels. And yes, it's not meant for sporty driving, so the 9&3 hand position really does not work. I like that you added a few more exterior shots, compared to the Forester review. Also, how can they be allowed to sell a car whose hood randomly pops open? Imagine that at high speeds and the bonnet flipping over your windshield...man, that is a real safety hazard. Keep them coming! :)
I have My turbo 2LTZ never had any problems like you have had. There are many ways to change the source . You should read the owners Manuel for the info on the nav/ radio.
Well visibility is gonna be horrible if you have your seat low, and you’re a short person so smog course it’s gonna be hard to see, when I drove my brothers Malibu, it was smooth and steering was very very direct and it WAS NOT numb at all! Felt very good! And visibility for me was perfect! And I could see better out of the car than what I can in my 2011 Impala!
I drive a 2011 Malibu I love the car awesome on gas, the seats are comfy, it rides great, and is very roomy. My only complaint about the Malibu is the thick pillars and I mean all 3. With time you get used it but you just have to turn your head more then you normally should. Are the pillars as thick in the current Malibu?
I have one of these car personally I love it and it's comfortable I love it and I don't have any problems with the chairs or the blue tooth I love this car!
My brother has a Malibu too, it had the Bluetooth problem to where it wouldn’t play anything at all. But then when he took it in to the shop to get the brakes done, the Bluetooth started working! But his car was used. After a while we seen that this car had been in an accident before so I think the reason why the Bluetooth never wanted to work was because there was something going wrong in the sensors where the tires are. And after they fixed the whole brake and rotors it worked perfectly fine. But that album art did have that one problem. But my brother had music download into his phone. And he would always have his 5s connected through the wire. So it was fine all the time, and the car was luxurious to me. But then my brother ended up crashing it so it’s all broken now. But it could still turn on and stuff if it had a battery. But the key is stuck in the ignition. And the glass is broken. He regrets treating his car like if it was a piece of shit because he has no car now and he has to get rides now... and he misses how beautiful it was and how comfortable it rides
I have one and its an amazing car I don't have any of these issues hes talking about. I would agree with the visibility of seeing out the back window, but I have the rear view camera so its not that much an issue.
No, not a lemon, im renting one for a few days, Ive got the same issues, extremely poor execution on the audio unit in general. Pretty poor mileage for a 4 cyl...avg 22.8. Decent power, felt like a 6. Comfortable car for short distances. Loved the Charger I rented a few months ago.
Also wanted to say that your assessment of the car seems to be typical GM of late, while they used to be awful, now they're good but just short of what they could be. Like you said, if they had just spent a little more time they could have ironed out those issues. The new Accord, Fusion, and Altima are the segment leaders now, and GM has to try a lot harder to compete with those really good cars.
I have a rental for about a week. Yes the visibility is so poor ... coffin-like ... might say "sarcophageal." Have to park in different, weird places when there are little kids nearby to avoid ANY use of reverse. Absolute deal breaker right there. But on top of that, and I can't believe this ... the front cup holders are so high up, that if you rest your arm on the "arm rest" your arm will be stained by whatever might be sitting on top of your drink. Lord help you if you want to auto shift this thing while having a drink. Nope. It's got to be one or the other. Or your arm will be forever dangling above your drink, like you're wrapping your arm around an imaginary best friend.
all these complaints, are new models problems, it's rare that a car company actually get's something right the first time. Watch even the BRZ will have some problems that will show up. I don't think there's been one brand, that hasn't seen something, past present or future.
The seats are comfortable, the steering wheel is extremely ergonomic, and I've never heard of the radio issue. The hood, well I dunno, maybe you never closed it properly.

All the issues you are mentioning sound like typical GM 'goodies'. Unfortunately for them it's probably not a lemon. I recently had the displeasure of being stuck with a rental Cruze and found a lot of little things about the car just confusing. Unless I'm just spoiled by my current WRX and previous Honda's.

the hood doesn't pop up on its own. you obviously don't latch it down all the way. With all the stuff going wrong its either USER ERROR, or you just don't have the melons to walk into the dealership and get the shit fixed. thats what the 100000 mile warrantees are for.
A fedora AND a pea-coat? come on man

That shit made me laugh. 😂
4:30 AM and I just lost my shit when I read this comment
OMFG LOL 😂

@@colbyswanson9925my seats all tore and it’s not like I’ve got kids. It’s just me and my 2013 has been horrible very costly repairs

The leather seats are very comfortable . I just bought one with leather .
I bought the Holden Malibu CDX. Im 5'11 260 lbs . Seats are great, has lumber support though.
Rented this car for a week and fell in love. Buying it soon.

i drove a 2014 model recently it was very comfortable and i drove it for 5 hours straight didnt get out once.
The review was good as they are today but I’m glad your style has matured because that fedora and peacoat combo isn’t cutting it. Otherwise, it’s the same Matt that we’ve grown to know and trust with our car news and reviews 👍🏾
😂
I have no problems with my car! it's awesome the seats are comfy and actually on the side of the seat there is a back adjust button.
Any problems with the transmission?
Throughout my binge watching of all reviews and weekly updates the hat ones have always caught me off-guard. This hat (and review) is everything.
Haha man you're the real MVP for bingeing these. Maybe someday I'll be able to pull off a hat lol.
You shouldn't be allowed to give a vehicle review if your still on your learners permit.

Great review and video!
A fedora AND a pea-coat? Come on man. Lol 😂
Good video, Matt!
As a nissan/subaru guy , I thank you for a detailed review of the car my GF just told me she's bringing home.

"Yeah, other than those complaints.... yeah I wouldn't recommend this car"
Watching this in 2017 because i love my 2013 chevy malibu ltz thats my first born

Okay, now THIS is the very first "official" suburuwrxfan/Matt Maran review.. The give away: "What's up everybody?!" Lol (Just a tad over 7 years ago!)
that fedora gave you some attitude lol. Roasting that Malibu and all the R&D people....Lawdy.
Go back to your subaru or grow some more
Nice review vid.I wish you would do a review on the 2014 Chevy Malibu 2.0 turbo
Thanks for keeping it real. You should review an Accord -- I'd like your opinion on that.
Also wanted to say that your assessment of the car seems to be typical GM of late, while they used to be awful, now they're good but just short of what they could be. I think it’s just the car you have because my brother didn’t have that problem with the hood
nice review I hope you continue to do these reviews on every car you can get yours hands on, oh and i like the pimp hat :)
I drove from Pennsylvania to California in a 09 impala that was torture.
the guy is doing a good job. the car just isnt so great , and he is young , no crime there. good luck to him. (signed old man)
I am sure that he doesn't know the steeling wheel is adjustable
Nigga complained the whole video
The seats in my car are just fine 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
My favorite part is the fedora. Lol I’m glad Matt doesn’t wear that now.
Can you make a 2010 equinox 4cyl video. Thank you.
The dash is on point 100 the light colors can be changed too blue aqua purple
I can't complain about the window size in this, cause I drove a 2002 mustang for 3 years and the small ass windows in the back of that was ridiculous.
How do you know the visibility of the Fusion if you haven't driven one?
Great video man , keep up the good work !
That's a fair critic because he is killing 'umm' like it was a product placement.
not a word about ride/handling over poor roads?
all these complaints, are new models problems, it's rare that a car company actually get's something right the first time.
Dude I think you got a defected model or something
Constructive feedback: change the channel name and don't mention your own car. This makes your reviews seem even more biased. As well, you covered the main points, but edit your final product so the comments don't get too repetitive.
Your first review. How old were you here?😄
The malibu is awesome!
I like this review
Review the SS :)
The Malibu is not a boat, try actually driving the Impala and see if it’s the same thing. Drive the 2011 and compare it to the Malibu. Then start talking. Because I’ve driving both cars, and it’s nothing like the Impala. The Impala is way bigger compared to the Malibu
I was thinking the same thing lol. Or maybe readjust his mirrors.
All the issues you are mentioning sound like typical GM 'goodies'. Unfortunately for them it's probably not a lemon. I recently had the displeasure of being stuck with a rental Cruze and found a lot of little things about the car just confusing. Unless I'm just spoiled by my current WRX and previous Honda's.
most parts are all parts are stamped made in germany.
i have a 0-100 MPH you tube video up now, of the 2LTZ malibu turbo 2013
this car stock puts out 20psi from the turbo. and can be remapped to handle 30 psi and 300 HP 300TQ look at GMs build list of this engine its crazy fuel pressure never seen before for a gas engine milled and parts and materials that the new Corvette's used in there build.
Do an acceleration piece showing 0-60 and you will have a perfect review...
how much you think this coast now that its 2019?
How do you get them to lend you the car for so long?
Try the new 2014 or 2015 Chevy Malibu LTZ it's much better
2024 comment here and I see a bunch of high mileage Malibus and not many fusions
the door lock somehow bothers me but still a cool car
nice review agent
This review was somewhat biased. Good information, but how can you recommended a Ford Fusion over this when you never drove one. Biased! Nevertheless, thanks for all of the pros and cons.
I always thought of the Malibu as a good car to rent, but never to buy...

Honestly good review, but you need to be more sure of what you saying. and show more of the car.
the hood doesn't pop up on its own. you obviously don't latch it down all the way. With all the stuff going wrong its either USER ERROR, or you just don't have the melons to walk into the dealership and get the shit fixed. thats what the 100000 mile warrantees are for.
