Last year we wanted to replace DG with Arnold all year long… seriously we’re ready to move on? What are we going to do when Hawkins struggles go to Casey Thompson??? I know we were spoiled with Baker, Kyler, and Jalen but all 3 of those guys were benched at their schools before they transferred to OU! Technically I think Baker got hurt and lost the job but come on Sooner fans give these kids a break! It would be different if the oline blocked at all, I think they’ve got to be one of the worst in college football or close! There is no competition. Hawkins is the guy. Makes quicker reads, is faster and doesn't turn the ball over. This game was the evaluation and Hawkins is better.
read the defense really well and took care of the ball and made money throws for first downs to keep drives alive, gotta go with him and see this puppy run

But Heupel did rely on his defense for some of the offensive play calls. Pumping the brakes a little in the second half. Best challenge we have seen for sure. Playing field was terrible, seemed wet. With how our OL is performing right now, if we keep Hawkins as the starter, instead of running ball to set up the pass, we need to pass the ball, get them to sit back a little more expecting the pass, to open up the run a little more.

Hawkins is only going to be good until the defenses of the SEC start keying in on his game. They don’t have to worry about the run or the pass, they’ll contain him and crush him. I love my Sooners but no quarterback can succeed with that O line, don’t care who it is.

Good front 7 and good fans. However that field was complete garbage and completely unacceptable for an SEC field. That was like high school crap out there. Fix it or the league office will be sending fines very soon. Oklahoma should be ashamed of the field crew.

It was stupid to not go for two even after the penalty. 2pts makes it 11. Kicking the PAT made no difference if made or missed as you still needed two TD’s regardless. That was stupid on OU’s part.
As a UT fan I thought it was a huge mistake to bench the QB in the 2nd qtr for the freshman against our defense. You destroyed any confidence Arnold had and put the freshman in a horrible position. At least give Arnold 1-2 possessions after halftime to see if he settled down during the half. Going to the freshman allowed us to play conservative on Offense as long we were still up two scores.

I think josh heupal started playing conservative was because are defense was more of a threat scoring than our offense lol he ran the rock killed the clock and made us try to score and it wasn't happening
