God, this guy is unique, funny and interesting.
I never really liked Talking Heads videos because a lot of the ideas and body movements of David I thought were quite strange. I've seen a few interviews and tv appearances of David recently and he grows on you.
He's extremely creative, down to earth and and a great type of humour.

what the world really needs is the remastered film cast recording of the songs. Papa Legba is devastating

A few years ago Criterion did a blu-ray release and it came with the complete soundtrack on a second disc remastered by Jerry Harrison.

Longtime Talking Heads fan who always respected DB as an artist but found him suspect as a human being. Reading the Chris Franz memoir “Remain in Love” reinforced this opinion as DB did some despicable things over the years to others. Now looking back it seems obvious DB is “on the spectrum.” Note here how much he struggles to make eye contact - he must have m been instructed to do so and is trying. Also his laughter is very forced and rehearsed. He knows he should laugh and smile so he does so much like an actor which he clearly is to some degree. Still his artistic depth and output is undeniable. Many a struggling wannabe artist would probably give up their humanity to have a modicum of his talent and success (of course there is a term for that). DB is certainly not the first great artist to struggle with forming human bonds or connections. Apparently he’s made some notable strides in this area. Though he still has a long way to go.

All that, but also DL is a terrible interviewer. Can be abrasive and forceful, and it works for strong personalities but it seems to take him a while to adapt and soften to awkward guests.

I think it’s all the more remarkable in what he’s achieved despite being an aspie. I heard him talk in an other interview how he regrets some of his past behaviour but in many respects, being a fellow sufferer, we don’t always realise the impact we may be having on other people. I also think, like me, we’re learning all this stuff as we go along and trying to find ways to make things work and connect. This is not to excuse him or me but we both are being influenced by something very often beyond our control and understanding.

Brian I agree with your comments on DL as an interviewer, completely. To the originator of the post above, and although I have never read the book quoted, I would remind any negative detractor about DB, that this video is from 1986, like almost 40 years ago! David Byrne ( IMO) has obviously grown, progressed, and matured since those crazy 70's/80's days, no!?!?!? The Man was very affected by his born labeled neuro divergence in his early years of youth. DB and his artistic creativity, existing in many forms of expression, has become a more of a Model human being to admire and emulate for people to appreciate even More so, based on his many varied successes, and remains very productive on into his senior years. Quite astonishing actually.
