Ty for this amazing video. I could use your help in answering a question. I am considering a trip out there, but I hear the internet can go down randomly. I need reliable internet to stream on RUclips. Would that be an issue or is that resolved nowadays? For example, if I am interviewing someone on a RUclips livestream, it would be a disaster for the internet to go down while I am live on the air. Thanks!
Hello there! Our internet infrastructure isn't great but it's much better than it was just a few years ago. If you are going the cellular data route, we don't have 5g yet but 3/4g is stable (but pricey). Just make sure you don't come during hurricane season because you could easily find yourself without internet or even electricity for several days.
@@OmarJames ty for this quick reply. I really appreciate that. I understand hurricane season, but other than hurricane season, does it shut off randomly or are you just saying it is sorta slow (which is fine)
@@truepokerdealer here's the deal: depending on where you coming from our internet speeds are either average or a little slower than what you used to. But it's stable. The catch is, many houses need to be rewired because the island environment causes more cable erosion than other places. Internet at my current apartment would drop randomly until I got the entire place rewired and it's been fine ever since. Unfortunately, most people will just complain without knowing they have options. So your internet experience in Bermuda depends greatly on where you access it from. And you may be able to fix that, or you might not.
@@OmarJames I greatly appreciate this insight. Yes that was an incredibly clear answer and I can see that making complete sense. I feel a lot more comfortable evaluating my decision to head that way. Thank you for this video and for these replies!

How about the medical marijuana scene and recreational? I have a friend from high school who has a yoga studio there and family ties on my dad's family's side there. So, it's tempting. Also, dual citizenship, Brit and US... I would NOT play in the expat side.
From what I understand you have to be married to a Bermudian for 10 non-acrimonious years before you can claim citizenship. There may be other ways, maybe if you have your own business there and you get a work visa you can get one sooner but I don't know about that part.
Thank you very much! Back in 2018 my husband and I did our Ancestry DNA, which shows that I have Bermudian ancestry to us reconsidering of moving to Bermuda someday. Of course, we have been studying of laws, economics, transportation, jobs, etc. Once again, thank you. 🇧🇲❤💙🤍💯

Hawaii doesn't give you that feeling at all for some reason.
You should come and visit! It may seem pretty scary from afar, but once you come to visit, the community and natural beauty outweigh any sense of isolation.
Hi Omar, Thanks for the videos. Can you do a video about how to immigrate to Bermuda, get a permanent residency (PR) and then get naturalization as a citizen. For example, If someone gets a job in the island, can he gets a PR and then get a Bermudan ( or British ) passport after a certain period of time of residency.
Hey Omar, solid video, thanks for the info. In your opinion/experience what should you realistically expect to pay for a rental for a family of 3 (not luxury, but decent)? and if you don't intend to drive a car, where is best to try to live?
Super general price range starts at ~2k for a 1br then add another 1k for each additional bedroom. Without knowing important details like where you working or going to school….If you don’t wanna drive you’ll probly want to stay central…pembroke/devonshire area
Nice video, tho I gotta say it is such a pain to pause the video to google the conversion from F to C. For the fellow metric people 57F is almost 14C. ^^
This is a question concerning streaming/TV subscriptions in Bermuda: other than a VPN cand anyone recommend ways to watch streaming subscriptions only available in the US (i.e HBO max, Hulu, Disney+). I have heard of smart android media boxes but do these reduce HD/4k quality?
Depends on a few things like the location but $4700 gives you lots of options. From a high end 1-2 bedroom condo in the middle of Hamilton, or a 3 bedroom house outside of the city in a more affordable neighborhood
@@OmarJames how much investment capital is required to be considered a citizen of Bermuda? I hear you guys have 0 taxes. Trying to figure out what that would cost bare minimum.
Think about mexicans picking fruit in the states or any low income migrant worker. They live super cheap and send the money back home where it’s worth alot more. For example, some of them will have 7-8 roommates in a 2-3 bedroom place…. Otherwise, Bermudian workers just gotta live cheap man. It’s tough but not impossible if you have some family support or you willing to get uncomfortable
Hi. You can find other videos on my channel about the crime here. Basically, it’s very safe compared to most other places. We’ve experienced an increase in gang/gun crime in recent years, but that really only affects locals. Otherwise be aware of petty crimes like theft, but it doesn’t happen in levels that are worth mentioning
@@OmarJames thanks, thats nice to hear. I was considering moving to Bahamas first until I heard about the level of crime there. I'm a big boy it doesnt bother me, but I gotta make sure my wife is ok
Yeah. I would say that even at our worst, Bermuda is far safer than Bahamas. More expensive, but you can pretty much walk anywhere at night and be completely safe. Within reason, of course
@@cw9249 it's very expensive. Homes are 1 million and above. Nothing much to do there all year round. May I repeat it very very expensive. There are no renter cars. Everyone rides scotters. Try Panama instead.

This is a good resource. Their numbers for Bermuda are pretty accurate: www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/compare_countries_result.jsp?country1=United+States&country2=Bermuda
This country sounds a lot like here in Hawaii. Yes, we get chilly in the winter. Yes, it's expensive. I would not recommend moving to Hawaii, actually. There's not enough space for new homes so all the homes are around 300,000$, usually higher. Anyway, I think Bermuda is the most beautiful country in the world, but if Hawaii was it's own country, we're gonna have a debate. 😁
i'm going to work to bermuda on june, but will probably go 1 month earlier. If i only receive my first salary on the end of june, how much money do you think it's enough to live through may and june?
What is your housing situation for those two months? Hotel? Apartment? Friend’s couch? That’ll likely be the main factor in how much money you will need
Well i dunno man. You ain’t giving me much info to work with lol! If your housing is covered, I guess a few hundred bucks for food and entertainment should do. All depends on what you plan to do

Omar I’m so impressed with Bermuda. I just want to relocate. What are the ways
Thank you sir! I really envy you.
Thanks but nothing to envy! We open to all! 😁
@@OmarJames I really appreciate this, is there a way to speak further outside of youtube?
Make sure to go swimming in horse shoe bay
Done that
Have a truck load of MONEY!!1 and the weather is just damp that goes rite to the bones
😂😂 great advice!
I can’t speak for Hulu and HBO max but I use Disney+ with no issue
Hii can u give me othe disadvantages on thid island and the hardest thing when i living there
I see why the pilots of flight 19 never came back. The island is a paradise
😅😅
How much does a small property cost there? Rent is 4700 for how big of a place?
Depends on a few things like the location but $4700 gives you lots of options. From a high end 1-2 bedroom condo in the middle of Hamilton, or a 3 bedroom house outside of the city in a more affordable neighborhood
@@OmarJames how much investment capital is required to be considered a citizen of Bermuda? I hear you guys have 0 taxes. Trying to figure out what that would cost bare minimum.
Hey James, what do you think an executive butler should earn in Bermuda?
So for example, a person with a regular job like customer service, retail, fast food worker….how much do they make? How do they live comfortably?
Dont even bother go there for that. You won't be able to live there. It's extremely expensive.
@@eileenwatt8283 I won’t go there for that. I’m wondering how can they live there.
I work retail, I make 2k pm. Not enough to live on my own renting.
Price's are double
What types of jobs are there for expats
very good information, thanks Omar. you didn't talk very much about crime though... what about the crime?
@@OmarJames my cousin's son got gunned down in front of her house in Bermuda. They gun is in jail there.
Can I bring my dogs is there a quarantine
Lots of rules around that. I dunno of the top of my head but i hear they are quite strict
You forgot to tell them that party only comes about 3 times a year, 24th of May, Cup Match and what else ???? Hmmm!! Oh yeah that carnival thing.
i'm gonna work on a part 2, so if you have any suggestions just leave a comment! This a good one
I want relocate to Bermuda permanently. But i live on West Africa Ghana, how do I get there? I need your help
You need to find a job there first and foremost. Once you do that, you can work on the rest.
thank u for all the great info I would love to move there beautiful place to live also very expensive .
Hi Omar, what would you say the cost of a fairly frugal life in Bermuda is these days? I am thinking of returning for a few years.
Too many variables. I’d need more info. But if you’re living alone you can live pretty cheap if you willing to make a few sacrifices.
Thanks Omar, its just me.
I have not heard from you in a min, I was wondering where you went.??
haha how I miss this comment. Still here, bro!
Why do you insist on calling me bro???
Mmmm!
😅😅😅 i have no idea
So bermudian has now ' claimed ' the jamaican curse word raascloth
Hi sir, me & my girlfriend want to move in this amazing place and settle over here. We would be grateful to u if u help us to find any kind of job over there so that we can manage living cost in a rural area in Bermuda
keep an eye on my site isleofdevils.com it's still under construction but in the near future i'll start providing information and services you might find useful
I wanted to mitigate but nah
What is the living cost please? All said that everything is real expensive there!
This is a good resource. Their numbers for Bermuda are pretty accurate: www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/compare_countries_result.jsp?country1=United+States&country2=Bermuda
Bermuda is expensive but it’s worth it!
I miss the islands. grew up as a kid there
get back there in a HURRY
@@keiths8370 Money being the only hurdle
Can I buy properties and run my business in Bermuda as a foreigner
No
How’s the infrastructure compared to Puerto Rico?
I don’t know much about puerto rico, i’m afraid. So I can’t really say
@@OmarJames hope you can visit PR in the future, I definitely wanna visit Bermuda.
He just said this is a British setting nothing close to Spain or Hispañola
They have good roads. Their buses is what would be a large mini bus. The island is tiny so large vehicles are not allowed.
Mr. Omar da cooler-juice! See you to share some rum ~~~
😂😂😂 u got me
⚡
Whare are you from sir
He said it at the beginning of the video, he was born and raised there
This country sounds a lot like here in Hawaii.
Hahaha. We can fight it out 😁

i'm going to work to bermuda on june, but will probably go 1 month earlier. If i only receive my first salary on the end of june, how much money do you think it's enough to live through may and june?
What is your housing situation for those two months? Hotel? Apartment? Friend’s couch? That’ll likely be the main factor in how much money you will need
@@OmarJames probably will have accomodation allowance from the company.
Well i dunno man. You ain’t giving me much info to work with lol! If your housing is covered, I guess a few hundred bucks for food and entertainment should do. All depends on what you plan to do
@@OmarJames yeah the 2 first months i wont spend a lot with activities or restaurants. How much do you think i spend on supermarket, mobile phone and transport?
I’ll do another video for ya. How about that?
