BigBang has debuted back in 2006 and they are known as the Kings of Kpop. They’re from the 2nd Gen (BTS and Blackpink are from the 3rd Gen) and they still are one the biggest influences to kpop idols from newer generations. They are the ones who made k-pop what it is today, and I’m talking music influences, fashion, hair, music videos, songwriting, lightsticks, etc… everything. BTS and Blackpink have both been opened about how much BB has influenced them (you should check Suga’s interview with Taeyang where he talks about this).
You should also check their live performances. They are seriously the best k-pop group live. Their energy and stage presence is unmatchable.
bigbang is a legendary band, of course, at the moment bts and blackpink are more famous and popular, but bigbang is a band whose songs have grown a whole generation of k-pop fans, among the members of bts and blackpink and many other modern k-pop groups there are those for whom the members of bigbang were (and even now are) idols and role models.
For Asians, alphabet A is pronounced as "Ah". So it's Tae Y-ah-ng.

Yes definitely check out Big Bang!! Many idols these days look up to them such as Bts, BP, Stray Kids, and many more. He also collab with Jimin from Bts with the song Vibe that came out in January this year. Do check it out. For BigBangs recommendations you guys should check out Bang Bang Bang, Fantastic baby, f**k It, Sober, Loser, If You, Haru Haru and Last Dance. But their live performances is where it’s at. Since it was more back in the days there’s no English sub to their MVs just a heads up but do search it up with English subs. I also recommend checking out some of Taeyangs solos such as Good Boy with G- Dragon (their group leader) , Wedding dress, Eyes, Nose, Lips, Where you at, only look at me. Trust me on this: Check out a few BIG BANG songs like "Fantastic Baby" and "Bang Bang Bang." And also EXO's "Monster" (Performance Video). Some of the best pop music released in the 2000's.

Taeyang is from the group Big Bang. G Dragon is the leader of Big Bang, he was gifted a Wu Tang Clan album when he was 13 and started teaching himself English phonetically and started writing his own rap lyrics and then trained and collaborated with some of his sunbeas (Seniors in that craft) on a album together. He was the youngest rapper by that age and he is one of the richest and most known celebrities in the world. G Dragon and CL are really big fans of Wu Tang Clan and other old school rappers. CL was the leader of 2Ne1 label mate and sister group of Big Bang before they disbanded. CL is an amazing rapper singer and performer. 2ne1 and Big Bang were made of something different and you can tell. They are about quality not quantity and they have been around changing kpop since 2006. They were the first in a lot of things in kpop. The most notable though is their writing and producing their own music and having a lot of creative control. They are the trendsetter in kpop. They are the bad boys of kpop, the media has always had a thing for trying to bring them down. They brought kpop international paving the way for the newer groups actually Taeyang wrote his Master thesis on the effect Big Bang had on the hallyu wave (Korean culture) going international. React to Big Bang too pls. I just thought you would be super excited to know that G Dragon was influenced by Wu Tang. Also T.O.P. which is the other rapper in Big Bang was influenced by Notorious B.I.G. and others. The new kpop groups mostly cite Big Bang and G Dragon as their influence. They are the idols of idols. The Kings or Emporors if you will.

Brought freedom of creation to kpop and gave idols the possiblility to be more than company puppets. They proved solo careers are possible without disband. All members are successful solo. Where you guys from? India perhaps. You must be if you can't recognize classic R&B with trap and hard funk 808's. This song ain't K-pop. Not all music coming out of Korea is K-pop. Is county western music the only genre coming out of America. You know it isn't. Don't stereotype!
